Hello fellow videogame enthusiasts! On this very day 4 years ago (and 42 days) the world changed forever. We're pleased to announce that today it will change once more. We present to you the Manual Samuel Anniversary Edition (Almost)! The game has recieved a long overdue overhaul, as well as some additional content and features - like amazing comics and global leaderboards! We have also made a certain bossfight make a little more sense from a game design perspective, which means that it is a bit shorter and a bit easier. We realize that this will create a new speedrunning category, so in order to preserve the old category we have decided to keep the old version on a beta branch in Steam: Just open properties, go to betas and select 'classic'. We have tried to make the speedrunning experience more rewarding by implementing Steam leaderboards into the game, this includes both the time attack levels and the game as a whole, additionally we have added an in-game timer you can enable in the options menu. • Each time attack level now has a global leaderboard
• Added a global leaderboard for speedruns, also added an option to show the timer while playing
• Death4Life comics are available to read in the main menu in both English and Japanese
• Added Japanese localization
• The game now saves data based on steam user ID, multiple users on the same computer will no longer have to share save files. Files saved in the old location are still kept and synced with the cloud to make the transition smooth.
• Reduced size on disk from approximately 2gb to 500mb
• The main menu has gotten a small overhaul
• Satan fight is slightly easier
• Playing with keyboard should now work 100% even if you have a controller plugged in
• Button prompts now update to reflect the last used controller
• Improved kickflip animation
• Increased texture resolution of most of the characters in the game
• Car clutch sensitivity has been increased to compensate for inaccurate controllers
• Added in-game achievement view
• Fixed exploit and potential crash bug where you could skip Death vomiting sequences by pausing/unpausing in Sam Blasts level
• Fixed issue where Death's vomit would sometimes hang in the air and not fall. (A truly immersion-breaking experience)
• Fixed issue where interrupting the robots aggro animation by shooting at them, would cause them to not aim correctly when shooting at you.
• Updated input system to the latest version, this should hopefully take care of some controller-detection issues people have been experiencing
• Updated Fabric Audio to latest version
• Fixed an issue where pausing the game during the intro section of a music track would make the track start the loop section too early when unpausing, causing overlapping music
• Sam actually takes a leak on the towels
• Sam actually takes a leak on the floor
• Sam actually takes a leak everywhere, including, but not limited to, himself
• A number of character animations has been improved, some characters are now less floaty
• Added small background details to tie the game further with Helheim Hassle
• A bunch of other fixes that was backported from the Switch version
