Were excited to announce that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Definitive Edition will be released on August 14, 2025!

The Definitive Edition will be available to purchase that same day for USD$29.99. Players who already own the Dawn of War Anniversary Edition will receive a 30% upgrade discount on Steam and GOG. This discount for previous owners will remain in place for the foreseeable future. The team has been hard at work updating this classic experience for modern hardware, but in the meantime, check out the classic Dawn of War trailer, newly enhanced in 4K!

A: This is a conservative preliminary minimum specification. Further optimization during development will bring this down before launch.

Q: Will you be adding any new content or post-launch DLC?

A: No. Our focus is on delivering the ultimate Dawn of War experience when we launch the Definitive Edition later this year that means everything players know and love from the original game all in one package. Well keep an eye out for any critical issues or bugs that need to be addressed after launch, but our primary goal is to optimize Dawn of War for modern hardware.

Q: Will you be making any multiplayer balance changes or quality of life improvements?

A: Though our primary focus is on updating the game for modern hardware, we have been keeping a close eye on your feedback. Multiplayer balance will mostly remain the same; however, we have been fixing some of the most egregious legacy bugs that should help improve the multiplayer experience. Though not all legacy bugs will be addressed for launch, we plan to be on standby to hot fix any high priority issues after the games official release. In addition to that, we are experimenting with changes to high impact items to improve general gameplay, such as the behavior of flying units or the pathing of infantry and vehicles, along with quality-of-life settings such as grid key presets.

Q: Does this mean that well also get a new version of Dawn of War 2 or any other Relic Entertainment games?

A: We can only talk about games that we have announced. Right now, were focused on supporting the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Definitive Edition and our other released and upcoming Relic games.
