Here are some of the key recent advancements:

The split-screen player limit has now been increased to eight players. Although it is recommended to only have four players per screen.
Space Fighter can now support an incredibly large range of controllers. For the full list see first table here
Using multiple screens is now supported. Even eight screens are supported.

Welcome To Space Fighter
In this mini-game you are in control of a high-tech modular spaceship equipped with the latest blasters. Fly in the battlefield above a mining operation on a foreign planet through an anti-gravity suspended asteroid field.

This game is great for split screen local multi-player with up to four players (requires sufficient controllers*).

Features:

Pilot your spaceship and destroy enemy spaceships
Summon wingmen to give you support and release them on a target
Play with up to 40 AI controlled spaceships
Fire and guide a missile so it meets its target
Game Modes
- Objective: Attack or defend an anti-gravity generator essential for a mining operation
- Deathmatch: Destroy the enemy fleet before it eliminates yours

This game is as free to play as it gets! (with no cheeky in-game purchases)

*Currently only Xbox controllers are supported, more controller support is likely to be added.
