Ahoy, fellow pirates! Weve got some great news for everyone who already roves the seas of Tempest or was looking for a perfect opportunity to join our crew. A long-awaited expansion, the Pirate City DLC, is going to be released soon on Steam along with the basic game getting an update. So, what shiny new treasures should you expect?
New mechanics are coming
First of all, Pirate City adds one of the highly requested features: an ability to build and develop your own settlement. By being a thoughtful governor you will be able to turn a simple village into a thriving city... and get quite a few new quests! https://youtu.be/eUHPIJHkvGE Other than that, you will be able to buy a share in any shop no matter where it is located. This will certainly improve your financial situation so you can invest even more funds in your own city and make your neighbors envious of your success! Players can also expect a brand new sinister looking ship that goes under the name of Grim Reaper and can be decorated with 4 extra figureheads: wolf, tiger, bear and lion. Heres a teaser of the brig in action, which is available for boarding and capturing (but only the bravest may dare the crew of this ship is a bit... unusual):
We are also introducing a land based battle arena that will be located near your city, so you can test your captains melee fighting skills against skeletons and pirate zombies. Yes, we said PIRATE ZOMBIES =)
Enter the arena, pick a weapon of choice and get ready to rumble! The more waves of enemies you can survive, the bigger the reward! New achievements included ;)
The Base game (Tempest) gets an update
Along with the release of the Pirate City DLC, the base game will also feature a general overhaul including an updated tutorial, improved water physics and some updates to visuals. Plus, quite a few bugs were sent to walk the plank! More details to follow regarding our next DLC and the patch in future updates, so stay in touch, captains!

Hey Captain! Now that you’ve got the Jolly Roger fluttering in the wind over your ship, you’re ready to rove the seas, take on merchant ships loaded with booty and storm formidable fortresses. Set sail and get your hands on all those legendary treasures that are just waiting for the picking!
When we created Tempest, we focused on the most thrilling part of pirate life – sea battles.
As you navigate the dangerous waters of the game you won’t just catch up with merchants, but you will encounter fellow pirates, creepy followers of a mysterious cult and terrible mythical monsters: Kraken, Leviathan and other infamous creatures.
Your ship – the pride and joy of any freebooter – can be customized in many ways. You are free to change almost everything – from the color of your flag and sails to the ship’s hull and figurehead.
Of course, there are plenty of weapons to choose from for every battle, including cannons, mortars, flame throwers and so on. Also there are special tools ready to help you to rig the ship for any purpose. However, you can win the most valuable artifacts only by finishing the multilevel quests called “legends”.
