0.9.3 update AVAILABLE NOW - WINDOWS BETA BRANCH

Hey Everybody, Finally 0.9.3 update is for for Train Station Simulator. This new update is only available for PC / Windows right now. With your help I need to sort out errors and bugs before I upload the MAC and Linux versions as well. Let me show all the added new features one by one with the images:

1. TRAIN INTERIORS


I have enabled train interiors for most of the train carriages (except for a few ones). In this update you will not see passengers sitting in the train carriages it will be added later on and some interior changes will come as well. But feel free to test the game and see what each of the trains look inside. Here is a few screenshots:



2. Freight train additions


Many more new freight train types have been added. With some new cool looking engines and also the addition of new carriages. The new type of goods will be added to a latest update to your freight station and it will generate different amounts of revenue. This will result more fun of the freight option of the game. 3. Freight terminal additions


Moreover not just new trains and engines will appear but players will be able to create a more complex freight termina. Right now I only enabled the new buildings for a look and overview but the freight terminal will be more detailed by time. New train types also appear on your freight train track time to time.

4. Cleaning staff's zoning


The zoning option for cleaning stuff is almost ready. I can show you a screenshot what it is like in the game. Unfortunately it is not working yet properly, hopefully in the upcoming weeks I can finalize this function as well. New zonings will look pretty nice.

5-6-7. New VIP areas, carriages


There is a new VIP Shop a Jewelry shop. You can influence your VIP passengers with these new VIP only facilities. Your VIP passengers might feel more comfortable and happy if they see greater shops for their needs. The antique VIP carraige is not yet finished but will come in the upcoming weeks as well. Jewelry shop is available in 1980-2010 years.

8. Large Restaurant Court


Now you can place a much larger Restaurant area to your station with a larger variety of food types. Check it out. Available in 1990-2010 years.

9. Food Truck


A new larger food truck is available to your station as well.
I have managed to fix a few bugs. There was a major problems with the UI not in place in some versions of the game. It seems to be fixed now, but multi monitor setup might have some more problems still. I will look into those problems in the new updates as well. I have also managed to fix a few object related error, issues not placing benches properly. That is for now with this update if you find any problems please report it in the thread or in the community session of Train Station Simulator. I continue improving this update next week so I can release it on the PUBLIC BRANCH as well as soon as possible. Moreover to Mac and Linux users. 0.9.3 update coming on 24th May 2020

In 2019 Train Station Simulator got many major updates. 2020 will be a continuing year for major updates and the testing of new features. The game may will see a final 1.0 release version as well in 2020. The greatest update I have made last year was the complete re-coding of Train Station Simulator. I have been finalizing this re-coding for some time as some bugs have not yet been pacthed in the game. With the new code I can happily update the game much-much longer.
Let me show your the nine new planned features for the 0.9.3 update:

1. Train Interiors



I plan to enable this features in 0.9.3 version so if you hover your mouse over the train carriages you will be able to see the trains interior and moreover you will be able to see the train filling up with passengers.

2. Freight train additions


You will see many more freight train types in the future. With some new cool looking engines and also the addition of new carriages. The new type of goods transported to your freight station will generate different amounts of revenue. This will result more fun of the freight option of the game.

3. Freight terminal additions


Moreover not just new trains and engines will appear but players will be able to create a more complex freight terminal with more trucks and this will also generate more revenue.

4. Cleaning staff's zoning


This major update will add a special feature for some of your staff members. From now on you will be able to add special regions to your cleaning staff members so you can prioritize some parts of your station. Also you can use the same old classic way as per default but this will add some new dimensions to your station.

5. New VIP partners


In the new version of Train Station Simulator some new VIP passengers will arrive to your station as well. For these very important passengers you will need to build more complex waiting areas with certain criteria. And happy VIP passengers will generate a lot more revenue!

6. New VIP areas


With the new VIP passengers you will have to ability to expand your station layout with a few new luxury facilities that will be used with VIP passengers.

7. New passengers carriages


Some new type of passengers carriages will arrive as well for these VIP passengers.

