New maps and mechanics with Easy Red 2

Since releasing Easy Red 1 as a zero-budget project, my skills as a developer have grown over the years. Plus I finally have the resources to make Easy Red the game I've always wanted to develop. Early Access development is proceeding incredibly fast: At the moment since release about 40 days ago, I have released more than 10 major updates. It certainly won't be the same game that was the first chapter; I am in fact bringing new environments, battles, armies and above all mechanics. I advise you to at least take a look at it, also if you own a copy of the first game, you can buy Easy Red 2 at a reduced price (And we are already talking about a little more than the price of a coffee!)

Easy Red 2: Development log

Good morning. Here is some information on the development status of Easy Red 2.

  • It will probably take place in 2 big maps: Anzio coast and Tarawa. If this is confirmed, there will be at least a landing mission in both maps. New interesting maps could anyway be added as DLC (Something like grece could be very interesting).
  • It will have a very advanced mission editor compared to Easy Red 1.
  • There will be many new mechanics including squad management.
  • Graphics and animations will be totally revised.
  • It will take about 8 months of work, or maybe more.

EASY RED 2 - Development Topic

Hello to everyone! I am happy to announce that a new version of Easy Red is in development. Next version will be released at least on PC and Nintendo Switch - keep this in mind for considerations about hardware limitations when you post your ideas. Easy Red focus his mechanics around a realistic battles simulations offline (and maybe, next title online too? how?) where soldiers tries to react in a realistic way to combat scenarios, where player can have a solid management of every bullet in his inventory, and where weapon management try to be as accurate as possible. All of this in big battles where you can be every single soldier on the battlefield experiencing how the key to survive is actually fighting with caution and strategies. We want to keep the exact same ideas and bring them to the next level. We have a lot of new ideas for next re-made from scratch title, for example:

  • A new improved First Person view and animations management.
  • New modern details such as foot placement on the ground, and responsive animations.
  • Totally new and more realistic management of the troops, adding a squad-based system where an officer will give orders to infantry inside a squad to coordinate fights. Player will of course be able to play as soldier that must follows orders and squad commander as well.
  • Improvements in graphics and optimizations to be able to handle many more units in a fight.
  • Adding of new soundtracks to make the fights even more intensive.
We will enlarge this list with your suggestions! Also we need to decide where this will take place. We will consider everything, from totally historical accurate campaigns to more story-based scenarios. Hoping we gave you an exciting announcement, we are curious to read your ideas! Easy Red 2

Hi. The development of "Easy Red 2" has oficially started. Actually, "Easy Red" will not the title of the game. This reason is due to several graphical innovations that the game will gain, changing a lot the aspect of the product. Also, it will be totally rivisited to achieve a stable, defininded, good-looking game. Several new ideas and AI improvements will be performed. More news soon. Marco

Fixing update + Easy Red 2 News

Hello from Corvostudio. We are starting releasing a new series of fixes for Easy Red. From this build the game should be much more stable. Anyway you can test the beta version on game properties on steam library. Also we are starting working on Easy Red 2. I'm not sure about when the work will start, but I hope by the end of April. Easy Red 2 will bring many news such as:

  • Every graphical improvements that A Front Too Far had. (Look here:) https://store.steampowered.com/app/958320/A_Front_Too_Far_Normandy/
  • A new map with new missions.
  • Many new models and weapons. Most of the models will be replaced.
  • Totally new and fresh animations.
  • Totally new FX and sounds.
  • Huge optimizations.
I'm not sure yet where the game will placed. I was wondering about Battle of the bulge (but snow could be boring after some times) or Operation Market Garden. I was also considering WW1. Please leave suggestions about this in this thread. Thank you Marco.

I'll take some time to go ahead with my studies, and then maybe i'll start working on a free DLC (I don't know what it will and when i'll start working on it). What about multiplayer? When i started working on this game, multiplayer wasn't planned. As i wrote some times ago, it would be out as free DLC. I tried to implement it, but when i started writing the code, i didn't make it multiplayer-oriented, and i built the game on that code. So basically i should write all the code again. I will try anyway, but i can't confirm that multiplayer will ever on the game. So, here's what came out with this. Easy Red contains 3 years of work. More then 3500 hours in front of a PC and about 70.000 lines of code. I did my best with it, and i'm happy about what i did. I would like to say thank you to all voice actors and translators that helped me, to all people that gave me feedback and suggestions, and to all players, that played and enjoyed the game giving it a reason to exist. Mission Editor news

The misson editor is officially at 50% of the work. I hope to publish it at the end of the month. It will be very user friendly, perhaps a bit limiting, but will allow you to create countless different missoins. I'm also working at multiplayer (and at another new game) so sorry for the delays.

Multiplayer - Work in progress

Hi. Today i officially started working on multiplayer. It will a little bit harder then the expected. It may require a few time. I think 1-2 month. Anyway, news and updated will released, but less frequently. I'll do my best to bring a funny, interactive and different multiplayer. There are other little news incoming, like the Turkish translations and a new weapon. Steam workshop is a little bit hard too; the system at the moment is very buggy, and creating a totally new editor is so much harder then the expected - it's kind of making a new game engine editor inside the game - so i need time on it too. And i also would like to say thank you. Thank you for your support. And thank you for your judgement that makes me improve the game where you think it needs work. I love my project, i really want to see it completed. I'm working on this since 3 years. And i have new projects ready to be released, i'm learning how to use newer game engines meanwhile i'm working on Easy Red.

Huge performance improvement incoming!

Hi. Here's some of the news incoming on next update: -Big performance improvement: This is the most important part of the update.
