UPDATE 1.4 "BEAMUP"

Hello dear Moss people,

It's been quite a while since our last announcement, but rest assured, we have not been sitting around with our hands folded. We do have some pretty intresting things going on behind strictly closed courtains (wink-wink).
Among the other, supersecret things, we've been also working on Moss Destruction. Lots of you've been reaching out and told us what you did or did not like about the game. We are here and we heard you, so here's whats new in

UPDATE 1.4 "BEAMUP"

  • Solved the issues of the reported softlock situations, where the exit portal sometimes was unreachable

  • Solved the issue of reported freezings and crashes on load screen.

  • Solved the issue of texts and graphics sometimes not filling the screen properly

  • Cleaned out enemies from the shop

  • HUD got rescaled, to provide a more fitting view

  • Some improvements were made on visuals to pass on crucial information in a clearer way - like the damage on the miniboss Hypershield Worm's shield

  • Leaving through the exit portal now has a long planned beam-up effect

  • As we got lots of reports about stability issues, we generally improved and optimized the game

If you ever encounter an unpleasant issue in the game, please reach out here on the dedicated thread, via contact@shotgunwithglitters, on out Discord server here: http://shotgunwithglitters.com/discord or on facebook before giving Moss Destruction a thumbs down! It is most likely that we can solve the problem at hand, however, we are a small, indie team and as for such, it does take some time on our side to get there. As we gain credibility by how people rate our games here, this means a lot to us. We are willing to correct all our errors and mistakes and thus are grateful if you let us know about them.

Thanks you for all the support you guys are giving us, keep being awesome and stay tuned for more!

    Cheers,
    The SwG Team

    Hullow dear people!

Holy slime-puddle, what a month this has been! We will try and get you through all that was and will be!

You can find our retro stylised, 3D horror adventure game on Steam under the link:

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/747650/The_Padre/

Another reason behind our delight is the blast we had at Reboot Develop Blue 2019 in Dubrovnik - an awesome indie scene with a wonderful and supportive community, inspiring speeches from the aces of the industry, a terrific experience altogether. Check out the official recap video of the event here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7bOAEEyCfI

Moss Destruction had its own booth to exhibit for the people of the conference

We learned a lot from the engaging speeches and instructive feedback from fellow developers and attendees, knowledge that let us further improve Moss Destruction.

Based on the feedback at the conference and the reports you sent us, we put together an update, live now. Here's the log for

    UPDATE 1.3 "GLAM"

  • Visual mech mods now available! Upgrade your mech in style with these flashy, new babies, all true to the current Mossorian battle fashion trends. Glam! (You can find and buy them for krysol in the character selection screen).
  • Introducing: 3 new fierce minibosses to encounter in the Dreary Desert world. Be on the lookout for them and go prepared! Who is your favourite?
  • As asked for: the 2 unlockable characters now have their own special skills, making them truly different to play.
  • As asked for: the shotgun is no longer OP.
  • Pickup items are now better distinguishable throughout the game.
  • We adjusted the brightness and lights in the Dark Moon Magic world so that visuals there now are easier to read.
  • Damage booster orbs have a new, killer screen effect.
  • Initial weapons will no longer spawn accidentally into walls in the first Dark Moon Magic level.
  • Mossacre and Engineer Moss achievements should be working fine now.
  • All-around performance improvements for smoother gaming experience.

    UPDATE 1.2 "WORLDS APART"

    Greetings Moss Folks!

