After having the game in the store for a few years, I have decided to offer the game for free. Sales have been very slow from the beginning so with this change, at least more people get to play the game once it's free. Enjoy the game, if you haven't already!
I have permanently lowered the price for my game! From now on, you will be able to get it for previous sale price. This also means, no more sales :)
Many people have started a game project but not so many have ever finished. I am proud to be one of the latter. It turned out great and I really hope that people will enjoy playing it! Being a spare time project, it took my one person development team almost seven years from start to finish. I will add more features and additional easter eggs to the game in the future, as well as support for other consoles and devices. Have fun and let me know if it was worth your time and money!
Crashing the ship became more appealing. You get to stroll the outside world a watch the ship crash.
Fixed some minor issues.
What if the game was made in 1990? It might have looked similar to this new graphics mode. Low vertex precision, low-resolution unfiltered textures, fog to disguise the viewing distance, limited color palette, loading disruptions and so forth. There is a certain appeal to this PS1 look. Its like 3D pixel art :) Other changes:
- There now is an audio sub-menu to control the volume for the effects and the voice over.
- Fixed a bug that cause the unlockable, Irish voice over setting to disappear.
- Some general polishing throughout the game.
The Irish, not so serious alternative dubbing is in the game! Enjoy it, if you can find out how XD The Axe moved again, its now visible on the back of the yellow machine. You still need to get there somehow. And some other tweaks and improvements.
First iteration of the Spanish and French version of the game! The interface, subtitles and all puzzle related texts have been translated. Please report issues if you will find any! Other changes:
- Improving menu navigation with the analogue stick.
- Increasing walking speed when strafing.
- Improving an issue of the macOS version that causes the camera to jump after leaving a menu.
This is the biggest update in a while.
- Amazing voice actress Hannah Hellwig is now part of the English voice acting!
- A new puzzle awaits you outside the ship. You dont have to be a math geek to solve it.
- Some intentional glitching added at the end. A bloody Halloween gimmick.
- The cursor will now disappear during puzzles when you dont need it.
- And as always, some bugs crushed.
Mostly new content this time:
- Adding functionality to the terminal in the first room. It's just stealing codes from you :)
- Adding content to very end of the game. I won't spoil it for you though.
Quite a few changes done:
- Interactive objects will now lose their highlighting if there is nothing left to do. It might have been confusing to some players before.
- A simple tutorial page will be shown to new players or after resetting the game. I hope this will prevent players from trying to click on anything in the game.
- If you have progressed in the game, you won’t see the intro anymore when launching the game.
- Gamepad sensitivity reduced. You can still change it within the game.
- Hint delay decreased.
- Fixed a bug in the inventory that caused the text to disappear after switching between languages.
- Fixed a bug that caused the elevator to jump if the player was hammering the button.
One puzzle has changed. You need to get to the axe that is resting on top of the leviathan.
Crashing the ship isn’t for nothing anymore :)
And a bug fixed: Some of the parachutes were not accessible after opening the lids. I’ve always solved this puzzle the wrong way. Shame on me.
- Fixing a bug that disabled the subtitles after resetting the game.
- Improving the textures of the observation deck.
- Preparing a new feature. Go ahead, pour yourself a drink. However, nothing is going to happen as of yet.
Biggest news for this week’s update:
Awesome German voice actors made it into the game.
Even if you don’t know what German is, you have to listen!
Thank you Caro and Vincent!
In addition to that, you will now see if you are wearing a mask or googles in the areas, where they are required. You don’t need to ask yourself, weather or not to pick those items up from the inventory.
And some polishing was done here and there.
You’ve got a mac? I’ve got a game! The early access release is now running on mac OS 10.8 and up. The PS 3 Gamepad works out of the box. For any other gamepad, please adjust the mapping in the launcher. Any dedicated GPU from this decade is powerful enough to run the game in its full glory. You should at least have an Intel HD Graphics 5000 to run the game @ Full HD with 60 FPS. Enjoy my humble game!
This is the first update to include voice acting. The first voice you are going to hear it the player's English voice, spoken by Andrew Hartwick. It's not complete nor final. Just a dev drop, as always. Cheers to Andrew and enjoy!
And even more changes after the weekend:
Adding a small detail to help convey the concept of the game.
Every time you start the game or respawn after dying, a night counter will be shown. The initial night count will be random if there is no save game yet or if you choose to reset the game. However, it will be counting up throughout the game.
