We mentioned in previous announcements that all enemies and their abilities have been approved and are technically finished. This week, our artist has completed creating icons for all of them. Even though the game might appear small, it boasts a plethora of distinct abilities. Just take a look at these spreadsheets.
Overall, we have a total of 320 ability text blocks. Default abilities do not feature icons, only secondary abilities are accompanied by icons. In any case, we needed to design around 150 different icons. It looks remarkably cohesive!
Any strategy game necessitates careful planning based on current information. As a result, we've decided to include a "Status Info" block where players can view all buffs and debuffs affecting any unit. Utilizing information to make strategic moves is a fundamental aspect of the game. Most of the effects are common, such as increased or reduced damage, and so on.
Consequently, there's another substantial batch of icons related to statuses. We will showcase how they all appear in the game at a later point. All I can say for now is that they look incredible.
The Game Designer is in the final stages of completing the remaining game levels. They only need to finish World #5 of Mode 2, and then the game will be fully prepared, as all additional features like hero upgrades, items, and in-game challenges have already been completed.
Our artist has concluded the revision of all unit animations and is currently working on Steam achievements. Another artist, who created all the aforementioned icons, is now implementing the revised graphics into the game. The programmer has assisted the artists, investing significant effort into coding to make these aspects feasible.
Additionally, our first tester is actively playing the game, aiding us in balancing the game's difficulty. Furthermore, she is reviewing the English text, meaning we are on the brink of commencing the translation of the game into various languages. Hello there,
We are pleased to share that game development is progressing smoothly. This week, we completed the design of the game's menus, and our programmer is now in the process of implementing them into the game. Additionally, one of our artists is working on creating icons for all the items, while another artist is focusing on animating them for battles.
In this news update, we are excited to showcase the main game menu, which takes the form of a mighty wizard's house. As part of the game's narrative, we have entered into a deal with a demon who promises to aid us in defeating the Devil, in exchange for being granted superpowers.
The design of the Wizard House menu incorporates elements inspired by retro games, and we are delighted with the visual outcome. Within the menu, players will find interactive elements such as a book, which leads to the Skill menu, a pentagram that opens a portal to Hell (for mission selection), a cauldron and scrolls that open the Item menu, and a wooden board that grants access to Heroes Upgrade. As for what opens the chest, that remains a secret for now.
In future announcements, we will provide a glimpse into how the sub-menus look, offering more insights into the game's immersive experience. Stay tuned for further updates.

We are excited to share the progress of our game's development. This week, we focused on designing the battle GUI, which was a time-consuming task. However, the result is fantastic, and we will soon showcase it to you.
Our artist is currently working on creating graphics for the new monsters in Mode #2. Other artists are diligently incorporating menus into the game, while our game designer is busy crafting missions for Mode #2. Another game designer is preparing texts for the entire game, ensuring a comprehensive and immersive experience. Additionally, our programmer is diligently integrating graphics of all heroes and bosses into the game.
Expect more exciting content in our upcoming news updates. In the image above, you can see all the monsters from World #3, which features a classic Nordic Underworld with Draugs, Kobolds, and more.
During this stage of the game, players unlock second stances for all heroes, making World #3 a challenging test of their skills. Enemies in this world cast various barriers, curses, and debuffs on the heroes. The final boss has a special appearance that serves as an Easter Egg, adding an element of surprise. The boss fight in World #3 consists of an endless wave of Draugs led by the Ice Lord. If the Ice Lord is defeated, it will be reborn as another Draug, similar to Agent Smith. To defeat it, players must eliminate it multiple times.

Hello there,
We have finished development of the main campaign. All enemies, heroes and bosses are working while design of all missions is set. Now, Game Designer and Programmer are preparing the stuff for Mode #2. Yeah, Guards II has another game mode, Challenge mode. Same missions, but enemies are tougher and they got new powerful abilities. Also, new enemies appear in each world.
Guards II has 4 game difficulty. It allows to enjoy the game player of different game experience. Casual players can play on Easy difficulty for the story when strategy fans can pick Nightmare difficulty and suffer each level. All enemies in all difficulties have different parameters of health, resistances and power of their abilities. All set by hand. It is very time-consuming way of design, but we think it is the only way to add difficulty options to strategy games.
Finally, you can see achievement text block. If you played our previous games, you know what it is. A special requirement. If player fullfils it, he gets extra reward. Sometimes these requirements are really hard.

Guards II development has entered the final stage. We finished the design of the main campaign as well as drew all the art. Now we need to put it all together and make everything work correctly.
Below you can see the bestiary of World #2. It is an Asian underworld with many mythological creatures.
The Final Boss has two stances in four phases, after beating him player will receive the ability to change heroes stances.

