Area 86 did not release in this year's 2019 October, but still, I wanted to create a pumpkin and put it on our robot! With this said, character customization is official. ( For now, it's just a pumpkin on the head with a button in options to enable it steamfacepalm ) What else did happen in October? Oh - right - I got some great news to share! Submitted Area 86 to a contest called Baltic Sea Games Award. There are 4 possible nominees in this contest: Best Game Design, Best Game Art, Best Game Audio and Best Game Narrative. Can you guess what Area 86 did in this contest? Before you answer, I must say that I was surprised when received the mail. Area 86 did win Best Game Design steamhappy OMG - I was happy and proud of my work. As a winner, I need to prepare for the award ceremony which will take place at GameOn on 16 November 2019. But it does not end there! The contest has 2nd phase and now there is a possibility to online vote for a favorite game from the finalists. The online vote can be found here: Baltic Sea Games Award info and Vote! ( don't want to push anybody, but a vote for Area 86 would be great cleanfloppy) Apart from preparing for the event and preparing stuff for contests. I did progress in Level 5 steamhappy
It still requires work on the visual side, but I just wanted to share the progress of it. After playing around with visual effects, I decided to add Post-Processing to Area 86. It does make look Area 86 better, but if it hits your performance, there is a possibility to disable it in options! Not sure if anybody will notice, but added a little feature to our robot. When the robot jumps and falls back, it bounces back a bit from the ground. Such a little simple feature - but get all the little things together and you get a decent game. ( at least that's what I think ) That's it for now and I hope you're ready for November?

We all know about Area 51
Would you believe that there is even more such places?
We just acknowledged that there is Area 86
Sources say it contains artificial intelligence research facility with
stuff that is not explainable to us!
We receive signals from it, but we have hard times figuring out how to use them.
And we don't know from what part of space it's coming from!
But we made a progress and now we can transfer your input back to the sender!
Here is some feedback on what did we discover by sending our input:
We get to control a robot.
Robot movement is very destructible and we broke many items in our path.
There is also a possibility to pick, throw & activate items while using the robot.
An unknown source that gives our robot tasks with hints on how to progress further!
That's what we did discover.
Possible that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Further discoveries are in your hands!
