That's right, it's official: our next murder mystery visual novel GENBA no Kizuna will, at long last, release on August 26 (the very day of SHINRAI's anniversary) at 10:00 AM PST! In other words, you'll be able to play it in a little less than two weeks from now! We really wanted to make this announcement much sooner, but decided to wait until Valve would give us the definitive green light, so we'd have 100% certainty about everything working out. (You have no idea how long Gospel has been itching to use that Jurassic meme!) GENBA's store page has been updated with the final product information, a new gameplay video and you can even check out the GBA-style instruction booklet now. It contains some basic info on the story, characters and gameplay mechanics, as well as some potentially useful tips. So if you want to already start prepping yourself for the upcoming murder investigation, be sure to check it out! We've also discussed a few more details about the release of both the VN and its soundtrack in our most recent dev post over on our website. Now, as you can see by the title of this post, the GENBA release is not the only thing happening soon. There is also gonna be a little bugfix for SHINRAI on the 26th to take care of a rather curious issue that was discovered recently. We were so busy with the beta test phase and release prep for GENBA, that it took us a bit to get around to properly investigating it. Thankfully, the way to trigger the issue is really obscure, so it's quite unlikely for more people to run into it (and probably why it took so many years for someone to stumble across it to begin with), but nevertheless... we obviously wanted to fix that! So, if you're seeing SHINRAI update all of a sudden, don't be alarmed! Or disappointed! It's really primarily about said bug, although we also took the opportunity to fix another little issue: the fact that the game icon was no longer displayed in the game window or task bar for some reason. And while we were at it, we also decided to add a splash screen upon starting the game, just like you'll get to see it for GENBA. So yeah, all around very minor things, but we obviously wanted to inform you about that as well, so you're not gonna scratch your heads about SHINRAI suddenly showing up in your download section! But that about wraps it up! More info on the GENBA release will be shared through our website, Discord and social medias, so keep an eye on those!
