So, what's it all about?
Close your eyes and picture the scene. Wait, that won't work. Open your eyes and read this description.
SUPER HELPFUL MAN a.k.a. Roy Hardcastle had been Wallow Dale's premier superhero handyman for 40 years, saving the day many, many times. There was no job too big, or small. Size was never a factor for SUPER HELPFUL MAN. If he could be helpful he would, and he did, and he was. Who was he? Where did he come from? Was the costume really necessary? Nobody really cared.
As the years passed, SUPER HELPFUL MAN eventually had to hang up the cape and the people of Wallow Dale never heard from him again.
But, superheroes don't retire, do they?
Never! Well, they might take a few years off...
At 82 years old, SUPER HELPFUL MAN has decided to suit up once again to dedicate his remaining years to being super helpful, like he pledged he would 45 years ago. The mild onset of dementia be damned!
Point and click your way through the twilight years of a superhero gifted with the extraordinary power of the common handyman. Help the people of Wallow Dale with their minor quibbles and discover the mysterious origin of the man they call SUPER HELPFUL MAN. What turned Roy Hardcastle into such a strange little man? What effect does a lifetime of superheroics have on the body and mind? Find out in tonight's true-life movie - SUPER HELPFUL MAN: The Roy Hardcastle Story.
SUPER HELPFUL MAN is an adventure game in our usual style but instead of a documentary presentation we aim to present this game as an interactive, soppy, true-life, made for TV movie. You know, the type of rubbish your Mum watches on one of those 24-hour true-life, tearjerker movie channels on cable. The game itself won't be rubbish, of course (of course!), but it will feature the same cheese, drama, questionable acting, low budget sets and tear jerking storyline seen in those awful TV movies! It's less of a Marvel blockbuster and more of a drama about the weirdo down the road that's started dressing as a superhero again sort of thing.
If you liked The Mind of Marlo and How to Cope with Boredom and Loneliness then we think you will love SUPER HELPFUL MAN. Although it is narrative heavy like the other games, there's a lot more gameplay with puzzles, side jobs, dialogue trees and exploration. As such it is also a lot longer than either game, but not too long! SUPER HELPFUL MAN is also set in the same world as How to Cope with Boredom and Loneliness so don't bee surprised to see some familiar faces!
Add it to your wishlist and follow our dev blog if you like. We still have a lot to do and all images on the store page are currently work in progress but everything should be in order for the release date on 26/11/18. We'll see you there, Bleepers! - No, it's too soon to give our rabid fanbase a nickname. We don't even have a non-rabid fanbase yet. What was I thinking? How embarrassing... I should delete this.

Hello!
If you enjoyed How to Cope... may we recommend playing our other game, The Mind of Marlo. Presented in a similar documentary style but longer and with actual gameplay and puzzles. The Mind of Marlo allows you to experience the life of Marlo Davenport, a man with a peculiar condition known as Spontaneous Silly Head Syndrome. Maybe you can help him find a cure?
"With its delightful artwork and unique mockumentary presentation, it accomplishes more in an hour than many games do in eight. It's peculiar, engaging, heartbreaking, and an absolute blast to play." Adventure Gamer

Tonight I am filming my final episode of How to Cope with Boredom and Loneliness: A Guide for the Isolated. I am meeting with Harold Fletcher, a 43 year old man who has been grounded to his bedroom for over 30 years.
Help me create an award winning documentary by picking the right scenes to shoot. Explore Harold's bedroom to find items that might shed some light on how he's coped with the boredom and loneliness from 30 years of isolation. Then we'll get the camera rolling!
Once the scenes are chosen you can sit back and watch the documentary unfold. Then we'll see what the focus group thinks. Let's make some hard hitting TV!
How to Cope with Boredom and Loneliness joins the crowded 'create your own documentary simulator' market but we hope to stand out with a touching story and memorable characters.
Features
- No real gameplay
- 20 minutes you wont get back
- A joke that makes you laugh through your nose
- Music
- Realtime 2D visuals
- Something to do while you download a proper game
What started life as a humble Ludum Dare project, HTCBL has since blossomed into a questionably better but still humble experience. It is less a game and more of a cartoon generator with dozen of scenes to combine with multiple intros and outros. We hope you enjoy it and play it multiple times to create all the possible documentaries. Choose the most on theme items for the perfect score.
