ACE Academy - February Progress Update (Dev Stream: February 13th, 2016 - 10:00AM PST // 1:00PM EST // 6:00PM GMT)

There has always been a Mayu route! Granted it was platonic and not romantic. The deal with romantic routes is that they take a lot of resources to feel complete and her design was closely intertwined with Shou making her "romanceability" with MC difficult.
With that that being said, we evaluated community feedback and have decided to craft a Romanceable Mayu route! This required a decent overhaul to the "main" story content involving Mayu/Shou if you do/don't pursue her romantically. The specifics are for you to discover, however the draft is quite satisfying without you feeling like the "second" pick for Mayu.
ACE Academy was planned for 5 episodes at 30,000 word count each, resulting in a 150,000 word count story (I can do arithmetics!). We are currently at over 124,000 word count with the first 2 episodes. Instead of taking these episodes and breaking them up into smaller chunks which would hurt pacing, we'll continue to have content rich episodes and scale back the actual number of episodes from 5 to 4. The planned story remains unchanged. TL;DR INSTEAD of the original 150,000 word count in 5 EPISODES, we are doing 200,000+ word count in 4 EPISODES.

Story
In the year 2049, mechanized robots commonly called GEAR were developed for military application. Since then, their versatile functionality has led them to not only become commonplace in commercial use, but also spawned an entire sports entertainment industry. The prevalent use and popularity of GEARs has created a new academic field known as “Cenorobotics”.
Due to unforeseeable circumstances, the protagonist finds himself transferring to ACE Academy, a premier school for Cenorobotics studies in Japan. He struggles to find a team willing to accept him and his outdated “American” GEAR to compete in the intramural tournament. When compared to the sleek, robust, and advanced technologies of the Japanese counterparts, his search feels utterly hopeless. That is, until he finds a group of pilots just desperate enough for another member. This is where your story begins.
