Hyperstrange friends, RWS fam!
Hyperstrange-developed POSTAL: Brain Damaged, the action-packed DOOM Eternal-like spin-off of the POSTAL series is finally here, and if you own any of the eligible RWS or Hyperstrange titles, or some other staple throwback-shooters like DUSK, Hedon, or Nightmare Reaper, you can get PBD with an additional discount added on top of -20% release discount via one of the special bundle deals. Plus, we're happy to report it really SLAPS! With more than 1100 reviews it currently enjoys an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' rating, with more than 95% players recommending the game.

Yes, Hyperstrange really pulled this one off. The game is good and the release has been relatively bug-free despite the 2-week delay made explicitly to implement some bugs and stay on-brand. But it wouldn't be a POSTAL release if something haven't gone wrong. Many of you were waiting for the release of the POSTAL: Brain Damaged Official Soundtrack. The wait is finally over! The OST has arrived, and you can get it separately or bundled with the official Art Book in the POSTAL: Brain Damaged - Connoisseur Edition. [previewyoutube=q7UXDk9xsaM;full][/previewyoutube]
UPCOMING UPDATES
The Hyperstrange Dev team is very grateful for the amazing reception of PBD. This gives them even more motivation to improve and expand the game post-release. Here's what to expect soon:
- Post-release fix - an update taking care of the known issues reported by the players, that slipped into the full release (ETA: One week)
- Balancing update - some players, as well as some internet micro-celebrities, have brought to our attention that the game offers way to much ammo if you explore the levels 'Quake-style', and far too little if you prefer to push on 'Doom Eternal-style'. The update will take care of that issue, allowing everyone to enjoy the game in their preferred playstyle. The update will also reconfigure some of the enemy positioning, spawns, and behavior. (ETA: One month)
- New playmodes - With that taken care of, the dev team will proceed to expanding the game itself, introducing an oft-requested horde mode, as well as another playmode offering a new, and replayable PBD experience. (ETA: This summer)
- More to be announced!

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/going-postal-the-legacy-foretold-documentary#/
One week to go and your support has been incredible so far. Over 330 of you have helped PlayTest Network reach 90% of their established goal to fully fund this project that aims to document the good, the bad and the downright batshit crazy story of Running With Scissors and the POSTAL franchise.
When we first announced this project, many people were wondering why would we make a documentary in the middle of the development of POSTAL 4. So relaaaax, we are not the ones making the documentary and our games will always be top priority, especially during Early Access. Were just spreading the word to help the talented team of two passionate guys who want to make this documentary a reality.
If you cant donate via Indiegogo, heres some alternatives:
Donating directly to their PayPal account, playtesttv@gmail.com | Your matched donation amount will place you in with their current perks.
They can also accept checks via snailmail. To get their mailing address, send them an email to playtesttv@gmail.com
(Outside of Indiegogo) They will gratefully take donations even after the campaign ends. As they begin post-production, they fully anticipate more challenges as they move forward with finding a distributor.
Send this campaign to any documentary or video game enthusiast, right now! They might not know about Postal, but you might introduce somebody to their new favorite game! And or they might never talk to you again. Could go either way really.
Were so close to reaching that goal, we can already taste Krotchys nutsack!
And remember, even if you dont donate, just spreading the word is already a huge help. So please help us spread the word and make this documentary a reality!
As always, thank you all for your continued support! <3