8. Underground restaurant court


More hungry passengers? No problem. You will be able to build a new larger food court to serve each and every passenger of your station.

9. Food Trucks


You will be able to add some food trucks along the street side of your game to serve passengers faster.

10. Console options, controller support


I plan to add controller support to the game but this is not yet clear if it will work properly on PC platforms as well. Some new screenshots of these features will be announced before the update on the 24th of May! As of now I plan to support the game for many years. You have seen major updates in Train Station Simulator since the first release. Last year was a bit quieter but that never means that the game have been abandoned but I am creating more projects as well and sometimes I cannot fully work only on one project. So please keep up guys with your support, ask questions, suggest new features and I will try to add them by time and also would love to hear all your ideas! Thank you for all You Guys Train Lovers!

0.9 update AVAILABLE NOW on BETA CHANNEL PC/MAC/LINUX

Dear Train Station Simulator Community,

0.9 update is AVAILABLE NOW on BETA CHANNEL for PC/MAC/LINUX.


Here is the complete new features list ! This new version 0.9 build t450 will remain in BETA for a couple of weeks I believe so there will be time to find all issues and problems in this huge update. If any critical problems appear I upload new builds as well.
(You can access BETA channel by right clicking in your Steam Client's Library "Train Station Simulator" select "Properties" choose "Beta" sub and select "beta -" to opt in!)

PC:


Windows XP is not supported anymore. Vista and Windows 7 players will need to ensure they have DirectX 11 installed and SP1.

MAC:


OS 10.12.x is the minimum requirement to run the game on a MAC.

LINUX:


From now on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS 64bit is the only distro that is supported.

0.9 update is coming this weekend on the PC BETA channel

Great Day to Train Station Simulator, I know that some of you guys lost belief in this game but I am still here. However, I have not posted too much recently but it was not at all about abandoning the project but I had to work so much more on it to be finished.

Why did it take so long for this update?


So 0.9 update is coming to the BETA channel this weekend (4-5th May 2019). This is a very BETA update and you may face serious errors and bugs. The game have completely been re-coded due to some technical limitations and problems but this 5 months of re-building of the complete game has some great benefits. In the future, new features can be added so much easier and the game will be supported much-much longer. Stay tuned I will upload a new post when the final build will be out this weekend.

Is it coming really coming this weekend? (4-5th May 2019)


In short yes.


With bugs? Yes... some bugs will appear. First I upload the PC versions and after that I try to upload the MAC and the Linux version as well. This may take some more coding to work properly but it will come soon as well. The added new features are very long and the bugfix list as well so let me put here all the details:

1. Re-coding


The game has been re-coded entirely. It has been optimized highly but some bugs can appear in the beginning.

2. Custom Timetable menu


You can now create 4 custom timetables in ENDLESS and Sandbox mode. You can set each train's settings by clicking the icons.

3. Custom Train types and length


You can set the engine, the carriage, the length and type of the train.

4. 200% more passengers. Maximum is now 500 passengers at once.



5. Redesigned Build / Object / Facilites



6. Completely redesigned Empolyees Menu



7. Redesigned all in-game icon layouts



8. Redesigned transportation menu and new transportation names



9. New Transportation graphics



10. New flooring tiles and new road design



11. New pavement design and new grass design and new tree design



12. Buttons added for passenger mood and ticket type



13. Ticket Machines when kicked by vandals now show 'Out of Order'



14. New region namings



15. Huge speed and memory optimization


Try the double speed with 500 passengers. It should run very smooth now.

January Update

Hey Guys, Thank you guys for all your support in the past year and I really appreciate all the active users being with the community and every new players of Train Station Simulator. Train Station Simulator has been in Early Access for a little more than 1 year now and I have enabled lots of new features during this time.

1. "Where the hell is the latest update? I have waited so long!"


