Our latest edition, Night Cascades, features two adult heroines who are forced to work together to solve a series of occult crimes. Remember, if you play Black Closet on October 31 (or April 1st) there are a few bonus case types that can trigger which may not behave like normal cases. Do not be alarmed! Everything will go back to normal once Halloween is over.

But if you've never seen the spooky cases, launch the game on Halloween and see if you can find anything weird lurking in the halls of St. Claudine's....

(It's only a couple of case types and they're randomly generated, so they may or may not occur for you.)

While most mysteries in Black Closet have perfectly ordinary explanations, on Halloween it is possible for mysteries to be generated that are a bit more eldritch than usual, and may lead to CERTAIN DOOM.

A new patch has been pushed out with a handful of changes.

The menu should now make it more obvious that "Save and Quit" is an option, if you need to save mid-week.

A bug preventing the scene where Althea pulls out of the council has been corrected. The scene has also been updated so that you can make her return skill-training points that have been spent on her, and adds a hint that you should be focusing your training on your most loyal minions.

Some minor crash bugs have been fixed.

The features previously in beta have now gone stable. This includes a few crash fixes and some subtle feedback improvements (for example, hardened criminals returning from suspension will indicate that you have no choice but to expel them, and some minions who do not want to be your Queen will now hint that and give you a chance to change your mind)

We've just put out a free content update that, among other things, adds several new cases and a new set of graphics for randomly-generated students in Art Set 2.

A new beta version with new content and random-student art for graphics set 2 will be coming shortly, stay tuned for further announcements.

A handful of stability fixes and a change to one case to make it easier to solve are currently available on the beta branch.

We're also trying to get CG unlocks to sync properly across the cloud. If you're playing the game in multiple locations, please let us know if the new version is working better for you.

To access the beta:
Right-click on the game in your steam library and select Properties. That should bring up a box with various options tabs, one of which says 'Betas'. On that tab, you'll see a dropdown with a list of options you can choose from - select "beta" and it should patch up to the new test content.
