Legendary Lord Tyrion defends the Mosquito Swamps from Lord Mazdamundi's Lizardmen Horde. This battle gives a greater, more in depth look at the High Elf roster and how they play, alongside some new elements of the Lizardmen roster not yet showcased.

This battle was created in a custom battle using an early work in progress of the game, and some elements, such as visuals and stats are subject to change.

Meet Kroq-Gar…

Kroq-Gar is an ancient Saurus, the last remaining warrior from the now ruined temple-city of Xhotl. It was none other than the great Lord Mazdamundi that summoned Kroq-Gar to his temple-city, choosing him to lead the great Saurus armies that remained. Since that day, Mazdamundi has assigned Kroq-Gar the sacred task of exterminating those creatures not part of the Old Ones’ Great Plan.

Over this long existence, Kroq-Gar has fought many wars – leading the armies of Hexoatl, or joining other hosts to aid them in battle. There is no continent upon which Kroq-Gar and Grymloq have not fought, but for the last defenders of Xhotl, the battle is not yet over.

The Temple Guard are a rare spawning of Saurus created to protect the Slann Mage-Priests and the temple-cities in which the Lizardmen dwell. They are armed with large ornate halberds, adorned with sacred glyphs and also bear distinctive helms fashioned from the skulls of Lustria’s wildest predatory beasts.

It is time to march on the Fallen Gates. The Elf servants have blasphemed not just by leaving Ulthuan, but by daring to interfere with the Cosmic Gates – an ancient device that can open a portal into the Realm of Chaos. For such a heinous transgressions, the Elves must be punished as decreed by Mazdamundi, the Lord of the Solar City.

The White Lions have served as the personal guard of the Phoenix King since the time of Caledor the First. A warrior can only join the rank of the White Lions after displaying considerable valour and skill upon the battlefield. He must then also complete the traditional rite of a Chracian warrior - to hunt and kill a white lion. To slay such a beast is therefore an exceptionally difficult task but, if the warrior succeeds, he is entitled to wear the lion's pelt as a mark of courage.

White Lion regiments are often despatched to join the armies of Ulthuan during times of particular danger, tasked with protecting High Elf generals and mages, or bolstering the overall strength of the army. White Lions are renowned for their unflinching courage in the face of overwhelming odds and terrible horrors, protecting their charge whatever the foe and regardless of the danger to themselves.

High Elf Princesses pride themselves on their deep sense of honour and mastery of both the arts of diplomacy and war, taught to them from a young age. In times of conflict they demonstrate this prowess through their flexibility, perfectly capable of fighting with unmatched skill in the melee, or commanding their armies from a distance, directing the flow of battle as need dictates.

Witch Elves are the cruellest of all their heartless race, for they live only to serve Khaine's malevolent demands for bloody, agonising sacrifice. Their observances to the Lord of Murder are blood-slicked affairs.

Their truest observances, however, take place upon the field of battle. On the eve of war, Witch Elves drink blood laced with poisonous herbs, driving them into a divine frenzy. Whilst in this god-touched state, Witch Elves give no thought to their own defence, and seek only to hack foes apart in a blood-drenched orgy of slaughter. There is little grace to such an assault, merely a whirling storm of venom-coated blades that slash at the foe with maddened fury...

Of all the High Elf knights, it is the Silver Helms who are seen as the perfect exemplars of martial grace and valour to which young Elves should aspire. They are proud without being haughty, and brave without being undisciplined. There are few more glorious sights in all of Ulthuan than when a regiment of Silver Helms dips its lances and charges into the fray.

The Silver Helms are willing to throw themselves into the most dangerous of battles. They do so in the understanding that glory awaits those who prevail, and they are arrogant enough to believe they can succeed, no matter the odds. For these young nobles, there can be no hesitation in facing any foe - it is those victories that are hardest won which bring about the sweetest glories and earn the grandest renown.

Cold Ones are reptiles that live in the caves and tunnels beneath Hag Graef. Their chill flesh is almost immune to pain, and their bodies exude a toxic slime. Where the Cold Ones truly excel, however, is in service as war steeds for Naggaroth's knights. Though single-minded when hunting, Cold Ones are extremely stubborn and very stupid. It takes great strength and willpower to master such a steed, and those Dark Elves that do are feared, if not respected, by their fellows.

