Brief Update

Brief update here, we've been doing a whole lot of AI changes so things are finally coming along. The game is workshop compatible and you can share you levels you create with anyone on steam! Hopefully we can finish off the last little bit of the AI - the only way we can say its ready is when we are both happy with the AI,.. currently neither of us really are. So to answer when will this be done? When it's done is kind of the answer, we aren't perfectionists but I can guarantee you wouldn't be happy with [previewyoutube=injhVV5yD2A;leftthumb][/previewyoutube] To put things in perspective this is about 2 months old and things are significantly better now, however there is still a few instances where the AI just goes a bit crazy, we are trying to make things a bit more predictable. Then we will aim to make it a little less predictable as predictable is boring (if that makes sense!)

Things are moving far quicker now in Slasher town. Still no dates unfortunately which I'm sure is infuriating for everyone! We also have updated audio and a fair few other updates including updated kills and an easier way to tell when someone is about to win, hopefully all these changes people enjoy! Things are moving far quicker and we are very happy with how things are right now, just not quite happy enough. Soon however, when we have date news it will be listed here first!

A few milestones have been hit!

Hello everyone! Lets get to it

Demo Update


Once again news is slow however we have a demo all ready to launch! However if I am honest the audio is a bit off .. and needs polish, we'll just get dragged over coals in its current iteration. If anyone is overly keen I am sure demo keys can be provided however! This is about the best proof I can give!

Level Update


Here is an updated Level, the left is the old look and the right is the new look!

Subtle differences here and there, keen eyes may notice on the bottom image a small diamond, whatever could that be?
Oh noes!
Needless to say the levels are no longer as static as they where previously! It sure is making things a bit more interesting and a bit more challenging as well as adding some points of interest that players now run to.

Release date


Oh how I wish there was a better update here, I will say if things all go to plan the demo will be out in the next month or two (in time for the indie fest optimally!) which will pave the way for the release. This would mean all the audio and the character touches are all complete and any nagging UI or controller issue or even AI issue is resolved. Everything going to plan it would be this year. Things never seem to go to plan tcry

Needless to say things are looking real good and we are polishing things off now! In the coming days we will update the release date with a more concrete date - which optimistically will be this year and hopefully in the coming months!

Cancelled, it doesn't look like this is a good place to demo, if anyone is interested in a demo and in the Vancouver region, let us know and we'll try and sort out another demo time!
In the last week and a bit we have been working towards getting it demo ready and finally pushing a build up to steam, no, unfortunately it is not ready for release.

Whats new :


  • Tighter Steam integration for servers
  • AI Pathing on all Levels
  • Slightly better AI
  • Graphics overhaul
A bunch of other tiny things here and there, such as flow issues that if we didn't do anything about, I'm sure people would say its stupid that we didn't change it.

While you wait to play the game, here are some interesting facts about our game:


Two people are working on this game full time, with help from other people. We use Unity as our Game Engine. The game is only 29 medals away from holding the most Olympic medals of all time, and only 24 away from out right record holder of Gold medals. The team is comprised of people from Canada and New Zealand The game only has to sell over 495 million copies to become the highest selling game of all time! (currently held by Tetris) The game only needs to play 1,768 more NHL games to have the record of most NHL games played! With that note, it only needs another 149 Rugby Test Caps to have the most Rugby Test Caps of any player! The game is currently undefeated at every MLG tournament that streak looks to continue in the foreseeable future. Heres an image from a few weeks ago, just to show how hard at work we are:

Dev Update #1


Dev Update!


We thought we would take some time to give a little update on some of what we've been up to. Karl has been mainly hard at work on the artificial intelligence at the moment and that is going to fill in for real players so you can always train or play even solo. He has also been kicking butt on a whole whack of networking implementation and features for local and online. Dave has been working on Level Design and Character Design. For the levels currently, there are:
  • RoofTop Full mobility range, no hazards for pure skill battles
  • Streets Bottleneck in the middle of the level, aerial attacks
  • Ice Cliffs With slippery surfaces and cliffs to fall off
  • Fire Pits Fire pits on each side of a tower for close quarters combat
For the five characters, they each have a unique visual taunt that matches their personality now and also each a few text-based trash talks. Each character has the teabagging ability in case antagonizing is your only option or you just need to serve up some salt! We have a bunch more things we have been working on while this is taking place. There is always lots to do with just the two of us but we are focused on getting Hyper Slasher in peoples hands so they can start slashing noobs/getting rekt as soon as possible! Dev Update #1


Dev Update!


We thought we would take some time to give a little update on some of what we've been up to. Hyper Slasher FAQ

Hi all, We thought we would go through and write up some FAQs so you can have some questions answered! Feel free to ask more, or not.

Can I play this locally?


Yes! Up to four players!, highly recommend controllers, I imagine it'd be impossible with 4 people on keyboard, I wouldn't even try. I mean if you want to be that person go for it, I dare you.

Can I play this online?


Currently that's the plan! It's all working right now! Unless something unforeseen happens, its stayin in!

I want to make the people I play against feel bad after I own them, is that possible? I mean I'm a bit of a dick and I gloat a lot


I think we have you sorted buddy, keep your eyes posted on upcoming game play vids and trailers

Do you plan on making a pack so I can buy 4 copies? I kinda like to play against my friends, they really suck but this would be a nice treat for them


Yes! we do plan on doing this, however I haven't figured out how to do this, I am a man smart, so I'll sort it, hopefully

How do you get your hair so full of volume & lift?


I try and shower daily, and I do use shampoo, none of that conditioner. I don't use a hair dryer or hair straightener, I've never really tried it however but so far this seems to be working. * This is all subject to change, no doubt people will rage if it does, so we'll do our best to not change anything. Except Batman, he always wins, sorry.

    The Glitch Lord has captured our heroes and held them captive in a hellish world in the theme of a 1980’s synth combat arena.