You might have realized that the last update of the game (especially on PC and Linux) was in Autumn and I have promised a huge update that should have arrived during 2018. Unfortunately I could not finish up all features and find all the solutions for problems in time that is why this update is being delayed. The game is actively developed every day but the main reason this new update takes so much time to be completed is more technical related. Train Station Simulator is being developed using a third party game developer engine. This engine got a very large new update during the time of the development of TSS. Right now the old version is still works but I decided to migrate the game to the new version of this engine and I bumped into a few serious issues during this work. The game works more or less but the code needed enormously big re-designing even to be able to work the same way as it did before this update. Right now the main sections of the re-code is finished but still I find some nasty bugs every other day with testing. I cannot tell an exact date when the migration will be finished and all the new features will also be ready but I am on it and doing as much as I can to release the new update.

2. Leaving Early Access:


I plan to finalize Train Station Simulator in 2019 so a first 1.0 version might come to Steam during 2019 with some more features added during this year. I plan to continue support for the game and adding regular bug fixes, optimizations and new features upon your requests and ideas. I really need community feedback to decide which features would be the mostly wanted for the game in the future. Thank you for your continued support and sorry for the recent delays. All these delays are for the benefits of the game so no time wasted during this time. Hopefully the 0.9 update is arriving soon and we can together with the community continue planning new features for your favorite Builder Simulator game in Train Station Simulator! Thank you guys!

Happy Birthday Train Station Simulator!

Hey Guys, One year ago, TODAY Train Station Simulator was born. This first year of development was a fun and exciting time with hundreds of new features added to the game by day upon your feedback and requests.
The game is still in Early Access and active development however patches are coming not every other months or weeks I try to create larger updates on special occasions.

Latest update:


The largest update yet is 0.9 t450 I have been working on for 3 months now. This update is not yet fully functional but I will continue development during the Christmas holidays to be able to bring it to all of you soon. You can read all the details about the upcoming 0.9 t450 update here.

Mojave MAC OSx update AVAILABLE!

Hey Guys! I am happy to announce that after working for almost 10 days we have successfully fixed the issue affecting the latest Mojave Mac versions. The hotfix is available right now to update version 9.1 for Mac! It is still not 100% perfect but the minimizing issue and disappearing game windows have been fixed. Tested on 1600x900 // 1920x1080 // 2560x1080 // 3840x2160 We will bring you some more news on the future update soon too! Train Station Simulator Team

MAC support AVAILABLE NOW!

Hey Guys, So along our hard work on the latest 0.9 update we have successfully uploaded a new fully compatible* MAC version the first time.
We have updated the Storepage as well so now the game is officially supported on Windows / Linux and finally Mac OSx* as well. Beware that some errors can happen on the new Mac version and please report any Mac related issue in this topic. More news is coming soon about upcoming cool features of the 0.9 version and new amazing screenshots!

As we are approaching the first year anniversary of the early access release of Train Station Simulator we thought it is high time to give a few more details on the upcoming features we have been hard working on in the past months.

1. Re-coding


Due to some technical difficulties we decided to re-code from ground the complete game. It means that most of bases will be crated again but we will use existing parts of the code to avoid interruption of your existing creations. AI will be modified in some places so passengers and staff members will get more clever by time.

2. Custom Timetables


In 0.9 version we plan to enable the custom timetable system. I means you will have a complete control on arrival and departures of the trains with the standard minimum 3 hours limit to stay at the station per train but you will be able to have all train at once to have rush hour maximums or mid day empty tracks. Moreover we leave the basic timetable in place but there will be a separate menu to enable custom timetable.

3. Custom Train length and type


We also plan to enable a new cool features so within a few game parameter limits you will be able to set the train carriage number and even the train types. However some limitations stays in place for example you cannot have a modern ICE looking train in the very early years. Moreover we leave the basic timetable in place but there will be a separate menu to enable custom train lengths and type.

4. Train and station disasters


0.9 will contain a few more extremely interesting features such as the train disasters... A derailed train? A passengers on the track? Or just a tree on the rails? Who know what other amazing disasters can happen in a station's life :)

5. Ticket gates - later version


Well... ticket gates is a huge request from our great fans. At the moment the ticket gate system is not working properly and it creates more stress and madness in the station than advantages. It really needs more work to work properly. (We know that we are saying this for sometime now but believe us: it is not yet ready to be released! :) )

6. New passengers


We will add a few more passenger types: smoking violators and distracted passengers.

