Happy Anniversary Farmers! June marks the first time Shotgun Farmers released in Early Access, and so every year we celebrated with some cake and fancy outfits! Forestside & The Beet Action Rifle

New Map: Forestside

Take a break this spring at Camp Forestside. Swim in Lake Quakalak, roast marshmallows by the fire, or ride down the zip-line to really take in the sights!

The new map is out now for everyone!

New Weapon: The Beet Action Rifle

CropGun Corp. has released a new veggie weapon, The Beet Action Rifle! This heavy sniper shoots a fast moving beet projectile that will take out enemy farmers in one hit. Make sure to lead your shots, because this one has bullet drop! Use the thermal scope to seek out other players, even through walls!

The BAR can be found in crop drops, crop dusters, and growing in the new map Forestside!

New Unlockable: Lobby Music

Lobby Music can now be found in the Farmer's Market! Select what song you want to play when starting up Shotgun Farmers. We've got a bunch of really cool songs created by our composer Julian Shanahan, ready for your farmer ears! New Lobby Music will be releasing in as we rotate the Farmer's Market.

New Weapon & Mutators Update

NEW WEAPON: THE ONIONADE

A brand new weapon has been created by the Crop Gun Corporation, the Onionade!

Throwing the Onionade will cause it to explode and create a gas cloud that both damages and blinds players. Look for them growing on different maps! This one'll bring a tear to your eye

Genetically Modified Options

Say hello to our version of Mutators! Genetically Modified Options can now be selected when you create a custom lobby in Shotgun Farmers! From faster movement to double jump, you can now setup crazier matches than ever before! In the Vampire GMO shown below, dealing damage heals you!

The Crop Swap update is here!

Jump into our newest LTM, which is pretty different from the ones we've had so far! Crop Swap is our Gun Game mode where you spawn with a Peavolver and upgrade your weapon by earning kills! Complete all 13 tiers to win the match! Kill other players with your shovel to downgrade their weapons!

New Weapon: HayK-47

The weapon idea created by you the community is finally here! The HayK-47, the first full automatic assault rifle in Shotgun Farmers! Spray deadly hay needles on your enemies and watch out for that needle in the hay stack!

New Update! Patch 1.6.4

Update 1.6.4 is here! The biggest new addition is Room Codes! Easily join your friends' matches no matter what platform they're on by entering the 4 letter room code they are in. You can find the room code in the scoreboard at any time. Streaming the game? Hide your room code with the new Streamer Mode and Private Matches! And yes, the Gromato Launcher has been nerfed a tiny bit.

Changes

Overtime and Sudden Death now have a 2 minute time limit, and will otherwise end in a draw. Rooms now have a Room Code you can share with friends to join your room. Rooms can now be set as Private, allowing you to kick players and prevent random people from joining. Use the Room Code to have your players join. New Streamer Mode setting in Options menu masks player names and hides the Room Code. Player skins no longer swap between blue and red. Zombies now have spawn animations coming out of the ground. New Lemonade and Crop Drop sound effects. Gun Cursor now animates to be tighter when youre aiming. The Randomize button in the Customize menu will randomize your shovel and badge. Kills, Deaths, Assists, Zombie Kills, and weapon kills are now saved when you exit a match or horde mode without finishing. Matches wait to start until all players have joined to fix countdown desync issues. Decrease Gromato Launcher plant growth to be 60% slower. Fixed Gromato hitbox requiring more accurate hits on players. Updated Japanese localization.

Fixes

Fixed muzzle flashes sometimes not showing. Fixed players spawning on top of each other in Victory screen. Fixed crash due to Gromato Audio Sources. Fixed players having floating white names when you join a match that has just ended. Fixed some player skins having a floating head when in camo. Fixed Diamond Body missing. Fixed player names missing in Social tab during a match Fixed controller & mouse sensitivity settings not working when taunting or riding pig.

Squads, Voice Chat, Lemonade, & Xbox One Crossplay Update

A super mega gigantic update has just arrived in Shotgun Farmers! Squads, Voice Chat, The Lemonade, Xbox One Crossplay, and more!

New Weapon: The Lemonade

A new crop drop shipment is in, and its pretty sour! The Lemonade explodes on impact and temporarily blinds players by squirting lemon juice in their eyes! You can even use it to confuse zombies!

