You can now play your favorite user-created tracks and races in multiplayer! The lobby screen will label the rooms that have a custom race with a small Steam icon in the top left of the environment image. If you’re already subscribed to that race, it will show a star icon at the right of the environment image, so you can quickly see which races are familiar to you. Creating a room with a custom race is easy: any races that you have shared on or downloaded from the Steam Workshop are available for you to use in a multiplayer game. If you want to use your own Track and Race for a game, make sure you have your latest version shared on the Workshop first. Joining a room with a custom race will automatically download the necessary track and race for you to play. You’ll see a new cloud download button next to the Workshop title which allows you to subscribe to the race, also making it available for you in single player. At the end of the race, you are also able to upvote/downvote the race, giving creators some feedback on their work.
The month of September is upon us, which means the leaderboards of built-in races once again have a clean sheet. The leaderboards shown in-game now display the race-times placed in September. If you have a craving to review your old glory, you can still visit the August leaderboards on Steam.

Having mastered the built-in tracks and setting top race times on the leaderboards, it’s now time for you to race others on your own turf! With update 0.6.6 we are excited to let you play the many tracks and races on the Steam Workshop in multiplayer! This version is also available on Linux!
CHANGELIST
- Custom Tracks and Races are now available for multiplayer
- Subscribe to a race and track in the waiting room to also make them available in single player
- Rate a multiplayer race while in the race results screen
- Clicking the player icon in spectator mode to spectate that player
- Fixed issue with the Race Editor where validating a race gave an error when the associated track’s checkpoints had changed
- The leaderboards of the built-in races now also show the current month in which they are active