7. Five new train designs


A few new trains are coming to Train Station Simulator 0.9. Each era will get one new train type so 5

8. New language localization: Brazilian (Portuguese)


We will enable a new text Localization: Brazilian - Portuguese

9. Two new facilities


In version 0.9 playgrounds and parks are coming as new recreational zones.

10. Train cleaner units, track maintenance service members


New staff members will also included in this update. Now version 0.9 there will be some extra duty: players need to keep trains clean as well inside. ***THE MEGA-GIGA BIG PLANNED EXTRA!!***

11. Train interiors - might not arrive to 0.9 update still in alpha*


We plan to enable an amazing new feature you all will LOVE. When hovering over trains you will be able to see INSIDE the interiors of all your passenger train carriages including all chairs and small tables and you will be able to see when a train is getting full of passengers!
*Be warned that this features is highly in development so we cannot guarantee that this will be available in the next update fully. But working on it to make you all happy!! :) All in all, the past few months was a bit quite without small updates so we plan to release the larger 0.9 huge update in the coming months! Back to Development!

Hey Guys,
We had a wonderful week to relax so now we are back to development of Train Station Simulator! We are working on some train accident and unexpected events for your station's life that will arrive in future updates. Moreover there is a very complex timetable management system in development. With the new system you will be able to set each dep/arr time of your timetable also the number of carriges and type of your engines. But this timetable system needs a lot of work to work properly. Also we plan to enable an option to be able to add new trains to your game more easily so you can have unique trains in your game! Short Vacation until 29th August

What's behind Train Station Simulator: an insight of making isometric indie games

Hey Guys, We thought it was high time to show you a few tricks we use during game development that might give you some answers on some facts and concerns about the behavior and cause of different things in Train Station Simulator.

1. An isometric world:


Most of you know that TSS is an isometric game that is the illusion of 3D of a two dimensional world. Basically we can say that the game takes place on a checked paper with open (GREEN) and forbidden (RED) squares the whole time in 2D. You as a player of the game only sees everything happening in a different projection in isometric 3D. Corridors and tiled areas are open spaces but objects, trains and walls are forbidden (partially) places. As an example let's see how an area of a toilette and some tiled areas look like in the 2D Train Station Simulator engine and in the game:
Enabling another layer will show passengers as blue boxes actively moving around. The white less-than // greater than sign indicates the direction the object is moving towards. Some other numbers indicates certain objects as well in your station like 115 for an interactive monitor or 117 for ticketing machines:

2. Code: "Dead" Backgrounds, "Zombie" mixed elements and "Alive" objects


Most elements in Train Station Simulator are background or active object elements or many elements are both. As an example flooring are completely background elements, benches are mixed, background and object elements and passengers are objects only. Let me explain this a little more deeply. During game development we always pay attention to the speed of FPS (Frames the game runs Per Second) a game can run on maximum. Lots of factor has a huge effect on this (code itself, engine used for development, graphical elements at once on the screen and/or in memory, quality of coding and lots of other factors...). We use some easy techniques to reduce memory and CPU usage. The biggest advantage is the 2D vs. isometric trick I talked in the first point. The other major possibility is using different elements for different purposes as "dead" background elements will not eat up much memory or CPU but "alive" object will:
A. Background only elements: (Dead) Most flooring, walls, doors, tracks, platforms are "static" elements and are not moving or changing very often. I call them "dead" as these are not moving but sometimes other elements can interact with them (eg.: passengers damage more likely cheap floor and less likely expensive floor). B. Mixed, Background and Object elements (Zombie) Most of the interiors to be placed (eg.: benches, machines etc.) are mixed elements. These one have their own rules and functions (eg.: a ticket machine can give a ticket to the passenger or a passenger can use the toilette) so basically we can say that these elements have their own interaction with active objects. These elements cannot interact with each other only with "alive" objects. C. Object elements (Alive) Passengers, vandals, staff members, vehicles and trains are active objects in Train Station Simulator. These pieces can interact with A and B types and they can interact with each other as well. For example a passenger can blemish the flooring background only elements, also passengers can sit on a mixed bench element but they feel pretty angry when seeing a vandal passenger destroying machines or missing their train as it leaves the station. So by understanding the main elements of TSS now you can have a much cleaner picture why there is a limit in the number of passengers (250 right now) or why the map is not much larger. There are other great tricks used in other games where object elements (C) are only active in the view of the game but in TSS it would not be possible as in real world simulation games even if you do not see your passengers they have to continue their behaviors (they are getting more and more tired or hungry and have to catch their trains).