New Feature: Voice Chat & Squads

Squad up with your farmer friends! Invite your Steam friends to join you on the farm or take on zombie hordes! Oh and did I mention we now support voice chat with squad members too! You can toggle voice chat and push to talk settings in the Options menu.

New Platform: Xbox One with Cross-play

Crop Drop Update

New Feature: The Crop Drop

Up in the air! Its a bird! Its a plane! No wait, thats just a Crop Drop.

Keep an eye on the skies for new supply drops filled with randomized guns, grenades, and even special weapons you wont find anywhere else! Crop Drops will spawn around the map every 2 minutes during a match and every 4 minutes during Horde Mode.

New Weapon: The Double Cob

We cant call this game Shotgun Farmers without having a double barrel shotgun! Say hello to The Double Cob:

Fire twice in quick succession without having to pump. Reload your Double Cob with ANY, thats right, ANY normal Shotgun plant. Only caveat though, it can only grow regular Shotgun plants! Youll only find the Double Cob in some Crop Drops during the match. Look out for that !

Diamond Farmer Outfit

Reach Prestige Rank 3 to unlock the full diamond body!

z0mbear Head

z0mbear has been an awesome influencer, championing Shotgun Farmers on Twitch and Tiktok. To celebrate him, you can unlock the z0mbear head in-game using code 'z0mbear'

Skyhook Badges

If you play my first game, Skyhook, you will now have access to these exclusive Skhook badges!

Changes

Increased Gromato explosion radius by 25% and buffed damage by 50%. Zombies now take 200% damage from explosives. Weapon spawners now start fully grown at the start of Horde Mode or when a new weapon is unlocked. Added outhouse voice sounds. Added special long distance sound effects for the Sniperagus. Remove Free For All and Jug-Or-Not from the Random rotation, but they are still in the game to play. These will be added later to a Solos queue. Random will only do team based modes now. You can now breathe underwater for 10 seconds instead of 3 seconds. Guns that player drop on death no longer rotate and have simpler physics, to maintain synced on the network. Gun cursor is now hidden when aiming down sights. Removed Trailer mode toggle. Removed 3 achievements that dont work properly: Love Divers, Sneak Peak, and Over The Fence.

Fixed rogue cake in the Church Bell on Graveside. Fixed getting assists on teammates. Fixed being able to jump through the bottom of the Oceanside reception tent. Fixed extra bots on uneven teams. Anniversary Event!

Happy Anniversary Farmers!

It has been 1 whole year since Shotgun Farmers released on Steam, and THREE whole years since we release in Early Access! That's crazy!

Limited-Time Mode: CARROT FEST

Everyone spawns with a Carrocket Launcher and no other guns spawn in this insane Vitamin K filled game mode!

Changes

Added randomize button to the Customize menu. Show item unlocked when using Enter Code. Leaderboards have been removed for now while we try to improve our leaderboard system to prevent hackers. Improved hats that didnt fit on Werewolf before. Updated Outfit icons. Increased Pineappenade damage radius by 25%. Hellish Harvester will have blue wings when friendly. DIsconnects should now show an error code for debugging when being sent back to the lobby. Trying to fix why players might be getting disconnected from Horde mode. Renamed US East and US West regions to NA East and NA West. Added Shovel kills to Profile menu.

Fixes

Fixed seeing the wrong ammo when spectating a teammate during Horde mode. Fixed grenades/throwables not always throwing from the players hand. Fixed death sound not playing in 2D. Ancient farm legends spoke of a demonic farmer that plagued crop fields with fire. The arrival of so many Holy Grain farmers have distrubed the demon, and awoken the Hellish Harvester!

Horn hat unlocks at 100 Chilithrower kills. Hellish Harvester costume unlocks at 666 Chilithrower kills.

The Werewolf can now wear hats! What combination will you choose?

55 new country flag badges. The Werewolf costume can finally wear hats! Juggernaut now recovers 1 shield every second while alive up to 300 max. New walk animation for when players are aiming or charging their weapon. Improved hit boxes for Cows heads. Improved hit boxes for Jugg Stalkers and Splode Stalkers. Strawbowry damage is now maxed at 100 for body shots and 200 for head shots or burning shots. Your forward momentum will no longer be affected when falling while aiming down sights or charging your arrow. Added steam particles when a farmer enters water while on fire.

Horde Mode Updates

Added the Strawbowry to Horde Mode Wave 35. Weapon alerts will now appear in the HUD when a new weapon unlocks during Horde Mode.

