Hello, we've got an update to address some bugs and issues found from our release build! Check out the patch notes below. You can make sure you're on the right version of the game by mousing over the 'FR' widget in the top left corner of the screen.

Patch Notes


Fixes
  • Fixed bug causing leaderboard to disappear when beating a level and using quick restart
  • Fixed bug causing end-level leaderboard appearing during game in 4:3 ratios
  • Fixed bug causing invisible UI to block pause button in game
  • Changed balance of Bulletproof Bugs: doses per turn is now 4, and bacteria bonus power is 40
  • Improved spanish translations in a few spots
  • Improved scaling of main menu ui elements for 4:3 aspect ratios
Known bugs
  • The bacteria bonus stat shown in the level info panel seems to be stuck at 100
  • The leaderboards appear to be capped at 10 entries... we will look into increasing that if possible.

    • Containment is a small, minimalist strategy/simulation game where you try to maintain the growth of bacteria. The core gameplay is easy to pick up but very challenging to master. The game can be completed in one sitting, but has leaderboards and challenging goals to accomplish that might take longer!

    Core Gameplay

    Containment is turn-based; the bacteria proliferate, you fight back, and the cycle continues. There are a number of rules that give depth to the strategy involved in achieving three stars on each level:
    • You have a limited number of dosages
    • Intentionally ending your turn early and letting the bacteria grow lets you research stronger antibiotics
    • All bacteria lose one health per turn
    • Any bacteria without neighbors die the next turn
    • Every isolated bacteria gains you bonus points
    • Each extra dosage at the end of the game earns you bonus points

    Aesthetic

    The game features a mix of cute and sleek design with a visually pleasing color palette and satisfying interactions in every corner. The music is soothing and relaxing to listen to while you battle the unending bacterial proliferation.

    • 9 brain-teasing and challenging levels
    • A creative sandbox mode (unlocked at the end of the game)