3. The underpass problem: why not possible to move the underpass entrance/exits away from platforms each side or only one side



So past week there were some discussions on the new underpass feature. We planned on request to move the entrance/exit of the underpasses off the platforms but as you might now understand more deeply the mechanism of Train Station Simulator it will easy to understand the cause. To understand the problem let me introduce a few issues. Train Station Simulator was not designed to be a multi-floored game scene. The "open" // "forbidden" cell system enable "alive objects" to explore around open cells and avoid forbidden cells. The problem is with crossings and the fact that there are no multiple layer levels of that system so it would be difficult to define being on ground level or underground level (Actually we have tried that too but did not work as expected). So the next image will show how the underpass works: actually if you place an underpass between tracks it will open a corridor for "forbidden" cells so passengers can cross. The illusion that they "disappear" is only a graphical effect to make it more real and train tracks are forbidden cells as trains use different paths for their movements than passengers.
The image shows that it is possible to reach from A-B-C-D each point to each other. But moving the underpass entrance/exit each side one cell off the platform would have resulted situation that may caused series blockage that can be seen on the next image:
In this case "B" would have never been accessed from position "A" as the underpass invisible corridor would block the ground access on the platform. Well yeah... We know we could have come up with a solution for that but there were no easy solution for this. We could have created another floor database of coordinates but that would have limited the expanding of passenger number so we had to decide which direction to follow. Well this example clearly shows that adding new features needs lots of attention and enormous time to develop!

Patch - Build t435 - LIVE NOW [PUBLIC AND BETA BRANCH]

Hey Guys, Finally we could have overcome an issue with updating so finally we have released the Build t435 update. This is a major update containing lots of bug fixes and new features so it may contain some bugs for the first release:

1. Underpasses between platforms:



Finally we have enabled this highly requested feature so passengers can now cross longer tracks and platforms so no need to go around. This way you guys will be able to build much different station layouts so your passengers will be able to cross easily under tracks if they need to go to a toilette or any other facility nearby. There was a discussion in one of the update comment sessions about the entrance of these underpasses. We have tested to move the stair entrances off the platforms but that caused some more complicated issues. We will create this week a detailed blog post of the "Insight of developing Train Station Simulator" and you will understand from that post why it was not possible to move the entrances off the platforms. You can simple demolish the underpasses with the 2x5 demolish tool.

2. Audio Localization: French


Finally we have updated the audio functions for our French users.

3. Graffiti (Artists)



Gratified trains are finally here. Graffiti was is included in a simple way for now in Train Station Simulator. For this first version graffitis are appear on trains sometimes if there are too many vandals present in you station. In future version we may include more animation where you will be able see graffiti artists painting on trains.

4. Station Evacuation Button



We have enabled the Evacuation button on the right of the main down menu. You can evacuate your station any time and an alarm will sound and all your passengers will try to get to the closest emergency door and/or exit. Right now unexpected threatens will not happen like bomb in a bag or flooding or any other situation but in the future we plan many many unexpected events that will effect your stations life. If you click the Evacuation button again the alarm is stopped and everything turns back to normal.

5. Basic In-game tutorial



We have enabled a short tutorial with basic tips on how to build your very first train station and how to setup your timetables and schedules. This is more useful for very newbie users and was a highly requested feature for long time. Right now the tutorial is English only.

6. More transportation: parking lots, disabled person parking



We have enabled some more parking for cars and a disabled only parking spot.

7. More types of passengers: disabled passengers



If you would like to see more disabled passengers in your station you need to place a disabled parking.

