El Presidente moves New Years Eve to his birthday!

El Presidente moves New Years Eve to his birthday!

The Tropican Ministry of [strike]Mis[/strike]information - delivered with the usual flair by the ever-loyal Penultimo - has announced that our glorious leader El Prez has passed an edict officially making New Year's Eve land on El Presidente's birthday, effective immediately. Since El Presidentes birthday is the most important day in Tropico (and, lets face it, the entire world) anyway, he figured it was about time the calendar caught up with reality. He would also like to clarify that Venezuelan leader Nicols Maduro, who recently decreed to move Christmas to October 1st (see here), was NOT the originator of the idea of modernizing the calendar. In fact, Maduro was inspired by unparalleled trendsetter, El Presidente, who, in his infinite generosity, graciously shared his plans with his fellow [strike]dicta[/strike]-nation leaders so they could align their calendars accordingly.

A Tropican Revo-Llama-Lution

A Tropican Revo-Llama-Lution

Reports of secret Llama meetings across Tropico have recently started to gain traction, and Tropicos most [strike]expendable[/strike] competent *cough* detective has been appointed to the case! Penultimo, worried that the local fluffy wool population may be plotting the demise of our beloved El Presidente, has spent a week disguised as a Llama infiltrating the circle of the conspirators.
Pictured: Highly suspicious llama activity. After thorough investigation, it appears they are working on a secret project called "BananaLlama 6.9", for which they have been stealing GPUs all across Tropico. "BananaLlama 6.9" would apparently be freely shared with Llamas from all over the world in order to realise their plans for an eventual world domination. Penultimo will report back (and then be freed from his Llama-life.maybe) once he has finished assessing the threat, but so far, it seems like the stolen GPUs are SO bad that the fluffy takeover will have to stick to Llama 1.0.

Tropico 6 Update 22 - Acuerdos entre amigos

Tropico 6 Update 22 - Acuerdos entre amigos

Fellow Tropicans, We have just released Update 22 for Steam, PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 | 5. With Update 22, we have added new free content with the Trading Post building, which allows you to send wares to other players in multiplayer and foreign superpowers and create trade routes for that ware. Furthermore, we have various other fixes in our update repertoire. For more details, please check out the full changelog below. Viva Tropico!

New Building:

  • Added the Trading Post to the game, which can be found in the Traffic & Infrastructure construction menu).
  • The Trading Post enables you to send wares to foreign superpowers, which creates a trade route for that ware. Trade routes improve the more goods you send. In Multiplayer Mode, you can use the Trading Post to send wares to other players who also own a Trading Post.
  • The More Samples building upgrade reduces the time until you can ship to the same superpower again by -25%. Existing cooldowns are not affected.

Gameplay Adjustments:

  • Pirate attacks have been adjusted. Once a building with resources got destroyed, they plunder the resources. When they have plundered enough, they leave Tropico again if not defeated by the player. Adjustments to the amount of plunder scales are possible with the "Pirate Difficulty" in the Sandbox settings.
    • This change was based on your community feedback as it fits the pirate theme more.

Fixes:

  • Fixed some issues with old generated random map codes, where landscape features and resources were displaced after loading.
  • Fixed some issues with road placement when demolishing Tunnels.
  • Fixed an issue where plantations were granted the Multiculture workmode bonus while paused.
  • Fixed an issue where soldiers from Barracks and Army Bases were not immediately running to the workplace during an attack.
  • Reduced the size for militia-squads from 5 to 4, so that Police Stations can now spawn a squad without the second shift upgrade.
  • Fixed an issue where Militia squads spawned from Police Stations without a Military Minister of Defense existing in the game.
  • Fixed an issue where the Survivor Achievement was not unlocked after completion on the Acantilado Humeante sandbox map.
  • Fixed an issue where the Golden Silverware workmode of the Gourmet Restaurant wrongly gave a bonus to superpower standing.
  • Fixed several issues with the Lure Fish workmode of the Snorkel Bay. In addition, a display for the replenishing rate to fish deposits has been added.
  • Fixed an issue where the Tourist onlybutton showed up in the UI of Tourist Buildings, where it was already redundant.
  • Fixed an issue where the radiobroadcasts for Landmarks were not playing when they were built within less than 1 year of each other.
  • Fixed an issue where the babies ethnicity was random and independent from its parents.
  • Fixed an issue with odd values in workmode-descriptions of the Childhood Museum. (T6DEV-7063)
  • Fixed an issue where the Fire-Fighting Helicopter was still usable while the Fire Station was paused.
  • Fixed an issue where rubble appeared under stackable buildings when adding new stacks.
  • Fixed an issue where the Dock was wrongly placed on the ocean on randomly generated maps.
  • Fixed an issue where several Props did not show up in some buildings.
  • Fixed an issue where the consequences when ending work shifts were applied multiple times under certain circumstances (for example during an industrialist escalation).
  • Fixed an issue with homeless citizens not leaving their last visited building while the No more Shacks edict is active.
  • Fixed an issue where visitor agents got stuck after relocating a building through the "Relocate" interaction button.

