I am thinking about completely overhauling the game with new graphics, features and more polishing.

Small update and exciting announcement

Raining Blobs has been approved for Nintendo Switch release and the port is in progress! So excited, stay tuned for more info!
Small update brings:
- Replay Skip option, finally! You can still fast forward with button A and skip at any time with button B.
- Endless Battle is tweaked and should allow skilled players to go much further. New colors are introduced much later which makes this game mode much more enjoyable. If you could not get around 20 wins, this change will not make a difference to you.
- Core libraries update. Better gamepads support.
- Minor leaderboards score formatting tweak to properly handle 10M+ scores.

New update brings (plus previous update changes that were not announced):
- Slower AI difficulty increase in Endless Battle.
- Added visual cue when blobs are being switched in tight gap.
- When going back to menu score is automatically saved even if you don't enter player name and press OK.
- Finishing with continues in Tournament will get you on the leaderboard but it will include all retry times so players that finish without continues will still have advantage.
- Game Zoom options is removed from Options since it was useless and it is replaced with Game Effects. Under Game Effects you have 5 options that can be turned on and off by your liking. Some players complain that there is too much going on on the screen at some point that they can't focus on the actual gameplay so this will help those players enjoy it more. Available options are: board combo flashes, board speed-up rotating background, flying star trails, main background animation, main background visibility.
- Board combo flashing effect is disabled in Puzzle mode.
- Bug fixed when going from watching match replay to How To Play screen.

New update brings (plus previous update changes that were not announced):

Game modes, rules, tips and strategies explained
There is plenty to play in Arcade mode. -You can play alone or put all real/cpu players on same team to compete for high score and reach level 100. In this mode score matters the most and it is saved to local and global Leaderboards. Beside making high score and reaching level 100 you would also try to complete many of the achievements. -If you play Arcade mode with multiple real/cpu players on different teams you will fight each other. There are many achievements that can be completed in this mode. You can enable Fast Drop in Variants. With Fast Drop on you can instantly drop current blobs by pressing Up. There are many other things you can change in Variants like type of the garbage, number of colors and so on. Note: by changing Variants you can disable achievmenets. For example if you start the game with 2 colors and reach level 100 you will not get any of the achievmeents you would if you started with 4 colors which is default.
Fight against all girls and hidden character at the end. After finishing Tournament you unravel your character's story and unlock last hidden character and stage that become available in other modes. Finish Tournament to compete on local and global Leaderboards. You can compete on Tournament leaderboard even if you use Continues but all play times will be summed. The faster you finish it the better you are placed on the leaderboard. Other player can take control of the CPU any time by pressing Start on their controller. But in this case you will unlock nothing at the end.

Xbox One and Windows 10 versions support 8 Xbox controllers unlike the Steam version where you can have max 4 Xbox controllers and if you want more you need to add players on Keyboard or add non-Xbox controllers. Xbox One version also supports keyboard. Enjoy, Endi

Hope you are all having great holiday time and wish you all the best in the upcoming year! Small new update brings:
- Now you can compete on Tournament Leaderboard even if you finish it with continues. Those that finish without continues will still have advantage since times from the matches you loose are added to the final score. Plus whenever you continue the points are reset but those are not so important since Tournament Leaderboard is ordered by fastest finish time.
- Replay is now working on last stage in Tournament.
- If you press Start on name input to go back to the menu without pressing OK to confirm the name, the name is automatically confirmed and the score is added to the appropriate local and global leaderboards. I have noticed that some players enter their name without selecting OK at the end and because of that they are not placed on the leaderboards.

- Some under the hood improvements for Replays. There were extreme cases that could break Replays but not anymore. Also some minor Replay UI changes.

New update brings ability to watch REPLAY of all ARCADE and TOURNAMENT games.

Demo version limitations are greatly improved.
You can get much better feel of the game now compared to the old restriction of 90 seconds gameplay!
- 90 seconds demo gameplay limit is removed.
- Arcade non-battle mode lets you play until level 40.
- Arcade battle mode let you play until one player wins.
- Tournament can be played until stage 4.
- Endless Battle can be played until 5 wins.
- Puzzle mode can be played until 40th puzzle.
- Big DEMO label in main menu added.

Small update brings:
- Some small rare case bugs fixed in end state of Tournament.The bugs were only cosmetic and not game breaking.
- Ability to make moves after blob touches end is tweaked. This is noticeable on higher speeds, especially when playing Arcade on Hard. Let me know if this makes difference for you. Before this, on fastest speeds you had very little time to change your mind after hitting obstacle.
- Demo version is also updated plus the time limit in Tournament mode is removed and you can play first 2 stages without interruption.