8. Mobile phone Charging kiosk



Mobile phone Charging Kiosk is an eye candy so you make your station more colorful with facilities like this. Available in 2000 and 2010 all game modes.

9. Settings / Force FULL HD Windowed mode


In the settings/display you can use the FullHD Windowed mode that will set 1920x1080 window your game field that was requested as a quick fix for several monitor layouts (as the window size is generated from the screen resolution). You may have noticed that some planned features have been left out from this update (disasters, tram lines). These features were moved back on the list to enable certain more important quick fixes. Patch - Build t435 - COMING SOON

Hey Guys,
We were a bit quiet in April with the latest upcoming patches and updates. Right now we are experiencing some technical issues when trying to finalize the latest build and that is why t435 was not out in April. However, if we finally solve that issue TEN amazing new features are arriving to your Train Station Simulator!

There are a few more features that is under final testing and development but still needs a lot coding to function fully. One of these is the highly featured and requested "Ticket Gates" function. This needs some more testing so not sure in which version we can enable it. Also "More cargo: mail and small bag services" and a Mac test version is coming sooner or later.     1.+50% more objects in certain game era


    We have managed to enable a lot more objects to each game era. Some objects are new and others are from older eras so now you are able to place your favorite benches, vending machines and plants in every game mode. In upcoming updates we plan to change these objects and we will add some more new items as well.

    2. CCTV Security Cameras


    We are introducing the great CCTV Security Camera system in Train Station Simulator. When you place cameras in your station you can cover the whole area of important machines and or places so vandals will not kick when they know they are in the view area of cameras. By selecting the cameras in the objects menu (only after the '90s) you can see already placed and covered areas and hovering above your station will show the area your new cameras may cover.

    3. WIFI Zones


    Placing some WIFI Zones into your station will help your passengers navigate more easily around and they will feel a little bit better. Moreover when we will enable some future features WIFI Zones will get some more important roles as well!

    4. Ad Billboards


    Now you can make your station more colorful by placing Ad Billboards to your station. In future updates you will be able to earn some extra income by placing more billboards in the area but right now it adds some extra information points to your statistics.

    5. Homeless persons


    In update t430 some unwelcome homeless persons will also arrive to your station. Beware as too many homeless persons will make your passengers feel unpleasant and it will hit your ticket incomes highly. Your police officers will ask them to leave their newly selected benches. If you employ many police officers the likeliness of new homeless persons are lower. In the future security cameras will also keep your benches free of them.

    6. Five new language packs


    We have continued to add more language variants to the game so the complete list now as follows:

    • German
    • Russian
    • French
    • Spanish * NEW *
    • Dutch * NEW *
    • Italian * NEW *
    • Norwegian * NEW *
    • Hungarian * NEW *
    More languages may come upon request here .

    7. Updated Removal tools


    Now you do not need to remove trees one by one you can build flooring, tracks and platforms over trees. It is such a great and easy way to start over a new, beautiful station.

    General bug fixes and improvements


    We have managed to sort out a few bugs and added some more fixes here and there to the code. Some major changes as follows:
    • Linux: mouse scroll should work for zoom in and out
    • Achievements: more achievements have been fixed
    • Car headlights: fixed and moved to look better
    • Night lights: changed on masks a bit
    • Working shift problems: some have been changed and modified
    • General coding issues have been fixed
    • More objects have been added and lots of text have been changed
    Thank you guys. This is a huge update so it may contain errors as we had to change on more than 180 objects and modify their 1000s lines of code so please expect some errors here and there! Thank you and hope to get more and more new features soon! :)

    Patch - Build t400 - LIVE NOW [Public + BETA]

    Hey Guys, We have managed to add some new things to Train Station Simulator this week as well.

    NEW FEATURES


    1. Large doors can be set to: OPEN or CLOSED. You can click the small EXIT sign on top of the doors to set it.
    2. Ubuntu Linux support turns official now so the Public Branch will include Linux build as well. 3. Vandal cars are arriving very less frequently if you build more police stations

    Patch - Build t398 - LIVE NOW (BETA BRANCH)

    Hey Guys, We have addressed a few issues that you have been experiencing in a quick patch for the BETA BRANCH channel. The PUBLIC DEFAULT BRANCH will get version t400 next week including all these beta features coming too.

