Hello all! Another week and another set of fixes! Appreciate all the help everyone is giving in Discord to find all the bugs and suggest improvements! You all are the best! steamhappy
v1.7.002 Release Notes
- Fixed issues with the confirmation overlay on tower build buttons.
- Add confirmation to the tower sell button.
- Implemented confirmation settings in Options for sell/build/upgrade (build+upgrade share a setting).
- Potential Fix for Sappers hitting the core unintentionally. They should only collide with cores if there are no towers they can attach to.
- Tweaked rocket projectile rotation - looks better and nerfs accuracy (more changes to come).
- Extended Tower Stats Panel to include unique icons for Credits/Buffs to better display Banker and Buffer towers.
- Enemy shields and core spawn selection now part of the procedural wave system. Now waves should be identical between playthroughs.
- Fixed bug where Profile could be displayed in the Game scene after viewing the Encyclopedia.
- Increased Sword damage by 50% (200->300 damage).
- Added Mutation into the game (similar but different to the system from 1.6 and earlier):
- Increases enemy base health dependent on difficulty and wave count.
- Normal: After Wave 25 enemy health will increase by 1% per wave.
- Hard: After Wave 50 enemy health will increase by 2% per wave.
- Nightmare: Mutation is always active and increase enemy health by 3% per wave.
- Added icon that appears in the Game scene once Mutation becomes active and displays the current modifier.
Fixing Saves from 1.7.000
- Navigate to the Steam install folder (ex: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Geometry Defense Infinite\)
- Depending on the platform you may see something different. On Windows 64-bit you will now see two data folders:
- GeometryDefense_Data <- old data
- GeometryDefense_x64_Data <- new data
- In the old data folder the saves will be found in the "saves" folder with structure like:
- saves
- Profile Name <- folder ex: "Zebec Games"
- player.save <- the save file has a generic name
- Profile Name <- folder ex: "Zebec Games"
- saves
- In the new data folder (GeometryDefense_x64_Data) you will see (or need to create if it doesn't exist):
- savesDir <- move the player.save filer to here and rename it to the profile name (ex: Zebec Games.save)
Hello all! Pushed a quick fix with some critical fixes. Unfortunately, due to changes to the save structure saves will be lost. Follow the instructions at the end of the article to attempt to recover your save. Special shout out to those in Discord helping to test and find all the bugs: Kasen, Sgt. Badass, kivalier, vic32768, and others! Thank you! steamthumbsup

First off - It's been a while and I am glad you are here and still holding out! I think 2024 will be the year this thing finally goes live. I appreciate all the support you've given me over the years. Thank you all!

- If you haven't noticed Geometry Defense is participating in Tower Defense Fest and is on sale!
-
While it is recommended to wishlist the game until it is ready... the base price of the game will be increasing in the near future in anticipation of the exit from Early Access.
- Current expectations are to get 1.7 out of alpha and Geometry Defense as a whole out of Early Access in Q3 of this year - if not before 2025.
[expand type=details expanded=false]
- A bit rough around the edges and a true ALPHA the current 1.7 build has been uploaded to the "beta" branch!
- To participate: [olist]
- Right-click and select Properties on the game in your Steam Library
- Go to the Betas tab
- Switch from "None" to "alpha1.7.000 - alpha 1.7.000"[/olist]
- Below you can find a rough plan for how this alpha will be approached.
- There are many more details and changes along the way than what is captured here but these are the headlines.
- Future plans are best intentions and highly dependent on the success of 1.7 and overall motivation to develop the game further.

