We released the "Strike Update" last month and one feature we added was the boss theme music. People seemed to love the new songs and asked us where to get them. Well, since the boss music was added to the game for free, why not release the music for everyone to enjoy? For free, of course. So here you go. Please download and enjoy the sweet, sweet tunes by our very own, cheese-loving composer, Matias Lehtoranta.
To download the songs, find and install the "Strike Update OST' from your Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax DLC list. Alternatively, you can download the OST as a .zip from our download page: https://nc.dreamloop.net/index.php/s/OzXFXEGfWNUgQgm
The songs included in the "Strike Update OST" are:

We announced a patch for Stardust Galaxy Warriors in our 2nd year anniversary stream last year and now it is finally here! We have made bunch of changes and slight adjustments to the game, starting with the main menu. When you launch SGW, you will be greeted by the new main menu. The different game modes can now be found under the “Play” button. In-game, there have been many small tweaks to the gameplay. For example, you can now enable “auto-melee” from the options menu that allows you to hold the melee-button to slash continuously. Beyond just tweaks and bug fixes, we have added some completely new content, such as new sound- and visual effects, music and even a new game mode! The new audiovisual effects were added to make some enemy behaviors clearer and to generally add some extra punch to the attacks. The boss fights are getting spiced up with new boss music! The new music has been composed by non-other than Matias Lehtoranta, the composer of the original game’s soundtrack! The new game mode – Strike – is a variant on the ‘Gauntlet’ mode, featuring the endlessly scaling enemy waves of the Gauntlet, but implementing the shop from the Campaign between every 3 stages. The Strike mode also features its own trophies/achievements for all of you achievement hunters! Below is a list of the changes and additions the patch introduces.
PATCH NOTES (26.4.2018):
- Separated game mode selection to a ‘Play’ menu from main menu.
- New ‘Strike’ game mode: similar to ‘Gauntlet’ but with added store and different enemy progression.
- Trophies/Achievements for ‘Strike’ game mode.
- Removed ‘Gauntlet Store’ option from custom option presets.
- New Boss music themes by Matias Lehtoranta!
- New enemies for Gauntlet and Strike modes.
- Streamlined ‘Gauntlet’ experience now with (at least) 100% more action!
- Enemy bullets and enemies themselves are destroyed when a boss dies.
- Silver Wolf distortion can now be used when the distortion bar is half full, and costs half a bar. Damage and cooldown have been adjusted as well.
- Added an option for automatic melee slashes when the melee button is held.
- More audiovisual effects and polish.
- Improved performance in general.
- Misc small fixes and improvements.

Hello folks! What a year it has been: We (Dreamloop Games) had our second birthday, Stardust Galaxy Warriors turned 2 years old and our home country, Finland, turned 100 years old! We have been extremely busy working on all kinds of outsourcing jobs, which have given us the opportunity to get to know a bunch of great gamedev people around the world. We have also started to look into a sequel to our beloved side-scrolling SHMUP-brawler Stardust Galaxy Warriors, though the project is still very much in the idea stage. AND finally, we have announced that SGW will be receiving a new content patch and DLC during the year 2018! The patch will be free to everyone and will feature some new content (a new gauntlet game mode with session based progression and tweaked difficulty), balanced weapons and mechs and bug fixes. We have been listening to what players have been saying about the game and we will be making the changes based on that feedback (Plus we’ll be fixing a few things that have kept the team awake at night for a year now). So, if you have anything you would like us to add, fix or change, let us know on the forums, Twitter, Facebook or Youtube! The DLC is planned to focus around mech specific challenges and gameplay. We want to give the hardcore SGW players some new challenges to beat with this DLC, making sure that you get as much bang for your buck as possible. And of course, there will be new achievements to hunt! More on the DLC details as we move on with the development so stay tuned! We are super thankful to all of you who have bought Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax, all who have given us feedback and critique on the game, all who have reviewed the game and all who have created content of our game! We hope you will like what we have in store for you in the patch and DLC! We’d like to wish you all happy holidays and a great new year! -Dreamloop Games