DLC Fixes:

  • [Caribbean Skies/Festival DLC] Fixed an issue where Balloon Tours and Ticket Booths accepted Tropicans as visitors, despite being a Tourist only building.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] Fixed an issue where a third Layer of the Capsule Hotel only added 5 visitor slots instead of 6.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] Fixed an issue where the Moon Space Mission prevented disasters forever, and being enabled though disasters are disabled in sandbox games.
  • [New Frontier DLC] Fixed an issue where all immigrants that were awarded by the Filming on Location quest were male.

Dear Tropicans Today I am forced to deliver a shocking truth: Our beloved leader, El Presidente, is a lizardman! His elegant suit, his charming stance is nothing but a LIE. In Viva la Tropico they betray us Viva la pueblo lagarto they chant behind closed doors!!! Have you ever glimpsed our EL Presidente without sunglasses? Without his glorious beard? No?? Its not mere coincidence! The reason is that he hides his reptilian eyes and scales beneath them!! Here is definitive proof: I was able to intercept a fan-letter which was addressed to our El-Prez himself! [] Lizzzardente, we must keep the warmbloods from figuring out your Identity. If thosssse warm blooded ANIMALSSSS know [] you are one of usss, we will have to reschedule our plansss[] terrible [] we dont [] because you are the greatessst of them all! But what is their true motivation? [strike]El Presidente,[/strike] El Lizardente is an elite in the realms of Lizardpeople, pulling the strings behind the scenes and holding our future in the palm of his hand. Our economy, our daily life, our SUFFERING is controlled by them IN SECRET. UNBELIEVEABLE. But I tell you: THE SECRECY MUST BE STOPPED! Not only filthy Lizardente is part of the skin-shedders: Sister Francesca, Mason Belmonte and General Rodrigo Rodriguez all have their lizardry eyes on us.
  • The Order of the Howling Skull? No one ever noticed????
  • Mason Belmonte is just a capitalistic snake!
  • Isnt it weird that the strategies of our legendary general all involve neck breaking maneuvers? The reason is clear: He doesnt have a spine or neck!
The Lizardpeople are a powerful organization: Angelo Merte or [strike]Mark Zuckerberg[/strike], all have their claws buried deep in our world. Their skin is cold, and their stare feels dead. Do you want someone like that to have secret control over your life??! Please share this message all around Tropico before its too late! The truth must come to light. Easter Festivities Idea!

Greetings, El Presidente!

I have an egg-citing idea just in time for Easter festivities! Picture this: Bunnies behind the wheel, cruising the streets of Tropico. Now, I know what you're thinking, El Presidente: Penultimo, have you lost your marbles? Bunnies driving cars in Tropico? Fear not! This is just an egg-celent suggestion, a dream of what could be. But oh, just imagine that! Bunnies zipping around, delivering coconuts instead of eggs for a small fee, of course. And you can tell them where to drive (even through your political enemies buildings)! Truly, the future of Tropico knows no bounds!
Felices Pascuas!

Tropico 6 5th Anniversary!

Tropico 6 5th Anniversary!