Changes

Added the Strawbowry to Countryside, Westside, Graveside, and Darkside. Added a search bar to find rooms in the lobby. Removed being able to customize room names, due to too many rooms with bad words in them. You can find a room using the search bar now though! Fire particle will now adjust intensity for lower quality settings. Find Match will now not choose Horde Mode matches. Shield bar will now always show in your HUD.

Fixes

Fixed bug where you cant hold down the LMG to charge after harvesting it. Fixed teammate having a red shirt if you join the match while they are in camo. Fixed blue sparks when hit by a zombie. Fixed red outline on enemy player with camo. Fixed being able to switch weapons before throwing you gun away after running out of ammo. Fixed zombies unable to climb the tractor in Darkside. LIMITED TIME GAME MODE

Play the new Limited-Time Game Mode: Hide & Freeze! Available only during the Winter Event. Sneak around the level in a snowman disguise, or be a farmer and hunt down those melting pests.

New Shovel Skin

Unlock the brand new Snow Globe shovel only during the Winter Event!

Weapon Inspection

You can now press [F] by default to inspect your gun, shovel, or grenade!

New Cosmetics

New influencer hat and badge! Bit Gamer joins the battle.

Horde Mode Updates

Keep your farm safe! Zombies now kill any plant they touch. Rebalanced wave spawns for weapons. Fixed collision on Zombok and OinkZ heads. Bots will now stay in place while being revived. Reviving an ally now rewards you 50 points. Revives are now shown in the combat event list. Scoreboard will now show your revives instead of assists. Earn XP for reviving allies. Boss Wave monsters no longer give you extra points. Werewolves and Blood Wolves now run faster. Fixed Zombies aiming too low. Fixed Zombie mipmap texture bug. Fixed being able to move faster while downed by aiming down sights. Fixed disconnect issue when joining a room.

Added snow to the levels during Winter Event. Improved gamepad support for menus. HUD will now show the name of the weapon you are trying to harvest. Improved harvest detection. You can now harvest plants that are right under or you very close by without having to look directly at them. Major performance improvements across the board. Improved performance on bullet hole rendering. Improved performance on plant growth and ceiling detection. Added emote prompt on victory screen. Improved weapon drop physics performance by switching to primitive colliders. Improved sound effects performance. Improved AI performance. Rockets and Seeds now dont plant seeds if they directly hit an enemy. Reduced Gnome Axe requirement to 200.

Patch 0.5 - Jumping Bots Bug Fixes

Welcome farmers new and old! Thank you for continuing to support Shotgun Farmers! As always if you ever have any feedback or ideas, just let me know about them here on Steam or on the Discord! Here's whats new in this patch:

Updates

New improvements to AI. They can now jump! They also climb ladders and fall off roofs correctly, instead of zipping up and down. They also have smarter targeting and aiming for the different weapons.
Weapons now have a minimum distance before fall off damage is applied.
Added LODs to gun and plant models to improve performance.
Chicken will play a different animation if its not on the ground and will float when in water.
New Graveside Church model, with a giant hole in the roof!
Blood fx added when a shot lands.
Default match players is now 6.
Killer’s name shows in HUD when you die.
Longer respawn times during Sudden Death.
Added Leaderboard view to Profile area.
Updated Profile view to show weapon kills.
Carrockets and Tomatoes now go through teleporters.
Spawn base no longer heals you.
No EXP given if you have a score of 0 and 0 kills.
Removed the Axe from Riverside as its way too OP. Removed Axe achievement. (RIP my old friend)
Your badge will now show next to your name in the HUD.
Shotgun shells are now popcorn!

Patch 0.3 - New Map: Graveside

Updates

New map: Graveside Battle in the spooky graveyard, hop through the teleporters, and snipe from the bell tower.
New Hats: Bombkin, Witch, Chef, and Police Hat!
Increased EXP gained for wins, consecutive matches, and time played.
New spawning system to prevent spawning to close to enemy players.
Improved AI strafing and navigation.
Peastol now heals 70 HP

Patch 0.2 - Roadside Tomatoes

Updates

New map: Roadside. Fight the other farmers in the abandoned Beets Motel. Watch out for traffic!
New weapon: Gromato Launcher. Launch exploding tomatoes at your foes or bounce them off walls for surprise kills.
New customization: Icons. Choose and unlock icons that will show next to your name in the scoreboard.
New hat: Hard Hat
New Achivement: Hardcore Parkour
Powerups will now show transparent when they have already been picked up.
Added health pickup below Riverside bridge.

