What is in Yrminsul 1.51?


Yrminsul 1.51 is live! On the menu bug fixes and quality of life changes thanks to the community's feedback!

Let's jump into the most critical fixes:


  • Instability on OS X: that was a tough one. Yrminsul was tested on a lot of configurations. While it was running fine 9 times out of 10, frame drops could occur. We have deactivated Vsync by default, it gives a significative gain of FPS on most configurations!
  • Evolution Screen Locked: Conflict between saves could freeze all the saved games, it's fixed and you're saves are now working properly! Yay!
  • Settings not saved: This bug occurred mostly on Linux, it is no longer an issue because me have made...

Enhancements and new features (what a transition)!


  • Options Screen Remake: Totally revamped screen with new graphics, new options and no save bug anymore. You can play in windowed mode enable or deactivate V-Sync, rebind the speed up shortcup. There is unfortunately a little issue with dropdowns menus (click on the left side of the option to select it)
  • Crusade Attacks: We have revamped the Crusade. It will prioritize your weak points and won't crash on the same Island like before.

Minor bug fixes and improvements:


  • The small Spiders are a bit easier to crush (they still are pesky little things though)
  • In fast mode and at normal speed, Infamy is collectible for a longer time, making it easier to catch
  • The Self-Tower-Defense IV achievement is now obtainable. Build those turrets!
  • Enemies' collisions on Black Flag Island and Drake Island have been optimized
  • The proper amount of turrets slots are displayed on the map
  • Let's say goodbye to the Escape Key the ambush exploit ^^
  • The Steam Overlay pauses the game properly
  • The proper preparation background is now displayed
  • The Red Canyon's is displayed on the map as a dangerous Isle to attack, beware!

PSA: Roadmap | What you can expect from Yrminsul 1.51 which we'll try to publish this week!


Hi folks! First of all thank you for all the feedback, whether it was negative or positive, it was really constructive and let's talk about what next! But first, please consider liking this page, we only need 36 people to share it!

So let's talk about our roadmap!


We didn't want the release of Yrminsul to be seen as a disguised Early Access and we have put a lot of efforts into polishing it. Unfortunately some bugs have broken through all were added to our Bug Tracking Board: https://trello.com/b/AH440dKl/yrminsul-bug-tracker As much as we want to, we cannot solve all the issues as fast as we want yet. We'll try to push the update until friday and we can expect a validated publication before next monday. Here are our top priorities:

CODE RED


Those are our top priorities, they are game breaking and we want to fix them ASAP. We are talking about:
  • Instability on Mac - Yrminsul was fully tested on Mac before the release, no bugs where spotted yet it seems that it depends on the configuration.
  • Conflict between saves leading to the impossibility to access the Evolution panel. It's a tricky one which wasn't easy to replicate but we have found what causes it and the save system is being fixed as now as I'm writing this post :)
  • The option menu doesn't save the settings - This menu is the only half-assed feature in Yrminsul it will get a complete overhaul.
  • Last but not least - Windowed borderless mode - By our fault it was deactivated when we built the steam version of Yrminsul, it will be activated again for the v1.51 Yay!

  • The Crusade attacks always the same islands - we have totally changed the algorithm. It is already fixed and will be published.
  • Option screen overhaul - bugs, missing key rebinds and uglyness, we'll make a brand new screen. It was already in works but not yet ready for the Steam Release.
  • Make ii clearer that the Red Canyon needs something special to be won
  • Improving the spiders hitboxes and fixing enemies' collisions in some levels
  • Can't unlock the Slef-Tower-Defense Achievement has been fixed and is waiting to be published
The yellow and green tasks are mostly cosmetic or typos. We probably won't be able to solve more issues but keep posting your bug reports and suggestions, we love your feedback! Thanks a lot for your support and have fun! Team Black Flag

YRMINSUL is a strategy game in a persistent universe where each combat is held in the form of a Tower Defence. Crush the forces of good!

Tower Defense:

You love the frenzy of the tower defenses? Yrminsul is a fast paced tower defense in full 3D with a lot of content: +30 enemies, three types of enemy armies (Goblins, Monsters and Elves), 15 upgradable turrets, 16 spells and +30 levels with unique moods and design...

Tactics:

Before each attack, you have to choose carefully 4 turrets and 4 spells to use while defending. Knowing the enemies' strenght is important as you can go for single target damage or area of effect havoc; magic or physic damage; slow, stuns and other forms or control... Each army attacking you has its own strenghts and weaknesses, you have to know them to succeed!

Strategy:

Choose carefully which Island to invade, spy on the enemy to evaluate his forces. In Yrminsul, your opponents try to reclaim the islands you control. You will have to defend your territory from your enemies' sneaky attacks. At the same time, you will invade their Islands. You can go back and forth between the islands because the universe is persistent: when you build a turret, it will stay on its island unless the enemies gain control of the island.

Resource management:

In Yrminsul, you have to manage one main resource: Infamy. The infamy is your potential evilness and allows you to build defenses, to research new towers and spells, to spy on your enemies.... You have to manage carefully your infamy because you need to unlock new powers to face the strongest enemies. But doing so, would you have sufficient resources to defend your territory?

Universe and backstory:

As a RTS campaign, Yrminsul has a storyline and a universe you can explore. Each of the +30 levels has its own details and secrets, and more than 10 interactive comics unveil the story of Yrminsul!