Turn up the Tropico music, fetch your chonky llama balloons and celebrate with us and the whole Palace team: Happy 5th Birthday to Tropico 6! In the 5 years since release, El Prez made Tropico great again with many new free landmarks like the Moonlander, new buildings like the Overwatch Tower, maps for multiplayer & sandbox mode, and whole new scenarios in 7 full DLCs. And he continues to improve! His reign might only be 5 years old, but he's already shown off such incredible power (and such a lush beard)!
We want to especially thank YOU for legitimately voting for El Prez for 5 years. You, the loyal community, are the reason why El Presidente can be the leader for so long (not just because of his rigged elections *COUGH*) and you are the reason we want to continue making Tropico even greater. Long live El Prez and long live every one of you who carries their own El Prez in their heart heres to many more Tropican years to come!

After a week of thorough research and Tropican-Stalking, Penultimo has sent back 2 pieces of evidence, which hint towards a foreign invasion of Tropico, whose ultimate evil powers seem to be luring harmless citizens on Dungeon Tours and turning them into weird little green things.

Rumor has it, the master of said Dungeon has come to challenge El Presidentes position as the worlds greatest dictator. Penultimo promised to infiltrate said Dungeon, but has yet to return. In the meantime, you can now build your own 4th Dungeon Entrance in Tropico 6! In case you too would like to join the evil forces, you can hop into the Dungeon and find out more here: https://dungeons4-game.com/

Modding Workshop - El Presidente announces Modding Edict!

El Presidente announces Modding Edict! - News for a select group of Tropicans

Dear Tropicans, The Tropican Ministry of World Domination and Garden Plots (short: The TM of WoDoGaP) is spilling the beans for you, our Community. The Ministry of Development and Binary Magic is working closely with the new TM of WoDoGaP and are looking for Tropicans who feel capable of assisting El Presidente in making Tropico the greatest nation there has ever been. El Presidente has decided to approve official modding support and YOU can be one of the first to actually create an El Presidente approved Tropico 6 Mod and let your imagination run wild. Our Tropico 6 Team is currently planning to start an exclusive workshop with the Operation Garden Gnome' Modding Workshop. For this, we want to recruit a small group of Binary Magicians who have some previous experience with modding, programming or asset creation, to participate in our workshop and try the Operation Garden Gnome' Tools firsthand. Please keep in mind, that you would be working with the actual developer tools and not an editor. In this test run, you will receive access to our in-development toolkit prior to its official launch, as well as an exclusive closed section of our Discord hub with videos and direct support from our dev and our CM team. When is all of this happening and how do I participate? If you would like to participate, please apply via email to modding@kalypsomedia.com with a link to 1-3 examples of your previous modding work along with your Discord tag, so we can invite you to the server and grant you access to the exclusive area for the workshop as well as the toolkit. Applications will close on the 18th of April, so if you want to take part in this next step for Tropico 6, please make sure to drop us an email before that day. The workshop will officially kick off on April 26th. We know that modding is something the community really wishes for, and we see how much value it adds to a game; be that by allowing the community to express themselves creatively or feel involved in expanding the games they love. We want to support the community with our Operation Garden Gnome in taking the first steps with our modding tools, and to provide the opportunity to create the Tropico you want. To honor the Binary Magicians who put a lot of time and effort into creating mods for the community, we will be spotlighting your awesome mods on our channels and giving the modders special discord roles as badges of honor for their hard work. Sincerely yours, The Tropican Ministry of Development and Binary Magic and The Tropican Ministry of World Domination and Garden Plots

Update 20 - Hotfix #1

Update 20 Hotfix #1

With Hotfix 1 on Steam, Epic and GOG, we have now fixed some issues occurring with Update 20 in Tropico 6, such as all Tropicans turning male when loading a savegame after Update 20. We are currently working on bringing the Hotfix to the other platforms and will release it as soon as possible. We are also still working on the other reported issues. Please stay tuned.
  • Fixed an issue, where all citizens became male after loading the game. (Please note: Savegames which are affected by this issue cannot be restored to their original state and will start with an all-male population. However, women will be able to immigrate to Tropico again. Newly created savegames as well as older ones from before Update 20 are not affected, so please use an old savegame or start a new one.)
  • Fixed an issue, where special citizens disappeared in the Almanac and criminal roles became hidden after loading the game.
  • Added sound when selecting the Eternal Flame.
  • [Festival] Fixed the Customer Service edict sometimes not being applied correctly.
  • [Lobbyistico] Fixed a quest that did not accept the Eternal Flame as objective.