- Leaderboards overhaul. Arcade Easy, Normal and Hard are separated. Font is bigger and more records are displayed at once for all leaderboard types.
- Any player can now take control of the AI opponent in Tournament by pressing Start. Once this happens in the Tournament run, all tournament achievements are disabled.
- Front flying star is bolder and some more minor tweaks.
This update is version 1.985, my birth year, reason to celebrate! :)

- Name input now lasts for 30 seconds instead of 20.
- Small but important garbage release change. If pending garbage is cancelled but new garbage arrives before your next blobs show up, new garbage will not be released as it was the case before but it will stay as pending. This is important tweak for chaotic matches, especially when many skilled players/CPUs are playing.

- New awesome music track by Bjulin (http://bjulin.de) ! The track is called Bonus 3.
- Great SFX improvements and optimizations. Now when playing with 4+ players the game sounds much smoother especially if you play 8-16 player matches. 8+ player matches felt like the game is trying to kill you with sound effects :) Not just that it sounds better but it also improves performance of the game which is especially important for the upcoming Android version. SFX of a type is not called more than once at a time and also the SFX volume is dynamically lowered by a % depending on how many players are playing

Anniversary update! Ver 1.93
Fixed Endless Battle bug that affected AI difficulty scaling when 2 or more players played together. For example if 2 players played together against 2 AI players, the first AI player would stay at the lowest difficulty and only second AI player would get harder as you beat it.
Since I got couple requests for removing girls from playing boards I added new option in Options - "Board Background" that let you remove the girls if you want to play on clear boards.

Updated MonoGame framework library to latest version. Updates to the library are not visible in the game, just some internal improvements and bug fixes that were not affecting the game.

New RULES option in VARIANTS. Now the secret "Match 4" mode is not a secret but you can choose it in RULES together with new mode "1 STAR". In "1 STAR" mode you play with no stars. Press UP to convert current falling blobs into stars. Only 1 star is needed to clear the group. Focus in this mode is on big groups. Achievmeents and Leaderboards are disabled in non default rules.
Endless Battle mode can now be played with altered rules but achievements and leaderboards will be disabled.
Endless Battle mode is a bit easier.
Small UI changes throughout the menu.
Added whole new Touch Input logic. Currently this works on Android but in future updates you might be able to use it with your touch display.

- Rare Puzzle mode bug fixed thanks to your youtube videos. Girl background was changing when it shouldn't and even glitching in a rare case.
- Small Leaderboards, Stats and Variants screen tweaks.
- Game should be starting a bit faster now before the Loading appears.
- If player 1 plays with gamepad and enters Keyboard 1 or 2 setup screens he is stuck there unless the keys are rebound. Now you can press back button on gamepad to exit.
- Fixed small Puzzle leaderboards glitch because Pipiru made 10M+ and broke the layout :)
- 3 new screen effects in options. Unlike the original effects, these don't kill details and text remains readable.

Redesigned first menu screen.
Improved blobs rotation. Now it is much smoother and a micro glitch where the rotating blob would disappear in one frame is fixed.
Rare hidden gamepads issues fixed. Issues were happening when 2 or more gamepads were connected and you would like to change P1 gamepad and some other rare cases.
Micro adjustment of hold left/right movement.
Minor flying garbage stars improvement.
At the end of Tournament there is now total play time if you finish without continues.
When you get 90 or more garbage accumulated the release timer starts counting down right away and not at the moment when new pieces show up.

After so many updates I can say that this is the ultimate version!
Now I will probably focus on porting it to Xbox One and maybe other consoles/devices later on.

New PUZZLE mode! Solve 100 mind bending puzzles with just one pair of blobs. Play it alone, with friends, with bots or all mixed up!
6 new Puzzle mode achievements.
Fixed a small bug with garbage that becomes a color. When playing with less than 4 colors it would turn some garbage in a color that was not in your color set. This is a specific Variants setting combination that is rarely played.

Another quick update, v1.23
Fixed last very rare game crashing bug! The game had no bugs on release but there were couple hidden bugs that very rarely or never happened to you but now I can tell you there are 0 bugs! Some players might experience some display issues that are related to the specific hardware and drivers but that should be fixed very soon with the upcoming graphics library changes!
Minor menu improvements. Added left/right arrows around buttons that require left/right to change values.

Ability to change player 1 input after pressing start. If you started game by pressing Enter and you want to switch to gamepad or the other keyboard input, just press and hold start (Enter in this case) and it will take you back to Press Start screen.
Linux full screen issue fixed. For some Linux users the game did not start in full screen even though it was set to full screen. Now it should be OK.
There were rare random crashes on Mac version. The problem was in the sound engine and now it should be fixed.

First update brings many UI improvements: [olist]
Start Arcade, add all players (CPU or real), hold Start button/key until you see white flash and press Select button/key while still holding Start! Before you do this I suggest turning on random colors garbage in Variants.

Linux update [Arch Linux fix]

Some of you reported that the game is not working on Arch Linux. I just updated Linux version and it should be working fine. If the game is starting in windowed mode instead of full screen, go to Options and try changing in some of the Window Modes and go back to full screen. In worst case it should be working fine in Windowed mode if it has issues in full screen. Full screen issue happens in some cases, I don't see it on my Linux. More updates will be coming soon.
