Nearly 1800 Workshop levels and approximately 240 Let's Play Together challenges later the time has come to choose a level worthy of the Level Of The Year 2021 title. It goes without saying that picking a single Workshop submission out of many, many wonderful train valleys is...problematic.
During the course of 2021 with your valuable feedback in mind we have added new objects and mechanics to the game, some still available only in Workshop levels. We are bringing these never-before-used by our level design team mechanics back with another official campaign as well as improving on these ideas and introducing brand new objects, buildings, stations-some are making their way into Train Valley 2 very soon. A process or method through the application of which one attempts to understand through deductive reasoning how a device, process, system, or piece of software accomplishes a task with very little (if any) insight into exactly how it does so.
A fine example of our player's ingenuity that indeed resulted in a new building soon to be introduced to the Editor, Reverse Engineering by @ishKiia is a story of betrayal, hostile takeover, power play among car factory owners, some questionable business practices, heavy duty train deliveries and disassembling ready to ship cars into basic components, smuggling resulting components through many Customs stations filled with officials that are not prepared for a heist of that scale and reassembling cars using smuggled resources after. A complex multistage procedure on its own, while done in reverse requires exponentially more processing power :)
A quaint grasslands valley landscape divided by a waterway suggests several stages to this operation, limited space dictates any crazy track layout you can come up with is the way to go. 15 minutes, Do Not Reverse Trains and Do Not Allow Any Train To Arrive At The Wrong Station. You do have fastest engines from the start.