    Enhancements to existing features:


    • Emergency Exit cannot be placed in 2000 - now fixed
    • +/- keyboard for zooming has been added and fixed not to get errors if you reset your mouse settings
    • Black Full screen start up for some Linux version has been solved by not enabling the game starting in full screen after saving your settings files
    • A new type of cargo truck has been added that randomly appears instead of the standard truck
    • Vandal persons sometimes disappeared after returning from Pause mode - now fixed
    • Cargo handling had issues after returning from Pause - now fixed
    • Steam Save Sync has been fixed for Linux version

    NEW FEATURES

    You have to be on BETA BRANCH to be able to download the latest version! 1. Right click "Train Station Simulator" from your Steam Library 2. Select Properties / Betas / 3. Select from "Select the beta you would like to opt into" and click "beta" 4. Restart your Steam Client and the game should download the latest version. We will enable this version to the Public Branch after a few days. 1. Now you can place Emergency Exits in your station so in the near future when a station evacuation is needed due to any emergencies occurring your passengers will use these doors to leave the station as fast as possible. 2. Cargo Managers will be enabled so if you employ some new employees to your station the cargo handing will be automatic generating more income and a better service. Also some new animations will be added using trucks and lifters around your cargo area. 3. You can now drag and scroll using the right mouse button making it more easy to navigate on your station map. 4. French localization has been added for most game texts. 5. You can choose between Public and Beta branch from now but beta is very unstable for some time.

    Patch - Build t380 - LIVE NOW

    NEW FEATURES

    Some of use missed the pause button from the game so we managed to implement it for this update. But enabling an empty and boring pause button would not be much fun so we added some fun to it. The new pause feature introducing an advanced "statistics view" that will show with colorful clouds ranging from yellow (low usage) through green (all good) to red (very frequently used) of most objects. Also we have enabled percentage to see all data exactly. Statistics are updated every day and are not saving with the game so it is not updating right away needs a few minutes each load up to see stats.

    Enhancements to existing features:


    - After deleting all buffer-stops sometimes it was not possible to build new ones - now fixed - Employee menu graphical glitch - now fixed - certain language parts have been modified, - Control Room in 2010 had a graphics overlay issue - now fixed - certain timetable issues - now fixed - other general bug fixes in the code Thank you guys.     Hey Guys,

    NEW FEATURE - German translation test


    During the weekend we have enabled a few things in Train Station Simulator again. We have added the first test of the German translation of "most" game texts. It is clumsy still here and there and will not fit the menus perfectly. You may also find typo errors or menu text overlay issues with the English version too as we have completely changed the way all text are drawn in the game. Now everything is coming from an external file so basically new translations may arrive sooner. However some texts are still image based so we need to change on that in the coming weeks.

    Patch - Build t358 - LIVE NOW

    Dear Community,

    BIG SURPRISE TONIGHT


    We are giving all your guys a HUGE surprise tonight. This super secret thing will arrive in a few hours of time and we will add another announcement for it. We worked hard to fix a few irritating things for you for tonight.

    Save Images Retired


    It was a difficult decision but we have completely retired (for sometime or forever) the "small images" in SAVE and LOAD. You may find this sad as it looks great (when it worked) with the small images. We have added a few information instead of the image and will add some more in the future maybe to find your game saves easier. The main cause we retired this thing is it seem have caused most of the time the "Out Of Memory" issue as we could not fully remove these images from the background. In the future we may try to improve this but at the moment it caused more headache to everyone than benefits.

    NEW FEATURE:


    It is not exactly a feature but an interesting thing you may notice if you zoom in. On FULL HD and UP we have improved graphics by 25-30% so if you zoom in or you zoom out you will see significantly more details.