POSTAL: Brain Damaged, the retro-styled FPS spin-off from Running With Scissors outrageous series enjoyed by millions, will deliver crude and immature humor, ridiculous weapons, and old school challenge to PC and consoles in 2021. Developed by Hyperstrange (developers of ELDERBORN) and CreativeForge Games to be published by Running With Scissors, POSTAL: Brain Damaged gives a tantalizing taste of the madness to come in its debut trailer, revealed today at Realms Deep 2020.
One too many hits to the head (and hits off the pipe) has everyones favorite bathrobed anti-hero, The POSTAL Dude, reeling from brain damage. When he closes his eyes in a drunken, drugged-up stupor, he awakens in a psychedelic, grotesque, utterly twisted dream world. Asylum patients with dildo arms charge ravenously. Serial killer grandmas wield walkers in cut-throat combat. Beware probe-happy aliens reaching for the backside of The POSTAL Dudes bathrobe.
Shoot through stages of escalating insanity, beating back the nightmares with bullets and urine. Strafe, dash, slide, and bunny hop through massive retro-styled stages, including a grungy asylum, comic convention, Area 69, and more. Each of The POSTAL Dudes twisted fantasies offers new challenges and a characteristic flow from corridor shooting through secret passages to blowing up large, open spaces with perfect twitch reflexes but the hardcore spirit of badass 90s shooters bleeds from every orifice.
With a heaping arsenal of nostalgic, bombastic weaponry, POSTAL: Brain Damaged delivers a pure boomer shooter experience. Eviscerate enemies with the double-barreled shotgun, remove flat-earther heads from afar with the devastating railgun, and attach the cat silencer to blast aliens and military zombies with feline style.
POSTAL: Brain Damaged boasts the series beloved over-the-top parody and satire of pop culture, politics, and modern society. Escape from reality and unwind while beating back hippies, fleeing from flying fluids, and wiping out enemies to your hearts content while pixelated blood spurts forth and a thrashing old school soundtrack thumps with every gun blast.
They just dont make badass shooters like they used to, said Vince Desi, founder of Running With Scissors. "Brain Damaged takes the torch from all the pretenders while excreting everything fans want to see from the series that once birthed The Worst Game Ever. The Dude is back and dirtier than ever!

Ah, Christmas I hope you will excuse the rushed nature of this little holiday message, as I am currently at a bus station, waiting for a bus to visit my relatives. I could have just wrote Merry Christmas, everyone! and left it at that, but I had some more sincere thoughts on the mind that I wanted to share. It would be easy to just wish everyone a merry Christmas, and to say that we hope your holidays are filled with nothing but joy and love, but we know it doesnt always work out that way. While some are finding it easy to cozy up with loved ones, with a big merry feast, others are alone and dealing with hardships. Christmas itself doesnt magically make everything better for everyone, everywhere. A lot of us still end up having to deal with unfortunate circumstances. Maybe you find yourself alone this year. Maybe you are forced to work, or otherwise spend the evening away from your loved ones. Maybe some recent tragedy has left a painful scar. We know all too well how rough life can treat you, when you're supposed to be given some reprieve, at least once a year. But ultimately we cannot expect circumstances to carve our happiness for us, can we? Happiness is not something that just happens; it is hard-fought and earned through striving for it, in spite all the gut-punches that life and circumstance may throw our way. It is self-made, through a stubborn desire to not allow things beyond our control to dictate how we should feel and how we should spend our days. We are the masters of our own fate, and we make our own joy when there is none to be found. That is the resilience of the human spirit. So from the bottom of our hearts, to all our fans, friends, family and loved ones, to all the freaks, NEETs, creeps, loners and weirdos out there, we wish a very Merry Christmas and we sincerely hope that all of you manage to find the will and stubbornness to find some joy and happiness tonight!

