Praying Mantis Lifecycle Released!
The Praying Mantis Lifecycle has now been released on the grandest stage this game has ever seen: A Living Tree World -procedurally generated with every leaf, every flower and every shoot depicted as complete 3D surfaces! A Tree World so detailed so real that players can walk, climb, rest or hunt upon any part of it!
Thousands upon thousands of leaves, stalks and flowers surround you, each of them with teeming with so much insect life, that the player can conceivably never run out of prey!
Indeed, dear friends! This Tree World is so huge, compared to you as the player that no Mantis can conceivably ever explore all of it! Also because the Tree is procedurally generated anew each game, each "Mantis Tree World" is slightly different from your previous experience :)
Here's a quick visual overview of your Mantis' Six instars, from Egg to Winged Adult!
Camera, performance and animations are 3 areas that need improvements, upcoming updates will address as many of these as are possible now. "Living Tree World" is the key concept behind this update with the Praying Mantis Lifecycle occurring within that context. Ultimately several compromises had to be made to the original vision due to limited resources, but upcoming updates will keep adding to this vision across the game.
Players who are having any particular issues with this update - particularly Camera, Movement or Performance are requested to check back for subsequent updates, which will hopefully happen soon. ~
First of all heartfelt gratitude to all the supporters of this game and for your support through all these years. For those wondering about why there were no updates for so long, it has not been possible to sustain the game's development due to low sales in the past several years. Hopefully this will change in the days to come and it will then be possible to make more frequent updates :) Thanks to everyone for your interest in this game!
I hope you enjoy playing the Praying Mantis Lifecycles update! With Love, - Venugopalan Sreedharan (Developer of Nature & Life - Drunk On Nectar)

Drunk On Nectar Linux [6.07 G]
Drunk On Nectar is a Nature Sandbox game about animals, plants and ecology. Multiple game-modes allow you to either play as a creature yourself, simulate ecosystems or create scenarios of your own.
DoN aims to provide the most comprehensive nature experience gaming has ever seen. To this end, the game has been built at invertebrate-scale (a micro world) for an unprecedented level of detail. Plants in DoN are not flat props but living, growing entities that flower, pollinate and propagate across seasons like real plants. Finally, each species has unique gameplay depending on its morphology.
The current release features four invertebrate species: Jumping Spider (Phidippus Regius), Butterfly (Viceroy), Dragonfly (Common Hawker) and a Bee (Solitary) along with three flowering plants: Orange Lily, Greater Knapweed, Imperata Cylindrica (Grass) and a non-flowering plant: Fern. Trees and other flora are also featured but with only limited simulation at present.
Additional species of animals, plants and ecological phenomena are planned for addition once the game's EA goals (read above) have been met. You are welcome to vote for a creature or plant you're excited about for addition in the community forums!

While no game can possibly cover all of Nature, Drunk On Nectar is a sincere commitment to go as far as one possibly can.