With update 20, we have added a true Tropican Easter wonder, a new, free landmark: The Eternal Flame, for the Modern Times era. In addition, we have, among other changes, made it clearer that tourists are needed to complete mission 3 of the New Frontiers DLC. Furthermore, we have fixed an issue, where selecting celebrities no longer disables the happiness and thoughts tabs of regular tourists. We have also implemented a change which leads to bus stations shutting down if the driver is stuck in traffic for too long, so passengers can take other routes to their destinations. For more details, please check out the full changelog below. Viva Tropico!

Changelog Update 20

New Features

  • A new landmark has been added to the Modern Times era: The Eternal Flame. While providing fun for visiting Tropicans and tourists, it can also influence visiting citizens politically, grant permanent personal experience or help in foreign aid finances.

Changes

  • If a bus driver is completely stuck in traffic and cannot reach the destination stop in a reasonable amount of time, the bus stop will be closed after 20 days so that waiting passengers can take other routes to their destination.
  • Building driveways will now update their road access correctly if a road building (like a Checkpoint) in front of them has been demolished.
  • Selecting a celebrity no longer disables the tabs for happiness and thoughts of normal tourists.
  • Fixed an issue where teamsters would only transport small amounts of manure.
  • The manure stockpile for the Agriculture Tower is now visualized.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Offshore Wind Turbine from being repaired after it was damaged.
  • Fixed an issue where Tropicans could walk directly through some buildings on some maps.
  • Fixed an issue where the status-icon when moving the Aircraft Carrier or Cruise Ship, was not adjusted properly to the new location.
  • Fixed an issue where continuing a heist after it was cancelled caused problems with the individual tasks that needed to be completed in the heist.
  • Fixed an issue where prisoners did not disappear from the list of detention if they were killed on the way to the prison.
  • Fixed an issue where the player was unable to progress, if the Cristo Rendentor landmark was obtained through a heist during the Battle Royal map.
  • [Festival DLC] Fixed an issue where the mission A party for the ages! couldnt be completed when choosing to heist the Great Wall landmark.
  • [Lobbyistico DLC] Fixed an issue, where demolishing an El Presidente Club after a conservative has been invited within the Once And Forever mission would corrupt the save file.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] Fixed an issue in the Too Smart for Her Own Good mission where the construction of the required buildings next to the Research Lab was sometimes not counted towards mission progress correctly.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] Fixed the cheese produced in the Harvest Cheese option, available upon completion of a successful moon mission, not being delivered to warehouses.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] In mission Stack 'em high a hint was added, indicating that the capsule hotel needs to have rich tourists to complete the mission.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] In mission 3 it is now clearly stated that tourists are needed to complete the space mission task.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] Adjusted the ending sequence of mission 4 so that the Spaceport Complex is now displayed correctly in the ending cutscene.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] Fixed the Radio Broadcast of El Prez repeating itself when visiting the Spaceport Complex.
  • [New Frontiers DLC] Removed the hidden modifications that the Mars-workmode in the Spaceport Complex gave.
  • [Multiplayer] Fixed an issue where Tropocoin value was displayed with the value zero.
  • [Localization] Implemented several text and menu fixes.
  • [Localization] The character Patch now has the appropriate voice modifier to sound like a robot in French and Spanish.

Hotfix:

  • Fixed an issue that led to trade routes not working as intended.

El Prez in class? - Tropico as a case study at university

El Prez in class? - Tropico as a case study at university

Find out how the University of Warsaw incorporated Tropico 5 in their classes in the field of Political Science and International Studies

Jacek Zikowski, Assistant Professorat the Department of Political Theory and Political Thought from the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw and Piotr Rutkowski, MA, have been conducting innovative classes for students of Political Science, Internal Security and other departments (e.g., part of general university classes) and have included computer games and gamification mechanisms in education since 2013. This semester, the software used included our city building and political simulation game, Tropico 5! For which, we at Kalypso Media were thrilled to provide some keys for educational use. Of course, its known worldwide that El Presidente has a PhD in AwesomenessTM!