We're aware that we've been pretty quiet for the last couple of months. Some of you may know that this is due to us being busy with a new (secret) game that we're working very hard on, which leaves us very little time to do anything else. However, we're also very aware that we've left a few loose ends which we've finally taken the time to address. Today we are updating POSTAL Redux on Steam to version 4.3.0, which aims to fix most of the biggest issues that have been plaguing the game. Hopefully, this means that all of you will now be able to enjoy POSTAL Redux to its fullest, leaving us a bit more free to work on our new stuff. Until we find out that we've broken something else, that is...
First off, we're pleased to finally fulfill our promise of bringing you the POSTAL Redux Soundtrack, which should now be freely available as DLC for all Redux owners on Steam. The soundtrack includes everything from those disturbing loops that you hear in the main menu and title screens for each level, to the tracks that play during Rampage Mode. All of these tracks were created lovingly, by our friends Takumi Sloan and Sean Terry, our Sound Designer Kurt Willoughby, with additional production by Tom Wiseman and Rikki D'Angelo. Each track was made in service of the dark, dirty, gritty, gruesome, disturbing, psychopathic aesthetic style that permeates the game itself, so if those adjectives describe the kind of music that you like to listen to, then you just might enjoy what the soundtrack has to offer. Of course, if downloading it from Steam is too inconvenient for you (or if you don't actually own a copy of POSTAL Redux on Steam - we're not judging), then you can check out this YouTube playlist, which contains all the tracks for your listening pleasure! Give it a try!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/513800/POSTAL_Redux__Official_Soundtrack/
How about actual game updates? Well, Linux users can finally rejoice, as the Linux port of Redux has finally arrived on Steam! This is long overdue and many of you have been patiently waiting for it all this time. We know being a Linux gamer is hard enough already, so this is something we're very happy to finally deliver. The Linux port shares all the same content, plus cross-platform multiplayer and Steam Cloud saves with its older Windows brother. Now, many of you who've already been playing the game will be happy to hear that the problems with long load times and stuttering gameplay should be a thing of the past, for real this time (we hope)! We've taken a careful look at how the game handles the loading of its assets and we've optimized it as best as we could, and tested it on a variety of machines both high and low end, the result being that most (if not all) of you having these problems should now see Redux loading and running as smoothly as it should! Also, in keeping with our recent streak of adding new language options for our games, we've updated Redux with a full Chinese localization and subtitles for the Dude's lines, in both English and Chinese as a little something extra for those poor souls out there who would like to go on a violent rampage across Paradise, AZ but just can't get past the language barrier. Other fixes include making certain weapons (such as the molotov) function properly in the Mines level, and adjustments to the weapon balance, particularly for Deathmatch mode which now also includes Carnival and La Palamino Resort as playable maps.
Feel free to scroll down and look through the full patch notes below. Let it never be said that we abandon our games or leave them broken, even if it does take us a while to get around to them...

