They kidnapped the son of the deputy head of the Sargas Fund finance department, and demanded a ransom of forty million credits. Sargas has already issued an official statement claiming the involvement of Spartas intelligence services and demanding that the threat posed by this pseudo-state be eliminated. However, no substantial evidence of Spartas involvement with Asclepius was ever presented. Moreover, some of the Asclepius ships were purchased with grant money from the Sargas Fund. The Alliance of Free Worlds has withdrawn licenses from several provocative media outlets: The Will of Mankind, True Faith, and Federation Volley. According to official sources of the Atlantic Alliance, the reason for banning these news outlets is the dissemination of unverified information, which is unacceptable on the territory of the Federation. According to our source, the real reason was the extremist statements made by these media about Armada. I remind you that The Frontier Voice is impartial to the political interests of any state and does not represent the official opinion of any party to a possible conflict. Our job is to report on events in the Frontier sectors and to save lives whenever possible. The Armada press center shared a good news: the Aliens that infiltrated the Olympus system (we wrote about that in our last issue) have been successfully eliminated by the joint efforts of Armada and UMC mercenaries. Connie Aren gave us a comment: This time, the Aliens have been purged from the system. However, do not assume that the Abandoned Beacon is safe, I urge everyone to be vigilant, especially in these troubled times. The Frontier Voice fully supports this statement. Together, they should probably point to some place.

Story

Three thousand years have passed since the first colonists left Earth. Now the galaxy is divided between the militant star empires and independent mercenary groups. In a remote corner of the galaxy — Sector 1337, the area of the dead — a world has been left behind. Here, the ruins of a great civilization of Aliens have recently been discovered. Huge factories and sprawling cities are falling into decay. Fragments of ships lie on the fields where massive battles were once fought. But there is not a living soul. Everything has been destroyed by a mysterious Cataclysm — a pulsing anomaly that burned out all life within this sector.

This doesn’t stop mankind, the new «owner» of the Universe. Mercenaries and adventurers have flocked to the sector to sift through the ruins and loot its abandoned artifacts, without consideration of the danger. Many have disappeared — including members of well-armed expeditions — but those who have managed to return have uncovered unprecedented riches.
