Dear Chinese players, We love and value our Chinese-speaking fans and constantly strive to make our games more accessible therefore we are happy to announce that Amnesia: Rebirth and SOMA are now available to play with Simplified Chinese subtitles and interface. With the help from passionate friends at Testronic the latest update of Amnesia: Rebirth and SOMA now includes the option to play through the entire games in Simplified Chinese. To change language setting:

• Enter the main menu
• Press OPTIONS
• Press GAME
• Scroll on the Language bar until you reach your desired language

Heres a summary of the features that comes with the new Adventure Mode:

• Monsters still exist in the game but they wont attack you anymore.
• Locations that contained pitch black darkness have been brightened up a lot, making environments possible to explore at ones own pace, allowing for easier navigation and removes some of the oppressive atmosphere.
• No active fear mechanic, meaning that you dont have to worry about taking fear from being in darker areas or near monsters.
• A few bonus puzzles.

Are you a Linux or a Mac user? Amnesia: The Dark Descent's Hard Mode update is now creeping onto your platforms too! Don't know what the Hard Mode is? Here's a reminder. It is really just as the title suggests: a mode that makes it harder to beat the game. You know, in case it wasnt stressful enough for you. The Hard Mode has the following features: - Autosaves are disabled, and manual saving costs 4 tinderboxes - Sanity dropping to zero results in death - Less oil and tinderboxes throughout the levels - Monsters are faster, spot the player more easily, deal more damage and stay around for longer - There is no danger music when the monsters are near. So in summary: the environments are harsher, the monsters more unforgiving, insanity is deadly, and death is final unless you pay a toll. You can pick between normal mode and Hard Mode when starting a new game of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The mode changes some fundamental elements of the game, and therefore cant be changed halfway through. Beating the game on Hard Mode will earn you a new trophy called Masochist. Because, you know, you pretty much have to be one to complete the mode. The mode affects the Illuminatus achievement, which you cant get during playing in Hard Mode as it reduces the amount of tinderboxes throughout the level. Missed our release last week? Apparently something went wrong on the previous update, making it a bit difficult to run total conversion mods out of the box. Version 1.311 addresses that issue so you don't have to hack stuff to make them work. Changelist: - Launcher checks for the 'DefaultMainSettingsSDL2' entry in the init config file passed as argument and falls back to the game's default if not present. - Game checks for the 'DefaultMainSettingsSDL2' and 'DefaultUserKeysSDL2' entries in the init config file passed as argument and falls back to the game's default if not present. - Added "steam_appid.txt" file to make it possible to run the game exe outside Steam.