In addition to that, I have added some more text bits to several areas.
Adding cryptic hints to help you solve the puzzles.
It can be turned off in the settings if you want to figure it out the hard way.
Adding door signs to help with navigation.
The ones with lit signs can be opened at some point during the game.
Changed some textures and fixed some issues.
With this update I have added and changed some of the music throughout the game.
So now, you can party very hard. You need to figure this out by yourself, though :)
Almost there... I have added some more sound effects to the final stage of the game. The only major thing still missing is the voice acting. That’s going to be the next big update, probably. So, this is it then, it’s kind of done!
- Fixing a bug that caused the player to load outside the active level
- Event driven sounds pause when the game pauses
- Adding many sound effects
- Optimizing performance for lower end quality settings
You can now tamper with the leviathan. But be careful not to crash the ship!
And some more bugs crushed and optimizations.
This is primarily a content update. The hub at the end of the elevator ride has been improved.
And friendly camera drones are inhabiting it. Please don’t harm them :)
Adding some more details to the final stage of the game as a clue to what's going on. And again, minor changes and loading optimizations.
With this update, I have added highlighting to any interactive and collectible item. This makes finding those items a lot easier. Blue one can be picked up and put into the inventory. Green ones can be interacted with. This also allows you to easily spot interactive things that will be added with future updates.
What's new since 0.456:
- Fixed a bug in the inventory that caused an item beeing instantiated twice when using a gamepad.
- Updating the ending of the game with new graphics and functionality.
- Some minor things.
Bugfix update:
- Improved level loading. In some cases, certain parts of the level were loaded twice.
- Adding German translation to all dialogues.
- Preventing the player from falling through the floor after pulling on the lever ;)
- Some improvements outside the ship (smoke color adapting to lighting, stair collider improved, speaker texture replaced)
- Some minor things.
Fixes since 0.452:
- Fixed a bug that caused the default language to be German.
- Resetting the game resets all achievement related values in the game. You will not lose the achievements in Steam.
- Items will be removed, if already in the inventory, the next time you load the game.
- Some colliders increased in size to make them easier to find.
- The spherical controller connected to the ray gun will not deflect the ray anymore. The puzzle can be solved that way, but it is very fiddly. Please use something else XD
- The game is not over after you get shot. The game now reloads at the previous checkpoint to make it more obvious
- The invert axis option now also works for the mouse axis, not just the gamepad
When using mouse and keyboard, entering the menu with the escape key was possible, but leaving it was not. Hitting escape again, would quit the game. This bug was cause by a change made for android, to always react to the back button. And no, it's not time to create a branch just yet :) Other fixes: Resetting the game state during the running game, when executing "reset game". No need to restart. Avoiding to save the player's location on moving platforms. They might end up in a different position next time you load the game.
This new release includes: Encrypted save game data. This change will brake your save game. Please reset! Improved GLES3 compatibility for shaders. Although it is all running fine on GL2, fixing those issues doesn't hurt. Improved texture loading speed by tweaking the settings. Prevents stuttering during the game. Some bugs crushed. (And some Android specific changes.)
All achievements are now live and achievable (to my beta testers). Other changes in .442 - fixed menu navigation bug in credits screen when using the mouse as input device
Don’t play for nothing any longer! The latest build .440 includes the required code to unlock 14 achievements. However, they are not live yet. The images need to be created.

HoD Ep1 Depot Linux [1.51 G]
HoD is a first-person adventure game (aka walking simulator) taking you into a steampunk inspired scenery. To progress in the game, you will have to find the items required to fix or crack open the locked doors, that you are going to face. Each door reveals a new, unique and interesting room to explore.
Once you have left the ship, the world you find yourself in, becomes even more confusing and disturbing. The unpleasant truth is awaiting you at the very end of your path back into reality.
What to expect:
- A playing time of about 2-3 hours.
- Some tough and challenging puzzles.
- Steampunk-inspired graphics.
- Many unique and intriguing rooms and areas to explore.
- Full gamepad support inside the game (except for the launcher).
Started out as a personal project a decade ago, HoD 1 is finally about to be finished! All assets have been originally created for this game.
Targeting not only PCs but mobile platforms alike, highly optimized graphics and shaders allowed me to bring the same visual experience to players on most devices.