It was in September, 1997 over 19 years ago (well round that out to 20, for marketing reasons) when us humble folk from Running With Scissors unleashed our Robotron-inspired isometric shooter POSTAL to the unsuspecting public at large. It was an instant hit, grabbing the attention of gamers, parents and politicians across the country, and weve been supporting and updating it ever since. But now, (almost) 20 years later, we are entrusting our fans with the future of our game, by releasing its source code to the public. Consider it a belated Christmas present! Its hard to digest how long ago POSTAL was released. Feels like it was only yesterday that our new fans were sending us wonderful e-mail to praise our work, and we received our very first lawsuit notice ah, those were the days. But its true (nearly) 20 years have passed us by. So much has happened in that time, that its hard to even keep track of it all an entire generation has grown into legal adults, while video games have evolved to levels of near-photorealism; plus were finally getting that VR tech that weve been dreaming of since before we released POSTAL. Its been a long and eventful couple of decades, full of change and advancement, but there is one thing that has always remained constant our continued support and updates for our baby. Thanks to the dedicated hard-workers in our team, the loving support of our fans and even the efforts by our detractors, POSTAL has seen a lot of activity during these many years an expansion pack, a lawsuit by the Postal Service, an exclusive Japanese edition, bans in 14 countries across the world, re-released special editions, sequels, digital re-releases, an Android port, new updates with twin-stick controls, a novelization and even an enhanced modern remake. Not too shabby for one of the three worst things in American society, wouldnt you agree? The remake POSTAL Redux was an especially big step for us; a passion project to make the original POSTAL again, but do it better this time, rebuilding it from scratch and focusing on making the most fun and exhilarating twin-stick shooter that we could by patching up the unfortunately outdated design decisions, and improve the game where we could. We even used the opportunity to bring old content, which was exclusive to the Japanese release of the game, to the west for the first time! For anyone who really wants to see how far POSTAL has come in the last two decades, there is no better way than by comparing the original to Redux. Its definitely been a wild ride for us all, and POSTAL means a lot to us its our baby But now were ready to hand the future of the little shooter that could to the public at large. People have been asking, and we have been promising this for years now, but today we are proud to announce that the source code for POSTAL is officially released to the public on Bitbucket, under the GPL2 license. Everyone now has under the hood access, to see what makes POSTAL tick, and anyone with the time and skills can now tweak/change/update/modify anything in the game at all! And hey, if anyone feels the urge to port the game to other platforms (The Dreamcast, for example *wink* *wink*), then they absolutely can! This has been a long time coming, and we are tickled pink to see what the community will be able to put together from this (no seriously, someone get on that Dreamcast port. Were not joking.). After 17 action-packed levels, you must be feeling pretty weary and tired. Wouldn't it be nice to take a vacation? Maybe a trip to a relaxing resort, or across the ocean all the way to the exotic Godzilla-stricken land of Japan? But first, maybe you'd like to stop by the supermarket, and ask nicely for a copy of POSTAL... This odd introductory paragraph can only mean one thing - the 3.0 Update for POSTAL Redux is now live , and with it comes a batch of new and familiar levels (among other things!). Just like the original game, POSTAL Redux has now been expanded with additional levels from the 'Special Delivery' expansion pack. Everything is here, from the EZ Mart and Shanty Town, to Earthquake and the La Palamino Resort. But wait, there's more! In addition to these levels, we've also brought back and rebuilt the levels from the Japanese-exclusive 'Super POSTAL' release - Tokyo and Osaka. All the levels you may or may not remember are back, redrawn, redesigned and rebuilt from the ground up. In addition to being playable in Single Player, across all difficulties, these levels are also fully supported in Rampage Mode and Co-Op Multiplayer, so bring a friend (or just settle for the Moron Clown Bots)! Speaking of Co-Op, we've also refined the Multiplayer quite a bit, with all the little things your heart wants - you can change your server name to whatever genital-related pun you like, everybody can see how many kills they've got and the in-game chat has also seen an improvement. We've also implemented a new cheat, which allows players to select other playable characters... but this feature is Not Important. If you prefer a Single Player experience, though, we've got a treat for those who told us that Hard difficulty was just too easy - a new Nightmare difficulty mode, which should give you all a run for your money. But if that alone is still not difficult enough, you can also try out another addition, included due to lack of popular demand - Classic Tank Controls. If you're feeling nostalgic for the old days of playing POSTAL, you can bind these tank controls, to achieve the same type of gameplay that you got in the original game, before we updated it to a twin-stick control scheme. Why you would want to willingly play like this - don't ask us. But it's there, if you want it! Other additions include a handful of new achievements for players who want to show off their sick gaming skills to the world, unique suicide animations for different weapons, which players have been asking for since Redux first launched, and all kinds of new post-processing effects, such as retro-pixelated filters or crazy sci-fi glowing effects. There's something for everybody, so try them all out! This version includes a build for Windows 32-bit operating systems that should automatically download for those using 32-bit. Note that the game officially requires a 64-bit OS, the 32-bit build is currently unsupported, barely tested and provided as-is Mac and SteamOS (Linux) builds are currently in the works Full change log can be found by clicking here

Note that the game officially requires a 64-bit OS, the 32-bit build is currently unsupported, barely tested and provided “as-is” Mac and SteamOS (Linux) builds are currently in the works Full change log can be found by clicking here