The most heavily armoured beasts in Lustria, Bastiladons are walking fortresses. Covered in rock-hard bony skin and further protected by massive, iron-like plates, they can thwart the bite of even the mighty Carnosaur. Skinks use all their wit and cunning to trap these behemoths of the jungle, then train them to fight alongside the Lizardmen war-host.

They are often deployed without adornment, where their natural mass and vast club-like tails can wreak havoc and inspire terror in the enemy front lines. Those Bastiladons declared by the Skink Priests to be favoured by Chotec, the Lord of the Sun, are equipped with Solar Engines – sacred arcane machines that blast forth beams of intense heat, burning the foe like the condensed rays of the sun itself.

How to get the Build:

1) Restart the Steam Client and log back in.
2) Right-Click Total War: WARHAMMER in the Steam Games Library, and select Properties.
3) In the Properties Window, go to the BETAS tab.
4) In the “Select the beta you would like to opt into:” drop-down, please select “patch6.1publicbeta –“
5) Close the properties window, and the game will update.

Just in case you missed it, we updated the Total War: WARHAMMER Assembly Kit Beta this week with a few tweaks and improvements:
·        Now works on Windows 7.
·        Battle Camera Mode has been added to the TERRY tool in the Assembly Kit and enabled by default. This camera mode behaves in the same way as the in-game camera.
·        Grass is now being generated properly for tiles in the TERRY tool. Hurrah!
·        Camera bounds tool has been removed.

We’re pleased to announce a large update for the Assembly Kit for Total War: WARHAMMER that introduces battle map editing! The map editor is called Terry and we’re currently in BETA with a full release slated for the end of the month.

BETA caveats:

• This Beta is for Windows 10 users only. Windows 7 and 8 will be available at full release at the end of February.

• Grass currently does not generate on maps in game.

Terry’s features:

• Land battle map editing for custom and multiplayer battle.

• Full suite of environment models, props, SFX and VFX for map creation.

• A.I. hints, deployment editing, no-go regions, terraforming, texture terrain painting, vegetation terrain painting and more.

• Customizable layout and layering within the tools for easy organization and navigation.

• Easy one click export that creates a .pack file for you map, allowing you to toggle it on and off in the Total War Launcher as you wish.

• Live map transfer in multiplayer. Simply host a game with a custom map and other players will download it automatically without the need to subscribe on the workshop. The maps will be deleted after the battle (unless subscribed to in the workshop or manually placed in the game data folder)

• Share maps via steam workshop and subscribe to your favourites. Having maps enabled will not affect your ability to join multiplayer games.

To access the beta: (only need to do this once)

• Log into your account that owns Total War: WARHAMMER

• In Steam, hover over “LIBRARY” and select “TOOLS”

• Search “Total War: WARHAMMER – Assembly Kit BETA” and install.

• Right-click “Total War: WARHAMMER – Assembly Kit BETA” and select “Properties”.

• In the Properties window, select the “BETAS” tab.

• In the “Enter beta access code to unlock private betas:” please enter the code: fjesij4issfgwse30s334

• Click the “Check Code” button, then select “cascade2 -” from the “Select the beta you would like to opt into:” drop-down box.

• The Assembly Kit will update to the version including the Terry tool.

To use Terry:

In Steam, Tools, Double click Total War: WARHAMMER – Assembly Kit BETA and select “Play Tweak (Database Editor)” and click “PLAY”.

Tweak will open up. In the “Plugins” section select “Terry”.

We'll have more detailed information and guides on how to make maps using Terry soon.

Unfortunately we can’t release a Campaign Map Editing tool for TW:WARHAMMER, as it doesn’t exist. The way we build the campaign map at CA is through a series of processes involving a mix of tech we make and 3rd party tools we don’t own the right to distribute, within a development version of the game. This is the best way for us to create our games, and we don’t use an all-in-one editor that you might be thinking of.

While it is theoretically possible to create an editor like this, it wouldn’t benefit our development process, would take us a long time and delay the next Total War releasing and would mean that we’d be making an editor and not a game, which is what we would much rather do.

Powerful warriors and excellent archers, they have two personal combat skill trees, each of which brings improvements to their archery and melee abilities. Likewise, their Battle trees augment their armies along two different paths – melee and ranged. They may also unlock three mount options as they level up: the Elven Steed, Great Eagle, and Forest Dragon.