The grand update for Stardust Galaxy Warriors is around the corner! The update is set for release on September 9th, coinciding with the console (Xbox One, PS4) release of the game! As the patch notes for the update are so long we thought we'd give you a week to read through them. So let's get started with the biggest addition to the game, Amber Fox!
TLDR; a lot of new and updated stuff. :sgw:
New character: Amber Fox
- Offensive support mech class
- Originally a discarded, non-functional prototype, the identity of Amber Fox pilot is unknown. The pilot does not talk, and always wears a stylised fox mask. The other pilots think hes probably a clone of Archibald Stardust, but Archibald himself neither confirms or denies this. Regardless, having proven extremely useful on several critical missions in the past, Amber Fox is now an official member of Stardust Galaxy Warriors.
- Amber Fox Special Ability can absorb enemy projectiles into a ball of energy and release it as a powerful projectile. Overloading the energy storing capacitors will damage and stun Amber Fox.
- Amber Fox Distortion Technique, Foxfire, stuns all enemies on the screen as well as makes them more vulnerable to all forms of damage for the duration of the stun.
Gameplay
- New game+ -mode allows you to continue the campaign after beating it, with increased difficulty, but keeping all the upgrades from your previous playthrough. You can keep looping through the campaign over and over again, with ever-increasing enemy durability and damage.
- All-new boss behaviours in New Game+.
- Added checkpoints before every boss fight.
- Changed some enemy behaviours to be less annoying.
- Completely changed powerups to be a bit more interesting and powerful.
- In addition to the above, a completely new type of powerup was added: drone systems. These little helpers fire automatically, and pack a serious punch!
- Revised powerup spawning logic to be more consistent and conducive to nice gameplay flow.
- Added a combo score multiplier which increases on enemy kills, and resets on taking damage. Modified resource gain to compensate.
- Score is now tracked individually for each player in multiplayer.
- Added status effects: burn, acid, slow, damage amplification.
- Changed distortion tech triggers for Black Bear and Silver Wolf to use cooldowns instead of damage dealt
- Distortion tech bars accumulate at a higher rate when using special abilities
- Custom upgrade fixes and rebalancing. Price changes and Stardust Emblems which become available when everything else is maxed out and give minor stat improvements. All custom upgrades also now become more expensive for a player every time they purchase one.
- Modified the way the upgrades in the upgrade store are randomized to provide less duplicates or redundant items, and more variety in general.
- The projectiles from the Grenade Launcher now release shrapnel.
- The Flamethrower now applies a burn effect on enemies, which makes them take damage over time and makes them more vulnerable to damage. This effect stacks with itself.
Visuals
- Visual improvements on all level backgrounds. Including, but not limited to, tonemapping each level so that enemy projectiles are easier to notice.
- Individual weapon chassis for each mech. No more gray boxes!
- Added emission maps for the mechs in the loadout screen.
- Bullet casings for certain player weapons.
- Depth of field effect added to various levels.
- Depth of field added as a display option.
- Texture quality removed as a display option as it was not working as intended.
- Changed starting screen and main menu graphics.
- Changed anti-aliasing technique from multisampling to supersampling.
- Changed Blue Falcon distortion tech missile trails.
- New projectile and trail visuals.
UI
- Added difficulty preset selector when starting a new campaign.
- Changed how the difficulty preset customization screen is accessed.
- Improved difficulty preset naming on keyboard.
- Scores are displayed for total level score and score in current stage.(Campaign only)
- Stage progress bar. (Campaign only)
- Achievement indicator on Mission Briefing screen to show which achievements are still available for that particular playthrough.
- Added UI animations to various screens.
- Improved menu button prompts.
- Revised Loadout menu UI and environment.
- Revised Campaign selection menu.
- Added an indicator for the player who currently has the most score.
- Player HUD now actually shows the correct max health/shield.
- Added a warning before boss fights.
Misc
- Major performance improvements. The game is now playable on the weakest laptop in the office and boy is that a slow laptop!
- Updated the credits screen.
- Achievement Stardust Galaxy Customs now triggers when you play a campaign level or a gauntlet round with a custom difficulty preset instead of when creating a preset.
- Achievement Totally Not Random is now even more not random than it used to be. Now you can also track its progress.
- Adjusted achievement Diversity to require also the use of Amber Fox. You shouldnt lose the achievement if you already have it unlocked.
- Updated the engine to Unity version 5.3.5.
- Improved handling of added and removed controllers.
- Added a limit of 20 saved campaigns.
Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue where some users got stuck in certain levels with no enemies on screen due to enemy wave spawning not working properly.
- Fixed an issue with the boss of Abyssal Wreck crashing the game if a player shot at it with a specific combo of Custom Upgrades.
- Fixed issues where boss behaviours could cause unreliable behaviour or crashing.
- Fixed an issue where players could still keep firing even after being incapacitated.
- Fixed an issue where it was possible to change gauntlet level or challenge even after selecting it.
- Fixed an issue where players could get wrong weapons after dying or restarting the stage/game.
- Fixed an issue where gun models could be different than the selected gun in the Loadout menu.
- Fixed issues where some upgrades wouldnt show in the shop after buying certain other upgrades.
- Fixed an issue where Galaxy Invaders boss could disappear too soon.
- Tons of other small bug fixes. Every single major issue caught by the QA or our players has been fixed. Most of the minor ones have, too, apart from ones that are now features, or minor and rare enough to be a non-issues.

A hotfix for v1.1.1 to address a couple of issues has been released. We've had to disable 'Texture Quality' display setting for now as changing it was causing major rendering issues. The setting defaults to 'High'. We also recommend using your display's native resolution for now if you are using fullscreen mode. Changing fullscreen resolution away from native resolution *might* break UI scaling on some systems. Windowed mode seems to always scale properly. These issues are because of a recent engine update we, in hindsight, should not have done. We'll release an update once these issues are resolved on Unity's end. We are sorry for the inconvenience! ːsteamsadː

We have tested it on 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04 with Intel and Nvidia hardware (with Nvidia proprietary drivers) and it has worked as well as the other versions bar a few graphical glitches. If you encounter issues with the version, please let us know in the discussion area and we'll try to figure out what might be causing them.

So, we accidentally published our Linux Beta Build with the updates yesterday. Oopsie! Good news: It works!! Bad news: We don't have the minimum or recommended System Requirements out and checked yet, plus there might be some bugs we still haven't encountered. Please let us know if you notice anything strange going on! We'll be polishing and updating the Linux build along with adding recommendations within a few days, and hopefully everyone will be able to get the best experience out of the Linux version during the weekend! ːsteamhappyː -Vasara

If your game crashes on startup and you use Avast, there are a couple of things you could do to fix this:
1. Make an exception to Avast allowing Stardust Galaxy Warriors to run.
- Open Avast control panel
- Select Settings > Exeptions
- Browse to the SGW install folder ("YourSteamPath"SteamAppscommonStardust Galaxy Warriors*)
- Press Add
2. If the first one does not work for some reason, this should work:
Disable Avast for a short period of time and launch the game during that time. You can then enable Avast again after the game has launched and the game should work.
If you cannot get it to work with these two steps please check out our support forums here http://vasaraentertainment.com/forums/forum/stardust-galaxy-warriors/support/ and/or send a message to support[at]stardustgalaxywarriors[dot]com.