Here is the full change log from the update that went out yesterday.
- Implements a co-op campaign mode! Team up with up to 3 other Dudes and fight your way through even harder levels than youll find in the single player campaign. No friends? Match up with random Dudes online, or add some moronic clown bot allies to your game to help you out until some real players show up.
- Improved gamepad compatibility! Added an advanced Gamepad Settings menu where you can tweak everything about the gamepad that theyll allow us to. You can also open up an analog test screen which will show where your sticks are pointing. Fixed all kinds of crashes. Crashes suck. We hate em, you hate em. Hopefully theyre all gone now.
- Who wants some cheat codes? Use the text chat feature (T by default) to enter cheat codes during single player mode. Keep an eye on our Twitter for cheat codes, or you could maybe try some of the old P1 codes and see if any of them work No cheating achievements though, gotta do those the hard way.
- We fixed the Rampage mode scores. Now youll have to be REALLY awful to get an F. That A+ is still going to be a challenge to get, so make sure to keep that multiplier going, switch up your weapon every now and then, and dont forget those executions for bonus points!
- We also fixed up a lot of the maps. There was some weird stuff going on with collisions so we went ahead and got rid of them for you. Now you can fling molotov cocktails with reckless abandon!
- The sound effects are improved on most maps as well, we went back and turned off the Use Muddy Sound Effects feature. Not sure why thats toggled to On by default.
- The exit signs were a bit confusing so we put arrows on them so you know which way to go. Youre welcome.
- Tweaked the audible range and frequency of certain dialog lines, because some of them just werent playing at all and thats no fun
- Improved variety of animations of many NPCs
- Intro movie is now quieter. Im afraid youre just too darn loud.
- Intro movie now plays at the correct saved video settings, because why wouldnt it
- Fixed that annoying dotted box problem in the menu which hijacked the gamepad input
- Resolved various issues with the mouse cursor during gameplay and menus
- Speaking of menus, we fixed a lot of problems with them. Like the mouse doing weird stuff like moving to the corner randomly. And other weird we probably forgot about. Hey, its not like we can be to remember every single little fix we made, right?
- We also made the bullet icon in the menu shiny and spinning, because its 2016 and we can do cool like that in a retro-styled menu
- Game now pauses automatically if the Steam overlay is opened
- Added more loading screens, so you know when youre loading and you know when youre not
- Fixed a problem where certain enemies would stare off into space. We dont quite know what they were looking at, but be careful because theyre more likely to be looking at you now.
- Fixed the barrels not spinning when exploded on certain maps, because it was weird as hell to look at. Maybe thats what those enemies in the above bullet point were staring at.
- And a bunch of other we forgot about. See if you can find them yourself. Its like an adventure!

The ruthless simulated reduction of an entire town's population is hard work - long hours, little reward, a lot of safety hazards; but, by and large, the worst aspect of the job has probably got to be the loneliness. Anyone of you who has already played POSTAL Redux, be honest - after you were done killing every living thing in a single level, did you ever start to feel a little lonely? Did you ever wish, for just a second, that you could share the experience with another person? Don't you think that The Postal Dude could use a little bit of companionship? Well then Good news, everyone! Today we are launching the Collective Psychosis Initiative in Paradise, Arizona. Thats right POSTAL Redux now has cooperative online multiplayer, for up to 4 players. No longer will it just be you against the world. No longer will you have to bare the weight of all that killing on your shoulders, alone. Now you can bring friends someone you can trust; someone who will watch your back; someone you can pin the whole thing on, in the end! Multiplayer support for 'Redux includes harder versions of the campaign levels (and it will also support the additional 'Special Delivery and 'Super POSTAL levels that we will be releasing later), for 2 to 4 players. Dont have any friends to play with, and too afraid of stranger danger to risk matchmaking? No worries, well provide you with some (really dumb) clown AI bots, to fill the empty slots in the roster, and the empty slots in your heart. Theres also a new ending to see, for completing the game in co-op (the twist is that Postal Dude was the killer all along!). If you dont already own POSTAL Redux, then now is the time to join the insanity! If you already own it, then maybe pick it up for a friend or two, or three? Live a little! Weve got more stuff coming in the future, so stay tuned. But for now, we hope you all have a blast with this mode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQdSpV6atyI http://store.steampowered.com/app/401680

Hopefully you're all having a good time with the game and enjoying our passion project. If you have any technical issues, please post them to the forums - we review every single one and will do what we can to help you out. Please give us 24 hours to reply. Ditto for future update ideas. Much like POSTAL 2 before it, we'll evolve the product over time. Extra maps, co-op / deathmatch and other modes are all planned - at no extra cost to you. We've had many suggestions for smaller features (such as disabling the crosshair) that we'll also be happy to work in. If you're enjoying the product so far and would like to help support our efforts further, please consider writing up a Steam review. :HESSTILLGOOD: :FLAMENSTEIN: Best, RWS Team
