Were finally ready to announce that our first public alpha playtest is now LIVE! If youve been accepted to the playtest, you should see Stars of Icarus Playtest in your Steam Library. Join our discord to coordinate with other players, discuss the playtest, and find some matches.

We\'re very excited to see so many signups for our first public test! It\'s actually been a little overwhelming watching that signup count tick upwards, and we\'ve had to limit access to about 2000 new players for this initial alpha to make sure our servers and backend can handle it. But we\'ve got plenty of more tests before release that we\'ll be progressively ramping up towards. You\'ll get notified in Steam when you get access to this or future tests!
Since it\'s our first test though, you\'re likely to run into a few bugs, issues, and unfinished edges. Here\'s a short list of some of the things we\'re working on for future tests:
- Additional ships and maps
- Quality of life improvements to piloting large ships, especially aiming those broadside weapons
- UI and HUD polish and improvements
- Tutorial and Practice Range
- Weapon, loadout, and tool balance
We\'d love your help shaping the future of the game, and are always looking for more feedback. The Stars of Icarus Discord is the best place to discuss and leave feedback. We read everything you write there! You can also use the in game bug reporter to help us track down some of those pesky issues and glitches which is a huge help. No feedback is too big or too small!
