Monjarmageddon has been updated to its latest version, 1.3.1, up from the previous 1.2.1 (there's been a short lived 1.3.0 along the way). While the initial ideal for the game was for it to give a similar feeling to old time arcade games, it is understandable that such difficulty and inability to progress was more a constraint than a design decision. Thus, the save system has been updated, allowing the player now to pick one of three save slots in which the progress is automatically saved, changing difficulty on those at any given time. The difficulties have been revamped once again, given new names, a new default, and some adjustments to projectile speeds. The game has been designed to be played in Difficult, but anyone should and could enjoy the game by playing in the now default Normal difficulty. Furthermore, an arcade mode has been added, which allows the player to play without saving in the Difficult level, as the game was originally intended to be played. The changelog list is as follows:
- Updated Unity version.
- Translated Game Over subtitle.
- Improved Game Over screen look.
- Revamped save system, adding now three save slots to play with.
- Revamped difficulties.
- Updated Mantis Shrimp logo.
- Added arcade mode, to play without saving.
- Improved performance.
- Improved some texts.
- Vastly improved all Japanese texts.
- Fixed resolution scaling in options and game control menus.
- Improved menu navigation.
Monjarmageddon has been updated to its latest version, 1.2.0. This new version adds achievements for all difficulties in bosses, as well as a thorough revamping of the difficulty levels. Now, any player regardless of their ability should be able to play the full game without being stuck, as all mechanics are now adapted to the chosen level difficulty instead of a few. All bosses have been reworked to reflect this, and now the Continue option allows you to change the difficulty setting, whether you want to go easier or try it harder. Besides this extensive rework, the follow fixes are also present in the latest version:
- Made enemy Nun's initial position more visible, adjusted with difficulty.
- Added a splitting enemy projectiles animations for clarity.
- Improved alternative routes in several levels so each path has a slightly difficutly.
- Made Desert Explosions hit other enemies as well, allowing for more clever play.
- Added decoration warnings for insta-death spots, since most cliffs in the game are safe to jump.
- Improved game performance in several spots.
- Fixed Commie HQ boss's main attack, which would sometimes not work as intended.
- Fixed bug that would crash the Continue option after finishing the game.
Monjarmageddon has been updated to its latest version 1.1.0. This means that achievements are now available and unlockable in all three Operative Systems! Besides having added all the basic achievements, the following improvements have been added to the game since its release version:
- Improved camera management.
- Added correction in Basque texts.
- Fixed bug that would make some enemy projectiles disappear.
- Improved Japanese texts.
- Updated credits screen.
- Improved wafer positions in several maps.
- Improved Desert Zone Act 1 reward in difficult path (up).
- Added wafers in Desert Zone and improved flow of both levels.
- Made Desert Zone shooters slightly slower for the easier difficulty modes.
- Possessed Nuns are now shown, waiting, before activation.
- Added an animation for Goat projectiles before disappearing.
So, it's time! The completed version of Monjarmageddon is finally ready and available. While this release comes with all the planned content for the finished game, a post-release patch is already being worked on, and that will include Steam Achievements, Cloud save games, and improved final boss animations. For now, please enjoy the twelve pretty hard levels and seven bosses available to anyone capable enough to clear them all!

The game has simple controls that are hard to master, navigate through the twelve levels featured in the six zones available before facing the final boss, each satirising a specific controversial theme that divorces the church with the modern society, where you may expect a mechanical intensive challenge in order to be able to end communism for good. Monjarmageddon will remind you of classical 8 and 16 bit platformers, but at the same time it provides an automatic game save that will help you progress through the increasingly harder levels, and also provides localisation in several languages so you can enjoy the experience in your own tongue.
