I have received some rude mails from iOS players, because the game they have payed for is not available anymore on the store.
No i did not pull it from the store but apple did. Simply because they are changing some bullshit (rule) and if you do not adapt they remove the game, which is a cheek for all that have bought the game, because even if i can not sell anymore, players that have payed for it should be able to reinstall it how often they want to - this is the legal understanding of buying software, but apple can do what apple wants for sure...
I would love to bring the game back to the iStore- simply i can not afford it, because having it on the store costs me more than i earn there!
Why?
The expensive apple hardware stack that always have to be up to date!
The money i have to pay to sell. The shitty process of adapting anytime they change something - no one pays me for this! The outcome of the few sales are not even worth to mention!
For me it has always been about the game and those who like it, never about the money, but i can not pay that you can play!
I have invested 20 times more into the game than i have ever earned!
Anyway: Everyone that have bought the game on iOS can get a Steamkey for free, drop me a line and a proof of the sale. Simply because i want you to stay if you like the game.

take down the project soon.
I did not manage to mobilize and/or reach a serious amount of followers.
I have (again) learned a lot - today exposure is just a matter of money, which is ok in business, but i thought and hoped it is different in indy-games, but it is not like that any more!
I do not have thousands of dollars for "promoting" my campaign - otherwise i would not have needed a campaign - weird world...
I still believe it is not about the quality of the game because I also play a lot and VEmpire can compete easily with a lot of games, it is even superior when it comes to strategy or balance imo and also you guys are telling me the same in your mails - thanks for the nice words!
Anyway: Thank you very much for those who have supported VEmpire on kickstarter!
I think i will release the game as it is now (it has a lot to offer!) and if i can earn some money i will deliver the following campaigns as DLC, let's see...

We are thinking about trying an attempt on kickstarter to get the money for finishing the game - and finally release it!
I've played a lot in the last days, also again with my son felix, and i have to say: it is a great game, we really love it, so we have to continue development seriously.
Felix also played the first father campaign, and he loved it, just unhappy that it is already over...
We've also battled PvP, really loved it, and it is pretty damn solid, the hundreds & hundreds of hours of developing & testing - i can feel this now.
Felix said to me: "It is such a great game dad, it makes so much fun!" and this means a lot to me because he is a 1000's of hours Hearthstone player!

A new update is up, it is way more balanced as the first version seems it have been too hard, even felix complained.
In "The rise of the first father" you have to fight your way as 'Rudolf I' from 'The Habichtsburg' to 'Vienna'. You play against the other classes, which you know if you are a VEmpire fan are stronger than Rudolf I.
If you win in one location you have the corresponding location card as reward in the next place! are you tough enough?
btw: felix is already in triest, so hurry up guys!

Hi Guys! I hope you, your families and your beloved are fine! Yes it have been a long time, and a lot of things have happenend, to much to tell. But what you might be interested in, because i've received this questions: - Is the game dead? will it ever be released? We have not been able to continue development as we wanted to, because we simply did not have the money - for artwork, development is our hobby anyway.... However we still believe that the game is too nice, too well made, with so much passion, even if niche and not an AAA game to leave it in this stage. And: i want this game to be a short relaxation game for in between for much more players, even if we know we will never even earn the costs for our artwork. Long story short: I want to finish it and release it shortly. I can not promise you great new features and things or cards - simply not doable atm... But: i want to bring the game with the announced short campaign "The rise of the first father" If we earn some money for new work i can promise you: we will reinvest it! But his is not the point, i just want more players to enjoy the game - that's all. Therfore i also plan to drop the price below 10 bugs. Rudolph I / The Babenburg Legacy 1237-1526
He is known among his loyal followers as the “First Father”. Though the dark lineage of the Habsburg dynasty predates Rudolph by at least two centuries, the First Father overthrew the Bohemian King Ottokar solidifying Habsburg’s power and place in history.
Claiming a pure blood-bond to the originators of the house, court traditionalists (and many on the elder council of vampyrs) accredit Rudolph as the progenitor of the dynasty.
With many of the records of the 13th century lost to time, I have been unable to confirm or deny such boasts. Though it is without question, Rudolph is indeed one of the oldest documented vampyrs. In truth, beyond this I know very little of him.
Unlike the other undead returned to claim their dynasty of old, Rudolph remains far from prying eyes. It is rumored even those summoned to his cause rarely gain direct audience to the First Father. An ancient king who moves to rebuild his empire from afar… manipulating those around him from the shadows, as a master tactician plays a game of chess.

