FEATURE UPDATE

Happy to announce that we have released a whole bunch of new and exciting features to Animated Puzzles. These new features have been available in the public beta for a while, but are now fully released! Some of the new features are: - "Local" option to the workshop puzzles.- This has actually been available for a while, but we forgot to announce it.! :D - Bevel effect option on puzzle pieces - Might make the puzzle pieces "fancier" but it takes the details out of the pictures, so we don't like it.. But, it's been requested, so there's now an option for it.. :) - Online CO-OP - This is so much fun, you should definitely try it! - Local CO-OP, just start a puzzle and add a second controller. - Family fun! - Remote play - Remote play together Note: Should you encounter any issues with the new update, please let us know! Due to unforeseen circumstances, not all puzzles were ready in time for the release of our DLC - Spooky pack. We were a bit bummed about this, but didnt want to hold the release. Instead, we promised that wed released the last two puzzles as soon as possible. We thought as soon as possible would be sooner than this, but these are unpredictable times for sure. We are happy to announce that our first DLC has been released: Animated Puzzles - Spooky pack! This add-on contains 6 (soon to be 8) new spooky themed animated puzzles. The puzzles have three difficulties, with a higher number of pieces than our previous puzzles. The pack also includes 3 new spooky soundtracks to go with the puzzles. In contrast to the natural and harmonious puzzles included in the main game, these are not created to make you feel good or relaxed, but rather a bit uncomfortable. Our goal is not to scare you or give you a heart attack, after all - this is a game with a wide age range ;). They are just made to give you that dark and eerie feeling that some people tend to seek out from time to time, especially around Halloween. NOTE regarding "soon to be 8 puzzles". Due to unforeseen circumstances, not all puzzles were ready in time, but will be uploaded as soon as we get the chance.

New “Custom Option”: Sort pieces by type Places frame pieces in the top of the tray. Improved gamepad controls While still somewhat locked to grid for precision, the joystick now moves the cursor/selector much more freely. Giving you a smoother and faster gamepad experience. Updates to puzzle piece tray:

• Puzzle piece tray can now be up to 9 pieces wide instead of 5.
• The puzzle piece tray no longer closes automatically, in the case where the tray is overlaying the puzzle board and a piece is dragged towards it. If you want the tray to close automatically while it’s covering parts of the board, just drag a piece over the tray "drag button”.
• Harder to accidentally drop the tray "drag button”, while dragging it.
• You can now scroll the tray while holding a puzzle piece. Either move the puzzle piece towards top/ bottom of the tray, or use the mouse wheel while holding a piece above the tray. This should make it easier so manually sort pieces in the tray.
• You can now sort puzzles pieces within the tray while using controller. Just select the piece you want to move, hold down the A button and move it by using the joystick.

For those who haven't already noticed, we're happy to announce that we now have a free Animated Puzzles PC demo! The demo is to provide you with an overview of what Animated Puzzles looks like and what features it holds. You will be able to play the first 6 puzzles, including all three difficulties together with all puzzle piece shapes available. Enjoy!

Here’s some of the changes we’ve made: Battle

• You can now battle friends with puzzles from our included puzzle packs.
• You can now battle friends with non-private workshop puzzles.

Workshop

• Automatic puzzle tags - animated / static and number of pieces. (Tags will be updated when you re-save a puzzle from the ingame edit screen).
• Added a "file select" for controller when creating a workshop puzzle.

Other:

• Updated cat puzzle.
• Fixed the abrupt ending on one of the music tracks.
• Added two new music tracks.
• Added some new sfx

Note:

LINUX USERS: We are in the middle of a workaround for the music playback bug and will not be able to release this update just yet. We apologize for this and hope to release the new update shortly.

New Update!

Workshop

• We've rebuilt the puzzle creator and changed it into a visual tool. You will now start off with a preview of your image, including a white puzzle grid above it. To the right you will have a puzzles piece selector, where you can select how many pieces wide, you would like your puzzle to be. Currently ranging from about 3 to about 35, depending on the resolution of your image. As you pull the drag handle to select the number, the puzzle grid will update itself. It will show you how the pieces will be divided and how much of the image will be cut to fit your selection. The number of pieces that are a perfect match for your image resolution, will be marked green.
• You are now able to go back to piece select after entering crop mode.
• Puzzle preview / icon. Since we've changed the resolution of the preview image a few times, the preview images might look a bit different compare to one another. You can update your preview images by going to our ingame workshop page, select the puzzle you'd like to update, click on the Steam icon then select edit. Then just press submit and the preview image will be updated.
• Workshop now supports up to about 800 pieces, depending on the resolution of your image.
• Removed the white cloud particle effect from workshop puzzles, so it’s less distracting on smaller puzzle pieces.

Other

• Fixed the puzzle frame corners.

Bug fix - Workshop

We've had some workshop issues when creating own puzzles from larger / detailed images. The icons generated from these images could sometimes exceed the icon size limit, which made the puzzle generation incomplete. We have lowered the icon resolution, in hope that this will eliminate the problem. If you've experienced problems when trying to create a workshop puzzle, please try again. If anyone encounters further issues with this, please let us know!

New update!

Just released an updated based on some of the feedback that we’ve gotten so far! Here’s some of the changes included in the update: Battle

• Unaccepted friends now hidden from friends list.
• A separate list with friends that has played Animated Puzzles.
• Friends lists now in alphabetic order.
• Ability to remove a battle request before it has been initiated by the other player.

Workshop

• New system for number of pieces. The system reads the size of your picture and calculates options for how many pieces it can fit without cutting too much of the picture. Depending on the size of the picture it might not find a perfect fit and will then give you the closest options. It will also show how many percent of the picture will be cut. The system will give you options within different size categories marked S, M, L, XL, XXL. High resolution images will have more size categories, currently ranging up to about 400 pieces depending on the proportions. Next step will let you crop the image if needed, just as before.

Other:

• Bigger frame on our animated puzzles.
• Rotate images mid-air using mouse: Hold image with left mouse button and right click to rotate.
• Clicking "pause" with gamepad from ingame, while having the puzzle piece holder out, will no longer also pick the currently selected piece.