Quick Update
Hi everyone! Not sure if anyone is still around but I want to give an update on what's going on with the game. Where have I been? Well the short of it is that I have been MIA for some time but now I am back. The slightly longer answer is that I was only able to give my games focus before since I was working on them full-time. The last 1.5yrs I have been working a normal job and dealing with other life events. I have never given up on this game though. The goal is to see a complete Geometry Defense launch before the end of 2020. The first step towards that goal is update 1.7 coming November - this will end up being one of the biggest updates ever to the game. Things you'll see in 1.7:
- 2 new enemy types.
- 2 new bosses.
- 2 new towers.
- All new animations.
- Enhanced effects.
- Unlockable Endless mode options.
- Procedural map generator.
- Procedurally generated Campaign maps with new "mini-boss" mechanic.
- Completely re-balanced game.
Summary
- I am back!
- 1.7 in November
- Exiting EA before 2021
- Roadmap: https://trello.com/b/RSkyY1as/geometry-defense
- Discord for all the stuff: https://discord.gg/3cptFMB
Stay tuned! Thanks everyone!
Hello all!
The main highlight of this patch are tweaks to the save system to avoid data loss. Keep in mind that the game has a single save file that is automatically updated. If you do not exit the game via the main menu you will risk losing progress. This patch now syncs the progress with the save system more often but if the game is closed unexpectedly some progress will be lost.
I haven't been very active lately but I am working on balancing my time better to ensure a regular cycle of updates.
Highlights
- Fixed progress loss bug. NOTE: Data loss is still possible if you exit the game using ALT+F4 or by killing the task. The risk has been mitigated with this patch significantly.
- New and improved bloom technique.
- Removed machine translated languages.
- Fixed bug in secondary damage for Cannon and Rocket Towers.
- Minor fixes and tweaks.
Known Issues
- Mac/Linux does not clear the enemy path. Once enabled it stays on until restart. Can no longer reproduce - anyone still seeing this?
- Enabling the path when the build menu up will also cause it to become stuck in an enabled state.
- Using Fullscreen can have issues when ALT+TAB is used. Typically the resolution will become messed up. This seems to be an engine issue but I am looking for a fix.
- Sword ability still not usable via hotkey.
Next Update Focus
- Key re-mapping and option menu enhancements.
- Build menu revamp.
On the Horizon
- Sandbox mode/options for Endless mode.
- Campaign overhaul.
- New enemies and towers.
Hello all! Today marks the drop of the first Steam Early Access patch, v1.6.006. There have been many tweaks to enhance the usability on PC, Mac, and Linux. Take a look below!
Highlights
- New menu effects for mouse overs.
- Fixed various text inconsistencies (tap-> click). I realized I overlooked some instances and will get them in the next update.
- New hotkeys [olist]
- Left Shift to enable speed up.
- Left CTRL for showing the enemy path.
- Space to Start Waves.
- Escape for Pause/Unpause and backing out of some menus.
- Q, W, E, A, S, D for controlling tower building.
- Arrows can be used to navigate build-able tiles. [/olist]
- Enemy path overlay and 2x speed buttons can now be toggled.
- Improved the overall looked of the options menu and fixed numerous resolution issues. NOTE: The game can no longer be scaled in Windowed mode.
- Saved game data is now exported to "GeometryDefenseSave.dat" which is located in "%USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalLowebec GamesGeometry Defense" on Windows.

Hello all! Thank you for showing interest in my game. It has been a long road but I am glad to finally bring the game to PC via Steam. Geometry Defense has had a rocky life on mobile platforms (Android and iOS) and I have learned a lot along the way. I hope this is will be my most successful launch. I want to make it clear that the game will be B2P on PC and does not and will not contain any DLC or micro-transactions. It will be launching with a 40% discount and the EA price will be 50% of the full launch price. Unless you get the game for free, it is unlikely to ever be cheaper. I also want to take a moment to make it clear that I am a solo developer who has spent a tremendous amount of money and effort to make this game. I have only recovered less than 1% of the cost to develop it. It is because of this that I have been looking to rejoin the corporate workplace. So if you see the game being shared for free or a modded mobile version please consider buying it if you enjoy your experience. Sharing the game with your friends, reviewing it, or streaming it also goes a long way in helping to bring some visibility which can make a big difference. Finally, while I cannot focus on my products as much as I like anymore. I intend to support them until completion and I am making my best efforts to do so in a timely fashion. I live on feedback from users to know what bugs may be out there and experiences that are not ideal. You can always email me at feedback@zebecgames.com, post on the Steam discussion, or ideally on the r/GeometryDefense sub-reddit. This was a much longer post than I thought so in true reddit fashion here is the tldr (too long didn't read): 1. Launching July 6th - please wishlist! 2. Please don't pirate - I can't survive. 3. Share with your friends! 4. Give me feedback! Wishlist Here! Thank you all! Jacob