We are keeping the work. We have almost finished development of the core stuff of the game. We are testing now final World #5 and its Boss. When we finish we can plan the game release. Also, we are going to make soon Guards II Store page to give you more info.
On the main picture you can see the map of adventure. It is divided on 5 worlds with 3-7 missions each. It looks very cute. In another picture you can see World #1 bestiary. Also, we added some gifs with monsters animations.

In this News we will talk about heroes. Main idea remains the same. Each hero has Health, Damage and Spell Power. But we came up with a great idea how to make the game more strategic without adding complexity.
So, here it is. Each hero has 2 stances which can be changed under certain circumstances.
All heroes attack differently. Ultimate attacks also do different effects. Both stances are useful, but player should decide what is the best composition at the current moment.
Today we gonna give info about 4 heroes and their abilities.
Demonologist is the main protagonist of the game. He has low base life, but high damage.
First stance.
- Attack. Ranged attack with high damage.
- Ultimate. Deals X damage and stuns 1 enemy for 1 turn.
Second stance.
- Attack. Targets and attack an enemy on any cell of the map.
- Ultimate. Send meteors to the closest enemies on each line.
Alchemist. Tough unit with average attack but low attack range.
First stance.
- Attack. Semi-ranged attack up to 3 cells.
- Ultimate. Heals an ally.
Seconds stance.
- Attack. Damages enemies on 3 closest cells with deadly gas.
- Ultimate. Throw a jumping shell. It damages enemies and bounces diagonally between them. Deals extra damage to the last target.
Monster Hunter. Damage dealer with high damage and low base life.
First Stance.
- Attack. Ranged attack with high damage.
- Ultimate. Damages all enemies at the line.
Second Stance.
- Attack. Deals damage to the first enemy from behind.
- Ultimate. Raven attack first enemy at the behind and apply poison and silence.
Warrior Princess. It has a lot of damage and health but attacks in melee only.
First Stance.
- Attack. Melee attack with high damage.
- Ultimate. Throw a shield. It damages first enemy and apply a barrier on the Warrior.
Second Stance.
- Attack. Melee attack with high damage.
- Ultimate. Create a fire shield. All enemies receive damage when they attack Warrior Princess.
These 4 heroes are base heroes. They are available from the start of the game. Other heroes can be unlocked later during game progression.

We are keeping the work on Guards sequel. From now on, we will publish news regularly.
Main flaw of original game was a necessity to reply early levels again and again. To cut this flaw and leave gameplay unchanged we decided to make 5 different worlds. Each world has from 3 to 7 missions. Each world is similar to additional game with 1 big change. It is easier to show it on the example.
World #1 has 3 locations in it. Player starts Mission 1 of World #1 and it has only 1 location in it. If player starts Mission 2, it is an adventure of 2 sub-missions. Player needs to pass Location 1 and complete Location 2 after that. Same for Mission 3 which has 3 locations inside. Similar to Original Guards, right?
The main difference that fulfillment of same Locations in different sub-missions is different. For example, Location 1 of Mission 1 has only 2 types of weak enemies. But Location 1 of Mission 3 introduces armored versions of these monsters and summon another one. It feels and plays differently on same locations.
It means, what using same graphics we could make entirely different missions (from gameplay point of view). We could cut main flaw of the game and extend length of the game. Guards II has 5 different worlds with 25 missions/locations at all. Each mission consists of 1 to 7 sub-missions. In total, player needs to beat 205 stages to beat the game. Not bad!
On other hand, stages takes 3-10 minutes (exclude boss stages) to beat them and player can Save & Quit anytime he wants.
There are screenshots of World #1 missions. They designed in Egyptian style as you can see. We will tell more about different worlds in the next Guards II News.

We are working on Guards sequel. We decided to show you what we achieved.
New game uses completely another graphic style and story universe but it keeps same gameplay features with swapping heroes. We came up with a lot of new ideas and innovations. Guards II is developed as an original game, so it should become very good.
You can see a design of skill menu. We added 2 new skills to the old ones. Old ones also got several improvements.

Gameplay
The main feature of the game is a unique turn-based battle system. You command the team of 4 heroes, 3 of which are fighting on the front line, while the 4th is recovering health behind the backs of his team-mates. To make a move you need to change positions of any two heroes. If the hero moves from the back line to the front, he uses superattack. For example, the knight is thrilling the land, stunning all the enemies on the line, while the huntress is charging a bow with energy, simultaneously firing arrows in all the enemies.
