IGF Honorable Mention!!! :D

Today I went back to school after having a relaxing winter break of binge gaming. My sleep schedule was really messed up though, I had been going to sleep at 5am which is the time I have to wake up on my school routine so I couldn't sleep at all last night leaving me exhausted today. However, I got a good burst of energy once I found out I had an honorable mention in the IGFs (the independent game festival). I don't really know that means in terms of GDC or the awards ceremony, but I do know who else got mentions... and wow. These are like teams of grad students, some of which go to USC (my all eggs in one basket dream school that I just applied to this fall *fingers crossed, wish me luck), and then there's me a highschool solo dev with a weird game. I'm very happy, very tired, and very confused about what that mention entails or GDC. Regardless I'm super glad I entered the game and thankful to all of you who have played the game and wrote to me. Awkward was pretty awkward in retrospect, it WAS NOT my first game by any means (seriously I made like 30+ games before this), though it was my first real legit release of a game and certainly has taught me a lot. Also on a side note, Awkward isn't finished; it's just on hiatus for now. Awkward Dimensions Redux will be my life's dream journal and diary, not just my teen years. So I'll pick it back up later in college, then in my 30's, 40's, 50's, and so on until I die and then someone will have to export whatever I had left and push it through steampipe or whatever Steam uses to manage builds then. It's a bit ambitious of a proposition, but almost everyone has a journal in their life... I just want to make mine interactive. One more thing: I promise to add a functional toilet in Awkward, which is a shame that there isn't one at the moment and probably the sole reason why the game has been getting lower ratings in the past few days. This issue will be addressed and patched next update, whenever that will be. ;)
