Update 0.10.12 released!
We've received hundreds of requests from you, the community, about the Dquad Obsession. It's a much beloved frame and we are excited to add it to Liftoff. The team at DQuad has been great in supporting the project and we are excited about the final result of that work. We love this frame! It looks amazing both in real life and in the game. The combination of aircraft grade aluminum and carbon fiber not only makes this frame super fancy but also really strong! The aluminum brackets form a very strong rollcage which protect all important hardware. It comes in different variations and has a 5inch and 6inch version in Liftoff. "It is not just a game, it's an Obsession!" ;)
We've added some changes to the drone's camera. You can now adjust the FOV (Field of View) in game, using the left and right arrow keys. We've changed the way FOV is represented by using Horizontal FOV instead of Vertical. We feel this is more intuitive and matches the values shown on actual cameras better. One of the downsides of high FOV values has always been that it causes severe stretching near the edges and shrinks the center of the screen significantly. This leads us to our second change. We've added the option to use fisheye (or lens distortion). This gives you the effect of using a real lens and allows you to have that curved horizon line that you might be familiar with. It also counteracts the effect of a high FOV by enlarging the center and squashing the sides of the screen. You can toggle the fisheye effect with the F key, or set the option on or off from the main menu. The fisheye effect is not yet perfect, but we are at a point where we would like your feedback. Does it feel correct? Does it change your perception of size? Does it give you more spacial awareness? Does it make you completely dizzy? Let us know what you think!
