We're incredibly excited to announce that the Gold Mountain content update is now available. Free for everyone who owns Where The Water Tastes Like Wine on Steam, the Gold Mountain update introduces new tales focusing on the experience of Chinese Americans and their impact on American history and culture. It also introduces full Chinese language support thanks to the amazing work of a wonderful Chinese localization team led by Ryan Zhang. The update also introduces a variety of performance and quality-of-life improvements, including the following:

  • General bug fixes and Quality of Life Improvements
  • Improved Performance
  • Fixes to Story Locations
  • Improved controls
  • Addresses several localization bugs and issues

Where the Water Tastes Like Wine is an upcoming game about traveling, sharing stories, and surviving manifest destiny. Featuring gorgeous illustration by Kellan Jett, Where the Water Tastes Like Wine combines 2D visuals with a 3D overworld US map. Players wander through the United States - and through a century of history - to meet a variety of people, each with their own stories to tell.

Game Features:

  • A variety of folk tales and personal stories to encounter, told by characters from all over America
  • Beautiful combination of 3D overworld and 2D illustration in its own unique style
  • Stories by a wide selection of excellent writers
