Guacamelee! builds upon the classic open-world Metroid-vania style of games, by adding a strong melee combat component, a new dimension switching mechanic, and cooperative same-screen multiplayer for the entire story. The game also blurs the boundaries between combat and platforming by making many of the moves useful and necessary for both of these.
Travel through a mystical and mysterious Mexican world as a Luchador using the power of your two fists to battle evil. Uncover hidden wrestling techniques like the Rooster Uppercut, and Dimension Swap to open new areas and secrets.
Key Features
- Use combat moves for both fighting enemies and platforming challenges

Hey! Hows it going?
Eating well? Sleeping in? Folding clothes?
Thats so great to hear.
- Oh, us? Nah, we havent been up to much.
Well, except for all the work weve put into our new game https://store.steampowered.com/app/2974160/Blighted/\"" style="color:#bb86fc;text-decoration:none;">Blighted . Check it out!
As you know, we announced Blighted back in June as part of Summer Game Fest 2025 , and weve been hard at work on it since. (Thanks for wishlisting it, by the way. It really does help )
We dont want to spoil too much, buuuut weve added a TON of enemies to the game, and are still adding more! Each of them deadly in their own weird and freaky little way.

Its hard to believe but we actually built out an early version of the entire game as part of an internal-alpha milestone! And right now were in the middle of tearing it all up, choosing the best bits, adding juicy challenges and putting it all back together again.

Now, it might sound like we dont have much left to do, but that couldnt be further from the truth! Were still fine tuning the gameplay and combat loop to go beyond the standard weve established in any of our other games thus far. Blight is getting deadlier, and gnarlier too. Our programmers are working all sorts of technical magic to make Blighted shine, ooze and wriggle. And every new object in the game is another opportunity for our artists to draw up a fresh nightmarish creation to populate the growing world. And Jim Guthrie is still sending us tracks that put shivers down our spines in all of the best ways.

We\'re also prepping the soundtrack from Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack to be released on Steam very soon! As one of our first major releases, Mutant Blobs Attack will always hold a special place in our ears - because the soundtrack by Peter Chapman and Shaun Hatton is SO GOOD. If you ever need a shot of caffeine directly into your earlobes, load up this soundtrack, sit back, and get back up again because your toes will not stop tapping.

On the more human side, we recently took the team out to get their quarterly quota of exercise by running, jumping, dodging, ducking, dipping, diving, dodging, throwing, shooting (basketball), shooting (gun) and yelling with Activate . We then gathered for our biggest team photo to date!! (were still missing an international co-worker or two, but well get them one day!)