    Future Roadmap Discussion Opened

    Dear Community, It seems that the game is becoming more and more stable and less buggy every other day and week. Right now all seems to be near idealistically happening with the development of Train Station Simulator. Most of you like the game so far and we got many feature request and added many new options. Bla-bla-bla here is the link: Future Roadmap The next step will be introducing Stable Branch and Beta Branch along with the Linux Test Branch. By enabling these new options you will be able to choose between a relaxed more error free gameplay and between a supportive version that might will have crashes errors and problems but the new features will always there right every other day and week. This option is coming in the next weeks or so we need to find it out how to exactly enable this feature in the system. Linux Test Branch also coming with this change but WE CANNOT recommend buying the game yet if you use Linux as we and our great fans need some time to test if at all possible to support Linux in the future. A great supporter of Train Station Simulator suggested that we should open a Future Roadmap discussion where you can still submit request for features and options and we will try and update it with our Future Plans.     Patch - Build t348 - LIVE NOW

    Hey Guys, New year, new graphical settings. As many of you with non standard 16:9 aspects and resolutions had difficulties and issues we have managed to test out a few more different resolution settings.

    NEW FEATURE


    We have completely changed the display settings that will follow your aspect ratio from now. So if you have 16:9 aspect display now you get the same aspect ratio in windowed mode. If you have 21:9 you get the same etc. Right now we DO NOT support aspect ratio larger than 21:9. We continue development to get that work too but it seems most of you use 16:9 and 21:9. We are always here to support other formats so please open a question in the community if you have any questions. Thank you guys hopefully it is fixed for all of you!

    Happy 2018 - Patch - Build t345 - LIVE NOW

    Hey Guys! Hope you guys had wonderful Holidays and had lots of fun. Fun continues this year as we enabled many bug fixes and new features this year all along too.

    NEW FEATURES


    1. Mouse wheel scrolling


    We have enabled a great new way to navigate in your games. Now you can push the mouse-wheeler to scroll around the map in the game. This is a very useful way to go from one end to the other of your game map.

    2. Passenger AI large overhaul


    We have been working on this for a few days now but have enabled for the first time for today's patch. On the one hand, your passengers got a little bit more clever this year and now they find benches more easily around your station. On the other hand, passengers now rush only to the same train as their tickes is valid for so a Commuter will not rush to a CityLink train anymore.

    3. Wide Display Experiment


    As many of you reported difficulties on wider 3440x1440 or 5780x1080 monitors and any other resolutions that was not 1920x1080 we started testing a few things. This test has been enabled but as we have not yet managed to get our hands on a large format display it is not guaranteed that it will work at all. So we really need your help to continue reporting bugs and sending feedback. UPDATE: we have tested the 3440x1440 but users reported that however if fitted their screen but FPS dropped heavily on these systems. Moreoever controls does not seem to work perfect. Tomorrow we give it a try again! We have added a new TSS Feature Blue to vote: Setable Doors

    NEW FEATURES


    Cargo Handling


    We are happy to announce that we have enabled the very first TSS Feature Blue voted new options in Train Station Simulator: Cargo Handling
    This is a new and not deeply tested feature so you can get errors or weird things. You will find your cargo rail track on the down part of the map. When a cargo train arrives its the players' task to unload all cargo container manually. In the future you will be able to employ a "Cargo Manager" who will handle these operations automatically. The Good - unloading each container will earn you $5.000. Not bad at all especially in situations when you need money fast - unlimited resource, cargo trains come and go often The Bad - right now you have to handle this manually, - in fast mode the ropes are slow: we wanted to avoid catching the ropes on fire! :-)

    Advanced Loan System


    We have enabled a few other options in the Bank Loan menu too. You can see now how many more days to pay your loans and you can pay it back at once also. NOTE: sometimes you may realize that days and not counting back with your loan. That may happen if your balance is lower than the loan so you will need to pay the loan an extra more days later!     TSS Feature Blue - 1st and 2nd Round Winner(s) + Patch t333 - LIVE NOW

    Hey Guys, So the first TSS Feature Blue winners are the "Ticket Gates" and "Cargo Handling" for the first two weeks.

    We will upload some more entrants soon so you can continue up and down voting for the new items. For tonight's patch we will start to enable a few new bug fixes that might cause less and less Out of Memory issues and also we show you the basics of the Cargo Handling.