Async-Mode This is a hard one because technically not easy and as you've heard our technical lead is gone, this will be a true challenge, but we will hang in there... 2. "Adventures of The Kings..." Yes you read right! It will come... Each king can fight through his "version" of the habsburg empire. A lot of honor and additional, new cards will be there for you... The plan is to start with one adventure and give it to you before we move on. - Artists are already working on the adventure assets. We are looking forward to giving you a demo for the async-mode pretty soon! stay tuned, wolf....
Hi folks, true VEmpire lovers! I am very happy to announce that we have formed a new team for further development. But step by step... What has happened? After VEmpire has not made enough sales in Early Access, the team was disappointed and we did not have enough money for further continous development. Even more sad: our main developer started into another project... Anyway, beside a lot of stress going on around myself (job, family...) i've managed to bring up a new, small but very engaged team for further development towards the full release of the game. - this connects the power of attack cards to:
- amount of completed groups
- amount of locations in your empire
- amount of acquired cards (within this turn)
=> All cards are new rendered, 20% more brightness

Hi folks! Today I have mailed with the CEO from White-Wolf Publishing! The guy is a very kind person, and I am very happy about this, so we are optimistic to solve this in a friendly agreement! The thing with this "symbols", all from the mentioned Photoshop-BrushSet are their property! Anyway we've removed all of them from the game already, the screenshots are also new and cleaned from them! The next thing is the video(s) this one is harder, one I've taken down, the other one we will maybe make new, but this will take some time! Please give me your opinion about the new PowerCard-Symbols! - like them - hate them What do you say about the "Sum-up" of the mercenaries, it comes from mobile, because of limited space, but I like it on desktop too.. whatever, let me now! cheers, so far wolf...

You might have realized that VEmpire is taken down because of: DMCA copyright issue because of this symbol of this company: https://www.worldofdarkness.com/grimoire/clan/Brujah We have never heard or seen anything of this company before! This Symbol was unfortunately used as part of a photohop-brush set by one of our artists! No one have had the intention to copy anything, so it is our fault, yes you can not even use a brush without checking! Over the last four years we have developed and invented all by our own: Story, Theme and art is our own legal property, it has been developed and drawn by hand by my very talented artists. We are proud to have this consistent theme which is very rare today! It is very unlucky that this sign has been used, it is something that has been attached afterwards, what a pitty! We are already working on removing it, it is on 4 cards! We are very sad that this is a reason to take the game down. The company also have could talked to us, we would have removed it immidiately! Steam says we should make an agreement with them, which we are trying to achieve asap! Unfortunately we do not have an answer from them until now! I hope you still stand behind our project, you know about our big plans & our dedication! Hi folks! I am really sorry for the silence here on steam, but some of you might know that we are busy preparing the upcoming iOS version of VEmpire. Anyway a lot of good things and improvements have found the way into the game. Most things however are in the background about stability and robustness. The feature i like the most and came from a mobile VEmpire player is the Mercenary Sum. This is just, to save space, Mercenaries are aggregated in the empire, so that there is just one card visible with the number of the amount on top. Simple, but a great improvement regarding clarity. So stay tuned, the update comes soon, and please keep the fingers crossed for the app-review by apple. cheers, yours wolf!
Update is live. We've the mercenary replacement removed, let's see. If with this there is a feature gone that you've loved, tell us! There have been many bug-fixes. Overall there is a big improvement introduced which also means the server is updated, which is a rare case. The PvP communication should be much more stable and solid. Hi folks! First of all: thanks for your great support & contribution during the last days, especially thanks for the pos. reviews! I love you guys, and i am looking forward to bring you new and amazing content. -START-DECK Issue: As experimental idea(as EA should be used for) we introduced to choose to replace 4 mercenaries. The thing is now: There are guys that obviously like this, and there are ones that want this to be removed! I can understand both sides, but at the end of the day i am more on the side of those who wants it to be removed. Why: It is somehow against a 'clean' game-design, and this modes are more for learning and showcasing. With this feature games are more unbalanced because it matters more what you draw first. Anyway I understand also the other side. Also we've gathered great input for 'other' start-deck improvements, as a mix of mercenaries, where 4 of them also give you a gulden if empired! - But nothing to choose, this would be default then! Think of this, this could be really nice, i think. However: I really need your opinion on this! Looking forward to a discussion ːsteamhappyː wolf...

Hi guys! During testing "cross-platform" with iOS we've detected some nasty bugs. The good news: we "have" them , they just need to be fixed, but wisely... So expect an update in the next day(s)! As i've promised, the work on mobile and testing "cross-platform" will improve the quality of the game! This have not been just words as we see now! Also we never thought of different scenarios of "bad" connection in PvP which really is an issue with mobile, so we are also improving the game to be much more stable in situations where connection get's lost or times out or whatever... cheers, wolf... Hi folks! something about the reviews... i've the feeling that just a very few people that like the game write a positive review... Anyway a big thanks to you guys, that have helped me with one, it means a lot! I love critics but what i get to read in the negative reviews....hmmm There is an ongoing discussion in the dev-forums that someone should have at least a little time spend with the game. Take the last review: "The game itself is kinda cool, with interesting mechanics. But the whole digital thing is awful, badly designed, way too slow and complicated as eff." I do not want to say anything about it.. Just: the same person has given a positive review for Ascension!? Have you ever played it on PC? And VEmpire is "awful" and badly designed? TBH some days i really feel like an idiot, doing all this... sorry guys, but i am honest, and i honestly feel sad about this... tell me what you think! cheers, wolf

I've switched the update to "live"!
the major things beside bug-fixes and smaller things are:
- choose different startdecks, in PvP the first one chooses!!!
vs. AI you can always choose it!
- if the attack cards are gone you have +1 attack static!
- you can now cancel banish, clone, revive cards, this means if you 'leave' they go into your discard-pile, not into the graveyard!
you can have much faster and intense games now.
try the deck with the locations first, this with the static +1 attack, i love it,
it's awesome to throw those huge attacks against your opponent!
please alarm me if there is an issue with the version!