The research team at University Warsaw kindly took some time to answer our questions about the classes and incorporating Tropico 5 into them:

You successfully included Tropico 5 in your political science lectures. What makes Tropico 5 a useful tool for teaching in your field, in your opinion? Piotr Rutkowski: Tropico 5 in my view is a strategy game and very interesting social reality simulator with a slightly humorous tone, which engages the players all the more and develops all their competences. It is an ideal game for our classes, as it allows students to develop something that Professor Zikowski and I call political imagination. How do you define political imagination and how does this manifest in Tropico 5? Piotr Rutkowski: It is the awareness of multidimensionality, multilevelness of social reality, realizing that decisions in one aspect affect all others, that dilemmas do not have a perfect solution. In Tropico 5 we find all the features that allow us to achieve this we have economic, political and international elements that the student must deal with at the same time while playing the game, and each decision has consequences for what will happen next. Decision-making is a key issue here, and in the entire course, one of the goals is to improve the optimization of decisions (as competencies) from the perspective of goals assumed by students. Tropico 5 also offers many possibilities here. The idea behind the classes is that the students, having familiarized themselves with the game, play a multiplayer session, where they will be able to specify what is important to them and what attitude they will adopt - will they help each other, or will they be competitive? Each of these approaches will require different priorities while dealing with day-to-day management. In addition to purely practical values, our classes and Tropico 5 have a self-reflection function. They enable students to get to know themselves and their approach to tasks and problems. Choosing a cooperative or competitive approach, with no predetermined goals from our instructors, tells us a lot about ourselves and our societies.
So, what can students take away and learn from Tropico 5? Professor Jacek Zikowski: Thanks to Tropico 5, students acquire competencies and skills that are very much needed on today's labor market. It is a very good complement to traditional forms of teaching. I especially notice this as the head of Internal Security studies. All this is maintained in a young people-friendly environment of computer hardware and computer software, as well as using role-playing, which strengthens learning outcomes and makes students enjoy classes. Tropico 5 has a lot of mechanics that enable the acquisition of competences necessary on the labour market. The basis here is the optimization of the decision-making process from the perspective of the player's goals, but also those proposed by the game. Secondly, these decisions are subject to the functioning of the player with a deficit of resources and a deficit of time. Thirdly, we have elements of crisis management in the form of unexpected events, cataclysms. Most importantly, players cannot forget about any of the aspects, because the game can remind us at the least expected moment and teach us from mistakes (rebellion, superpower attack or lost elections). How does this translate into reality? Professor Jacek Zikowski: Tropico 5 adequately reflects the realities of the social world and what students will have to deal with in everyday life as managers, employees in private economy or political institutions and even politicians. I would like to mention that after each game we discuss the players' feelings, their approaches, strategies, decision-making processes, doubts, problems they encountered, which makes them reflect on their decision-making processes in front of themselves and their colleagues, which further strengthens competences they acquire by playing games such as Tropico 5. We are very excited about cooperation with Kalypso Media and using Tropico 5 in our classes. Wed like to thank Professor Jacek Zikowski and Piotr Rutkowski for taking the time to explain their approach and to provide us with some images of the practical implementation of Tropico 5 into their classes! Another NEW FREE Landmark unlocked!

Another NEW FREE Landmark unlocked!

Dear Tropicans, a new landmark, the Great Wall of China, has just unlocked for you all in Tropico 6 for PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. When El Presidente reached the moon, he was shocked to discover that the greatest nation of all time, TROPICO, was not visible from up there. This is, of course, a colossal, inexcusable mistake by Penultimo that must be corrected immediately. To solve this annoyance, El Presidente demands you to steal- uhm borrow the landmark for an indefinite period of time, now! This wall even has the beneficial side effect of making it easier for our loyal Tropicans to live happily ever after (and dont leave Tropico, ever)! To prevent rocks from coming loose and endangering the safety of the Tropicans, Penultimo also has been ordered to walk the 21,000 km route every day on a trial basis. Definitely NOT a punishment for his embarrassing failure!!
The new landmark The Great Wall of China is now available on PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

