Disturbed Beyond Aramor 2.8 Build Update | Bug Fix

Updated the game engine after a few years now. Due to this, a number of bugs are fixed. Fingers crossed this also fixed a lot of the crashing that was taking place. After some playtesting, the errors I replicated have been resolved. If there are more issues, please let me know and I'll see what I can do. I've been inactive the past few years. The year 2024 will bring something new.

Holiday Fix and Game Completion Guide

Fixed a number of inconsistencies throughout the game regarding the combat and some of the routes you can take. I took some time this week to create a guide. It was more time consuming than I anticipated, but it has been interesting going through the game again. I encourage those interested to try for a 100% completion. Upon doing so, please leave your thoughts via a discussion post or game review. Thank you. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1940677570 Merry Christmas! dba_Sacred

I just want to thank those who have taken the time to report bugs and suggest improvements. I also appreciate the kind feedback that I have received over the past few weeks. For those who haven't, I encourage you to leave a review for the game and/or feedback in the discussion board. It really helps me as a developer know where I succeeded and failed. Thank you for your support. ːdba_Sacredː

Slammed down some gameplay footage

I realize the static screenshots do not properly reflect on the game and what it offers. I apologize to those who have been patient with the release of information. A gameplay teaser has been added. I've taken a fair amount of the weekend patching the game, and it is my hope that people can play the game without any issues. If there are any issues found, please report them on the discussions board. This also goes for those who are interested in doing localizations for the game. Paid localizations right now are dependant on the game's success. I thank everyone that has helped inspire me to finish this game. If you played the first one and enjoyed it, know that this game was designed for you. ːdba_Disturbedː

Moved launch back a few hours

After discovering some progress-halting bugs, the release will have to wait a few additional hours. Hopefully by then all the issues will be sorted out. Thank you for your patience.

Only a week before the planned launch of Disturbed: Beyond Aramor

There is so much that I want to share, but doing it in a post like this, it's hard to get the message across. The creation of this game has been quite a journey, and even now, there are a lot of kinks to work out before the game is ready for the public to see... But I'm optimistic! Sometime I'll have to make a documentary or something, but for now, I just wanted to inform everyone that May 18th is the intended release date. Follow and wishlist the game if you haven't already. It's going to be good! That being said, I hope to be a bit more active on the announcements and being transparent. Even after the game release, I hope to improve and make adjustments where needed. 'Disturbed' still needs a Linux fix, so I'll be working on that soon. I need to sit down and improve my website too, so that's another thing. There will always be something left to work on I guess. As mentioned above, I'd like to get a documentary out there of the creation process of Disturbed: Beyond Aramor. I look forward to sharing more with everyone soon. Thanks. ːwarhorseː

Note on Delay

Time has been flying fast these past few months. With little to no updates on the game, I feel I should make another post. Disturbed 2 will still require some time before being finished, and I owe an apology to those who were expecting this to be released this summer season. I was really confident that I could do it, but I was overambitious. I wanted to do so much more when I really should have kept things simple.

So... what's going on?

A lot of the story is in place. The artwork is what I am mainly working on right now. I draw roughly 3 images a day, and spend a day or two editing those images on the computer. I've been experimenting with some animations, and it would look really nice to get all the images animated - but it is a time-consuming process. At this rate, the game will require several months to finish these. I realize that this has been a learning experience for me, and as an indie dev... I got a lot to learn still. For those of you who have been waiting, I hope you understand. Thank you for your patience. I hope to share more of what I have been doing soon. ːwarhorseː

Small Update

I just wanted to make a post since I've been pretty silent for these past couple months. The game is still in development, but due to distractions and school, it will be likely that the game will reach completion around late-summer. In a lot of ways, this project has stretched me creatively, which came with some things not working as planned. A lot of story refinements have been made along with alterations of the script. This was done in part to help balance the game. Originally I wanted a lot of RNG involved, but I realize that for this visual novel/adventure hybrid, it probably would prove frustrating to a lot of people. So, a lot has been changed from the original drafts. Hopefully, with these things worked out soon, I'll be posting more visual updates. I have a goal to post another video in the near future that will display some of the combat, if not, a more refined representation of the game. Anyhow, I thought I'd make an announcement. The game is being developed, just slower than planned. Thanks. ːwarhorseː

The Game includes VR Support

Once stricken by a deadly plague some years ago, the little city of Aramor struggles to fully recover. Much growth and progress has been made, but will it be enough to save this shell of a city?

Your adventure begins as you take on the role of Gabriel, a young man who lives with his mother in Aramor. From what begins as a normal day, you quickly learn that there is nothing normal about it. With a world filled with mystery and conflict, where will your heart take you?

'The Sequel' to the game Disturbed

With the success of the free-to-play Disturbed, a sequel game was announced near the end of the year 2016. With such a demand for more to experience, story planning and development took place immediately. Now after several months, the time has come to share the details with the launch of the Disturbed 2 Greenlight Campaign.

Like the first, Disturbed 2 is developed using the Ren'py engine. A lot of the convenient features of saving and achievements are included due to this, along with controller support. Disturbed 2 will not be free however, and with this comes additional features the first game lacked. These additions include steam trading cards and a full original soundtrack.

Of Discovery and Opportunity

It was clear right away what was working, and not working, based off the reviews given for the first game. The sense of discovery and making choices has never been more important for Disturbed 2. This not only changes the narrative of the story, but how the player tackles various obstacles met throughout the game. Disturbed 1 kept players playing with its mysterious atmosphere and 'choose your own adventure' mechanics. Disturbed 2 does this very thing with more focus and flexibility, giving the player total control on the direction they want to go.

Unlike the first game, Disturbed 2 starts the player in a more linear beginning. Context is provided to the player, and once the player is set free, it is up to them how they want the story to go. For those who enjoy a story with depth, there are play options provided for them. Audiences that seek adventure and action from the start will find it easily without having too much story forced on them. Due to this design, the game may take several playthroughs to explore and achieve everything the game offers.

Another addition that the first game lacks is a more flushed out combat system. Something people did not like about the first game was the 'trial and error' deaths that would happen in the game. Disturbed 2 tackles this issue by having this audience more in mind. To briefly explain the combat, every weapon and ability has a strength and a weakness. All characters in the game follow this system, and the player can choose what weapons and abilities they can use to meet these challenges as they play. Because of this, there will be multiple ways to solve various puzzles.

With these changes and additions stated above, it is done with the intention to provide a unique 'choose your own adventure experience' to the player.