Hi folks! If developing a game for such a long time someone get blunted some day. But what has happened 2 days ago was amazing! I caught myself shouting out loud while hammering 10+point attacks against my (AI) opponent! It was fantastic, and all this has happened with the soon upcoming new start-decks & the static +1 attack feature... I'm sure they will blow you away also. The whole 'up-building' is shorter, the game is faster, and more intense... I also have to say thank's to felix, my beloved 9 year old, because he is the one that experimented a lot with different start-decks in 1000's of games, without him the game would not be that mature as it is right now! Expect the update today or tomorrow, i'll announce it! cheers, wolf...

Folks there is a lot of going on behind the scenes:
1-> Bug fixing - always our nr.1 prio!
2-> We're figuring out something to make the end-game more juicy!
Imagine a static +1 attack card behind your attack-card stack, this means:
if the attack cards are empty you have +1 attack for every attack!
This forces you to hinder your opponent to focus on attack-cards.
I think this would make the game more offensive.

Hi folks! Although it was planned for today, i want a little more testing! There comes a little change in game-mechanics: Recruiting Mercenaries will be available always! This means you can choose as many mercenaries as you need for every card in the marketplace, for sure just once per turn! Until now it is only available if at the start of the turn there is no card affordable. But this is confusing because what if drawing ability is available... so this seem to be a little confusing and because of your feedback we've decided to try it with this change... curious about your opinion on this! cheers, wolf....

For the PvP fanatics: I've uploaded a test brunch, go to properties-betas and choose ingame_notification -brunch this brings notifications if you have been invited, or if the player has accepted, while elsewhere in the game, but not if you are already in a PvP duel! furthermore you see immediately how many are online in the online-page. You can not invite vice-versa anymore... please check the brunch - this will help us a lot! you can always switch back! also you can turn off notification in the settings! hope you like it... cheers, wolf....

We are working and investing into this project since 4 years (I started on twitter even 2012: https://twitter.com/WLueger) and there are no plans to stop, the opposite is the case: We've just started yet, and we already see how beneficial it is to have the game in Early Access. There is a lot more to come, i promise you. We believe in this game because we are playing it 4 our self and compare it to the competition and we honestly come to the conclusion: we do not have to hide behind the much bigger and famous titles, there are just a few that are really good! For sure there are things to improve - but the thing is: with your help we can! Not only faster but also better than others. I really want to thank all that supported us so far! The development of this game is absolutely save because we all have "true" jobs aside, although for sure we need sales for further investments! The last weeks we've highly focused on the game-mechanics & game-play of VEmpire.
Although we loved it as it was, we wanted it to be more "accessible"!
But this does not mean that it will become more casual or simpler but decide for yourself, just very roughly the main changes:
- It is not to collect 50 points first to win anymore!
- Both player start with a certain amount of empire-points, and it is your goal to knock down your opponent to zero first, to win!
- Therefore we'll introduce "attacking" as new mechanic!
- So there will be a new type of cards: attack-cards, which can also be used to buy better cards just like empire-cards, but in opposite to empire-cards which are gone once they are played into the empire, they can be used for attacking again because they are drawn again!
- Blocking: this is so awesome because it just works in your hand! This means: if your hand contains blocking cards they defend attacking-points, but: your opponent do not see them!!!! Every time they are drawn the blocking power is refreshed!

...awesome!!! as far as we've tried it until now....
I truly believe that VEmpire brings so many new mechanics into the genre!
It is not a hearthstone-like game as 99% of the card-games out there!
With the newest additions it will bring much more interaction into the genre of deck building also!
Additionally, we have so many plans to improve the game-genre even more in the future: e.g. "Cooperative Buying" etc...
But all this needs really a lot of time to work properly, so I realized that patience is very important, not only for you guys, but also for us developers.
At least as it is with us: we can not rush it!
It is enough for now, please let us know what you think, and do not hesitate to ask: whatever...

Hi Friends, Follower & VEmpire Lovers! I've set a new date for the EA-Release: 2.Oktober! Since this page has gone live we’ve got a lot of great feedback & contribution for VEmpire, I really did not expect this, thank you all! But we also realized that there is a lot to improve! We use the next weeks to sit back in a dark room and prepare the best VEmpire we can! Even if also really tired from all the work: We are more excited about making VEmpire a great game for you then ever! I'll keep you in the loop... thanks & cheers, wolf....
My Dear Followers! It is hard for us but since there are too many issues with the game at the moment (Game-Engine but also Gameplay & Accessibility) we have decided to delay the release!