'Welcome to Tropico Hill' - A chilling adventure of Penultimo

Tropican Horror Stories

'Welcome to Tropico Hill' A chilling adventure of Penultimo

After Penultimo comes back to Tropico from his meetings with the Tropican Ministry of International Affairs and Legally Stolen Landmarks (where he does all the hard work for El Presidente, even without a pay rise), he is welcomed by an unusual sightIt is not the Tropico he knows, the whole precious island of El Presidente is covered in fog and wait a minute where are all the people? All the beloved citizens that always voluntarily vote for El Presidente?
Penultimos fear reaches another level as he steps into what seems like ketchup but isnt. Penultimo runs further down the muddy street looking for any kind of help, until he sees a sign that says: Welcome to Tropico Hill. What could that mean? Penultimo tries to pull himself together and thinks of El Presidente. He must make sure his favourite ruler is safe! As he walks deeper and deeper into the fog, his spine-tingling sensation becomes more apparent. It is clear that the cause for this is not the coldness which has suddenly engulfed the whole Tropican town, but the indescribable, horrifying noises from afar. It sounds like tower bells that express some kind of anger from something, or someone
Penultimo feels repulsed and tries to shun the sounds but he seems to be getting closer to it, closer to the madness. Hee sees nothing but a foggy Tropico. Are the sounds all just in his head? And suddenly, like his subconscious mind wants to emerge from its furtive hideout, Penultimos fears manifest themselves. In front of him, a creature that seems like a regular human, stops him on his journey. On the creatures head is something rather peculiar it is not a normal human head but is pyramid shaped. His presence feels like it existed in this world since time immemorial and as it draws nearer, Penultimo is stunned like a helpless lama. With each step, the creature emits a hideous, unbearable sound that scratches the inner mechanisms of Penultimos mind.
On the verge of madness, Penultimo notices the face of the creature as it creeps ever closer. On his pyramid mask, it is wearing sunglasses and a blue hat! Only one person in Tropico could wear such fancy and incredibly good-looking accessories El Presidente! Penultimo sinks into relief, realizing he finally found his leader. But suddenly, the presumptive El Presidente raises his muscular arm! He would never hurt Penultimo right? Unless, it is not El Presidente! The creature takes off the sunglasses and to Penultimos surprise, it also removes its hideous mask. Underneath emerges a smiling El Presidente who just played a Halloween joke on poor Penultimo. However, the two cant laugh together for long. In the distance, they see a small helpless child wearing a mask with distorted face shapes. Probably just another kid playing some Halloween tricks! Probably

Happy Halloween!

Tropico 6 free to try this weekend on Steam, new 'Lobbyistico' DLC available now

Tropico 6 is free to try this weekend for all Steam users. Unanimously praised by critics as the greatest, most attractive dictator simulator of all time, we thought it would benefit everyone to share in its glory, and we look forward to welcoming a host of talented new players, with big brains, to the shores of the republic. Additionally, Lobbyistico, Tropico 6's third DLC, is out now and it's a great DLC - amazing DLC if you look at a long lineage of amazing content made by a very smart company. "Incredible DLC" - it's always been said, and that's no surprise, really. The appearance of DLCs like this one is rare, but when they do arrive, they come in the best packages. "The best DLCs for the best people", we say, because those people and us and companies like that have everything they want in life. More content and more DLCs, really. Bigger and better than anybody else. Lobbyistico DLC offers unprecedented access to big league politics, more so than any other video game. The European Union has arrived on the isles of Tropico and with it, new buildings such as the El Presidente Club - a brilliant place to meet with the best leaders and lobbyists to discuss tremendous and well thought out political ideas. Another new addition is the Corruption Agency, a terrific and reputable outfit whose services can be employed to fight the spread of corruption - or at least sweep it under the rug. Tropico 6's Lobbyistico DLC is available now at the Kalypso Store and on Steam, with PS4 and Xbox One versions to arrive later. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1282350/Tropico_6__Lobbyistico/

Title: Tropico 6 - Lobbyistico DLC Platforms: Win-PC, Mac, Linux Developer: Limbic Entertainment Genre: Dictator simulator Release: Out now - Win-PC, Mac, Linux Hashtag: #Tropico6 #Lobbyistico https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwAlPpgOJDY&feature=youtu.be

About Tropico 6 - Lobbyistico DLC:

What do the European Union and corruption have in common? Nothing, of course, since the EU is as pure as a drop of finest Tropican rum. So why not run a field study and get to know more about this curious political entity; and why not run it from the great nation of Tropico, so famously governed by corrupt politicians (except for El Presidente, of course)? Join the EU in their investigations into 'corruptionomics' and unlock powerful new perks in Tropico 6 - Lobbyistico DLC. Corruption lies at the heart of the Lobbyistico DLC. Invite faction leaders as lobbyists into the El Presidente Club and conduct backroom politics to unlock a unique new set of perks to boost the economy and manipulate faction standings. However, with increased lobby work comes increased corruption, all of which will impact the wider Tropican economy and society. Fight the spread of corruption - or, lets be honest, just try to cover everything up - using the new Corruption Agency. Enjoy two new traits, three music tracks and a fetching new set of customization items for El Prez and his palace.