Patch 0.1.8 - Mute, Report, Friend Request

With this update you can now mute and report players who are being a jerk through the pause menu, as well as send friend requests to those who aren't jerks!

Patch 0.1.7 - Let There Be Bots!

Updates

Bots will now spawn in online matches and replace players who drop out.
Bots can now climb ladders and jump off rooftops.
Bots can now play all game modes.
Set how many bots are in a match in the Create Room menu.
Added game mode selection for Practice mode.
Added max bots option for Practice mode.
New spawning calculations to prevent spawning near enemies.

For this update the bots have been vastly improved from before, and taught how to play the different game modes. If you're waiting for other players in your region, you can play matches with bots online and other human players can drop in to replace the bots. Can now drop the chicken in Chicken Run by switching weapons.

Patch 0.1.4 - Random Game Mode Practice Mode Options

Updates

Random Game Mode - Game Mode will change every round!
Practice Mode Options - choose your map, time, and number of bots for Practice mode.
Added 3 new achievements, Triple Kill, Eggtraordinary, and No Asperascope.
Particle FX when healed by health pickups and healing teammates with peastol.
King of the Barn wont move the hill if the match is only 2 minutes or less.
Spawn invincibility will end once you shoot or melee.
Increase Peastol ammo to 10 and increased Peastol accuracy by 20%.
Combat events show weapon icons as red when its a headshot.
If other team leaves when there is still 1 minute left, match will not end.

Fixes

Fixed free for all ragdoll showing as red.
Fixed King of the Hill matches ending early.
Fixed sound effects playing lower during Free For All.
Fixed voices not playing in the character creator.
Fixed sniper and peastol shots not always accurate.

Patch 0.1.3 - New Hats, AFK Auto Kick, More EXP!

Updates

Added AFK Kick, if you are inactive in a match for over 1 minute, you will be kicked from the room.
Added EXP for playing consecutive matches. You will be rewarded for staying in the match!
More EXP for seconds played. You get 4 exp for every second you play, up to 1,000 EXP.
More Anti-hack measures.

Fixes

Fixed chicken sometimes flying off into space.
Fixed double/triple chicken bug.
Fixed spawning on top of other players in the house.
Fixed player outline showing as yellow even though they are not invincible.

Patch 0.1.0.5 - Anti-Cheat and Fixes!

Thank you so much for all the support and love for Shotgun Farmers! The response to the game has been more than I could have ever imagined! Today I released a patch that should help address some of the recent hacking issues. I apologize to anyone who had their play affected by this. This patch also adds sign posts to show you where the other guns spawn on maps. As requested, a vote/kick feature is in the works for the next patch, along with a switch teams feature. After that I'll be bringing you more hats and unlockable content and getting started on the next map! If you have any feedback or suggestions, please feel free to share them in the Discussions board. Shotgun Farmers is the Online Multiplayer shooter where your bullets grow the guns. Harvest weapon plants quickly for more ammo or let them grow for a larger clip. Aim carefully, as a missed shot means you've just gifted your enemy with the gun you're using!

Online Multiplayer Shooter for up to 12 players!
No reload means you have to grow your ammo! Shot by a sniper? Well they just planted you your very own sniper gun to fire back with!
Fight with 4 different vegetable based weapons, with more on the way.
Customize your farmer with unlockable player skins, weapon skins, hairstyles, beards, and hats!
Play 3 different game modes, each with its own twist on farming.
Battle across 3 farms, the Countryside, the Riverside, and the Westside.
Customizable room options and password protected games.

Weapon plants grow from the bullets that hit the ground. The longer a plant grows, the more ammo it will have.

Your trusty weapon, with a powerful blast radius and a maximum of 8 ammo at full growth.

Head shot the enemy farmers one by one from the highest silo! 4 shots at full growth.

These carrots are no joke! You get 3 shots at full growth, but the explosion is sure to destroy anyone around you. I wonder what happens if you shoot at your own feet..?

The fastest firing vegetable with 12 shots at full growth. Use the pea-stol to rip through your enemies, or shoot at your teammates to heal them!

Even when you're out of ammo you'll always have your trusty shovel. Of course, you run faster when you're holding it.
