Hello everybody, Two months have passed since the release of Deep Sixed, and during that time we have released many small updates with bugfixes, usability improvements and new features. With the latest update (1.20) we bring you a new game mode that many people have requested. The "Endless Challenge" mode is a game without the main story line and without an ending. The gameplay is stripped to the basics and there are no story missions or cut-scenes. You explore the nebula, complete missions, upgrade your ship and try to survive as long as possible while the game gets increasingly harder. This mode is for experienced players only - those who want a real challenge. It doesn't end until you die, and when the game is over you get a score based on the reputation points you have earned in your playthrough. We hope you like the new game mode and all the other little improvements we have added. Check this forum topic for a detailed list of changes. Thanks again for all your support and the amazing feedback!

Hi everybody, we have been working hard to improve the game and fix all the glitches, typos, bugs and inconsistencies you have reported. Your feedback has been amazing and we're delighted that you enjoy Deep Sixed and that our game is getting so much love from players. We've uploaded many updates over the last few days and we're now at version 1.10. Here are some of the most important fixes and changes since the release:
- Some of the early "find and retrieve" and "find and kill" missions have been re-balanced to be less frustrating.
- Some of the maintenance tasks have been rebalanced.
- Permadeath is now disabled in Easy Mode. That means you can continue from the last save point when you die.
- Many small glitches and a few serious bugs have been fixed.
- Problems with the Mac version have been fixed.

Hello everybody! First of all, thank you all for the amazing feedback we got! Many of you seem to enjoy the game a lot, and we couldn't be happier about that. Keep the feedback coming, tell us what you like and what you don't like - and if you find any bugs, please report them so we can resolve these issues quickly. Some people have reported problems with the native Mac version crashing or freezing during startup - this has never happened during our beta test, so we're currently trying to figure out what is causing this behaviour, and why it doesn't happen on Linux or Windows. Stay tuned, we'll do our best to fix it as quickly as possible. UPDATE: The Mac issues should be fixed in the latest version.

Usually, when a developer updates their fans about a game's release date, it's to deliver bad news. This isn't that kind of announcement. You guys have given us all so much momentum these past few weeks, and the feedback we've received has been uplifting. We want you all to finally be able to play this game, and to be honest...we just can't wait anymore! So we've bumped our release date by a couple weeks to February 12th. We're looking forward to seeing your adventures as you explore the mysteries of the MG251 nebula. Good hunting!

We're excited to announce that Deep Sixed will be in your hands in just nine weeks. Our release date is set for February 27th, 2018! We're really excited to be at this point. If you're just joining us now on this journey, Deep Sixed is a truly one-of-a-kind space survival game that will keep you glued to your heads-up-display as you try to survive mapping deep a mysterious nebula. While other games might have you play the role of the stalwart space-captain righting the injustices of the universe, Deep Sixed is a love-letter to the Scottys, Geordis and OBriens who are out there with just a space-wrench and a roll of duct tape trying to keep the radiation scrubber from falling apart.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1029231300/deep-sixed-a-space-survival-adventure Why Kickstarter? Our goal is to release Deep Sixed by November 2017. We have identified several milestones to hit along the way. By the end of this campaign, we intend to finish the metagame. The ship returns to a prison space-station, a sort of central hub, where the player has a bed, a window and a computer with which they can communicate with corporate headquarters, repair their vessel and unlock upgrades. This is a place for recovery between missions and advancing the storyline, so we want to make sure there’s plenty of content here for players to be exploring. By July, we want the game hub where you choose between missions, upgrade your spacecraft, conduct repairs and e-mail corporate drones to be fully realized. By August, all of our cutscenes will be fully realized, and our dialogue completely recorded. By September, the game’s mechanics are in their final iteration, the missions are scripted and all of the creature behaviors are fully realized. At this point, the game is ready for testing. By November, we hope to have resolved issues that have come up in testing and will (with luck) be releasing the game for PC, Mac and Linux. In early 2018, we anticipate releasing the game for mobile devices.

We're not alone here.
A secretive corporation that holds a monopoly on the technology necessary to "fold space", travelling light-years in mere moments, has shown an obsessive interest in a large uncharted nebula in a distant arm of the galaxy.
The Pilot is working off the remainder of her sentence as an involuntary stellar cartographer for this corporation. She has been issued a small spacecraft that is equipped with a finicky deep space scanner and the support of an infantile Artificial Intelligence unit, and given orders to map as much as possible and report back with her findings.
What she discovers out there will change her life forever, if she can get back home in one piece.
Features
- Life without an "undo" button. Your ship stays with you from start to finish. If something breaks, it'll stay broken until you figure out how to fix it.
- A universe of procedurally generated mysteries for the ambitious explorer.
- A diverse ecosystem of intergalactic fauna with their own predator, prey and scavenger roles to play.
- A steep difficulty-curve that will push your ability to stay calm under pressure to the limits.
- A compelling story of friendship and compassion that promises to surprise and entertain.