Features:

  • Corruption gameplay mechanic: Use lobby work to gain access to new perks to boost your economy while trying to balance the resulting corruption, which will ruin your island paradise with negative effects if left unchecked
  • 3 new buildings: Get some dirty lobbying work done in the El Presidente Club, where statesmen can discuss affairs of state in seclusion and secrecy. Use the Corruption Agency to cover everything up and invite faction leaders to stay at the Official Residence in exchange for political favours
  • Additional traits: 'Polarizing', 'All For The Folk'
  • Even more music: Viva la Corrupcin, Fiesta en el Club, Bruselas est Bailando
  • 4 additional customization options for El Prez and the palace

Tropico 6 Update Nmero Tres (Rev. 98136)

Fellow Tropicans! We are releasing a small update this week that is mostly intended to solve some crashing issues. However, the Tropican Department of Adequate Generosity also managed to add in a few gameplay fixes and improvements to round out the update and guarantee citizens satisfaction (or else). Rest assured that we are still focused on working on the multiplayer savegames feature. In the past weeks since launch we have made good progress on it, but we will require a bit more time to have it ready to share with you. Thank you for your patience. We hope you enjoy this update and have a very Tropican Easter holiday. Thank you for your ongoing support! Viva Tropico! Viva El Presidente!

    Bug Fixes

    • Fixed Market Manipulation raids not spawning the intended trade routes.
    • Fixed issues that caused the Modernize action for buildings to fail.
    • Fixed invisible enemy units that could lead to neverending attacks.

    Improvements

    • Removed the Modernize All button from upgrade tabs of some buildings, as it became redundant after we introduced the Crtl+LMB keybinding for the same action.
    • Players can now also hold the Shift key to apply upgrades, budgets and workmodes to all buildings of the same type.

    Crash Fixes

    • Fixed a crash that could occur when signing the constitution.
    • Fixed some rare gameplay-related crashes.
    • Fixed several technical crashes.
    • Fixed crashes for Multiplayer games.

    Known Issues

    Technical Issues:
    • We are aware that some users who have Asus Aura drivers installed experience crashes either on startup or during gameplay.
      • We are working on tracking down what is causing these crashes and to offer a solution as soon as possible.
      • In the meantime, if you are experiencing crashes, please check if you have Asus Aura drivers installed and if uninstalling them solves the issues for you.
    • The game can crash if players attempt to resize their window during a loading screen
    • Linux: Random crashes on startup can occur
      • The achievement Terraformer does not unlock correctly
      • The achievement Been there, Done That does not unlock correctly
    Presentation Issues:
    • El Presidente can be shown walking sideways and there can be issues with election speeches, e.g. El Presidente facing in the wrong direction.

    Gameplay Issues:
    • RMG: Entering invalid Seeds or Share Codes can lead to flawed RMG maps.
    • The pathfinding and spawning of rebels during Guerilla attacks can be flawed.
    • Loading a savegame can lead to a change in the players support rating.
    • Market Manipulation trade routes for import are more efficient than intended. This will be adjusted in a future patch.
    • The metro upgrade for the airport causes Tropicans and tourists to get stuck.
      • Loading a savegame will solve the problem shortly. Therefore, we recommend to not purchase the upgrade and build a regular Metro Station instead.
    Multiplayer:
    • Raids are displayed in the overview tab for clients, even if they are completed.
    • Clients can see the hosts palace construction info.
    • 4-player matches are sometimes not as stable/well-performing as 2- and 3-player matches.

Tropico 6 Release update Nmero Dos (Rev. 97490)

Fellow Tropicans! Weve been overwhelmed by your amazing feedback and support since the release of Tropico 6. In fact, there were reports that even El Presidente shed a single, proud tear, proving once and for all that our beloved head of state is actually human after all. As a side note, the tear is now being analyzed in the National Research Lab of Tropico to investigate claims that it is the source of everlasting life. Anyway, today were thrilled to share our first big update with you, which addresses a couple of crashes and introduces lots of bug fixes for both minor and major gameplay issues. We know that there are many of you that are waiting for multiplayer savegames to be enabled. We are working on this as our highest priority, but its not quite ready yet so unfortunately this update will not include this feature. We kindly ask you for your patience and hope that you enjoy the singleplayer content in the meantime. As for overall balancing, we have deliberately decided against making balancing changes at this point because the game is still so fresh. Of course, we are always reading your feedback and know that there are some of you that find certain aspects of the game either too easy or too difficult. Open Letter #2 to the Tropico Community March 2019

Nearly there! Its been a lot of work, but finally Tropico 6 is ready for release on March 29, 2019. As owner and CEO of Kalypso Media, the hugely positive feedback from the Tropico community has been truly overwhelming for me, and I can promise you that everyone on Team Tropico will keep working hard all the way to launch and beyond in order to incorporate and realize as many of your requests as possible. Since the start of the beta last fall, weve already implemented a lot of the features and improvements youve been looking for into the game, and as a fan of El Presidente, I must say that I now consider Tropico 6 to be the best and most comprehensive game in the series. Along with the island archipelagos, world wonders, bridges and tunnels and new transport options planned from the very beginning, we have been really focusing on player feedback, improving and adding features like more extensive tool tips, better balancing, expanded hotkey and keybinding options, a completely redesigned trading menu, warfare and additional content (such as maps, buildings and edicts) over recent months. For a sandbox player like me, these quality-of-life improvements make it so much easier to build a large Caribbean state on several islands and I can even adapt the maximum population density to my hardware setup. Im continually amazed at just how complex Tropico 6 is. Every single citizen is individually simulated, and it requires a high degree of technical know-how to program the artificial intelligence behind this so that it runs smoothly on standard computers with average processors and graphics cards. I would like to give a quick shout out at this point to our partners at Intel, AMD and Nvidia, who have supported us greatly during development. But, we also have to be honest. Even though we think the game has now become very good, we will not be able to consider every single suggestion and wish before release. Weve already developed a long-term plan beyond the initial release to add new features to make Tropico 6 even better. Especially in multiplayer mode there will be many improvements like lobbies, savegames and an expanded diplomacy system. We are also working on improving the RMG map editor for endless sandbox map creation and more variety (e.g. volcanos). In addition, we are developing an in-game map editor to support user-built maps. An extended bus-route system and improved superpower options are also planned, along with many other small improvements.
One thing we unfortunately wont be able to deliver at release on March 29th is a 100% working version for Mac OS. During performance tests, we noticed that the game doesnt run smoothly enough on a few older Macs. Since I play Tropico 6 on an older MacBook Pro myself (and it does run), I have now insisted that we provide a preview version for Mac OS with all the features of the full game on Steam on launch day with the full version available soon for the Mac App Store as well. I know its not perfect, and we promised a simultaneous release on PC and Mac, but it wouldnt be fair to deliver the current version as the final Tropico 6 on Mac if it doesnt work or suffers from poor performance on a few systems, especially if they meet our specified system requirements. In just a few days, you can see our new vision of Tropico for yourself. Were all very excited but we also know that we will continue to work on the game to make it perfect. Please dont hesitate to send us your feedback and suggestions, we listen to each and every one. We wish you lots of fun on your (mis)adventures in Tropico 6, and hope you will continue to support us (and El Presidente) on our journey! Yours sincerely and thankfully, Simon Hellwig Owner and Managing Director of Kalypso Media Group

Election speeches are back! Address the people and make promises that you can’t possibly keep.

In times of political turmoil and social unrest, the people are calling for visionary leaders, who will steer the fate of their country with foresight and ingenuity. Prove yourself once again as a feared dictator or peace-loving statesman on the island state of Tropico and shape the fate of your very own banana republic through four distinctive eras. Face new challenges on the international stage and always keep the needs of your people in mind.

For the first time in the series, manage extensive archipelagos, build bridges to connect your islands and use new means of transportation and infrastructure. Send your Tropicans on raids to steal the wonders of the world, including the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower. Customize your palace at will and give election speeches from your balcony, to win the favor of your subjects.