Lots of news here once again. We've made major mods on Moss Destruction, some of them you'll see right away after starting the game! ;) What else has happened? Let's have a look at

    UPDATE 1.2 "WORLDS APART"

Check out the new world map of Moss Destruction

  • Introducing: the scenario mode. To answer the call of many players saying that the game is too tough for a single run, we have divided the 3 worlds into 3 scenarios. You can now finish them separately if you prefer, or if you only have time for a shorter run at a given time. Once you finish a world, the next one will be unlocked and available to start from in the future. Finishing a strikingly successful run in the Dreary Desert and having installed your fav mech techs, you might not want to stop a perfect winning streak. That is perfectly fine and you have the option to venture on into the next world nevertheless with whatever loadout you got this far. If you decide to start from a further world, you'll also find some helpful gear upon spawning into the first level there. We also know that some of you live (and die??) for the sheer thrill of Moss McLeaning your way through all the 3 worlds in a single run and possibly even dive into further loops too. For you we have maintained an Endless mode, available once you have unlocked all the 3 worlds in the scenario mode.
  • 6 new, wild alien techs are now available to find. We also updated the random system of these in order to get a fair run each time.
  • Previously known alien techs are now easier to recognise with a small icon signaling their functions.
  • Moss Destruction now has Steam Cloud Integrity, so that your progress won't be lost with an uninstall.
  • The crosshair got smaller, as asked for.
  • We got rid of the enemies spawning into walls.
  • 'Oh, I see you kids met!' achievement can be obtained once again.
  • Fixed the cloaking field gen.

We greatly appreciate your help and support in developing Moss Destruction and as always, remember to keep sending your comments and suggestions in the dedicated Steam threads or send them to contact@shotgunwithglitters.com or join the community in out Discord server here: http://shotgunwithglitters.com/discord

    Keep on being awesome!

    Update 1.1 Illuminate

    Hey Moss Folks!

We're back again with the first major update since the full release of Moss Destruction. We had a blast in the last month. All the anticipation, the excitement, all the tension building up to the big day when we finally celebrated version 1.0. We received tons of feedback. We got the nicest words and friendly slappings on our backs. We also had our share of the cruel reality of being faced with the flaws and errors we made in the game so far. All in all we are truly happy about the initial reception of the game. We payed close attention to both the warm and the cold, learned what we could from them and are back at the drawing board once again with newborn effort to make Moss Destruction even better.

With the annoying crashing issue finally out of the way thanks to the hotfix last week, let's see what we have in

    Update 1.1 Illuminate

We have the joy to announce that we've been contacted by SteelSeries and have implementated their GameSense lighting in Moss Destruction! With the in-game integration you can now enjoy trigger reactive illumination, tactile alerts, and OLED messages on your supported SteelSeries devices! You can find more info on the tech here:

    https://steelseries.com/engine/apps

  • Performance improvement: you'll most likely feel the difference when playing, the game just got a whole lot smoother, with shorter loading times and a loading screen to spend the remaining short time enjoying precious gameart nevertheless.
  • Mouse aiming got smoothed out: as we received some comments about clanky handling of the crosshair, we reevaluated the controls - aiming with the controller also got improved upon.
  • Allowing for community wishes, the fog is now dissolving in a wider area around the player
  • Also as asked for, pushing down the sticks of the controller won't result in displaying the default in-game controls layout anymore.
  • Supply Drop will now also display the current health of the player prior to installing on the mech-tech screen.
  • The icons of installed mech-techs won't block the lower left corner of the screen anymore, instead they got a new place on the loading screen before entering a level.
  • Melee kills won't block loot drops anymore.
  • The Force Screen will not block the way of the Mr Beam now, neither will it block the laser sight of the Sniper. Enemies on the other side of the screen will not act now as if the player simply vanished from before their eyes. Or sensors. And tentacles.
  • Mr Beam cannot keep firing anymore if out of ammo.
  • Hazardous puddles will properly damage the player upon first entry.
  • The random drop of weapon crates got a fix, as it used to have the bad habit of dropping quite the same weapons in certain levels.
  • The Bomb Bot just finished its 'Dealing Damage Deliberately' extensional course, as in the past it sometimes seemed to forget about its number one duty of having the player's life turn into the player's death.

The co-op mode is still in the forge, but the next major update will first comply with another community wish. Namely the game being to hard for one single run. To answer the call, we are going to split the worlds up into 3 separate scenarios and once unlocked, will make them available for runs on their own. For those of you worried that this might spoil your insane level of difficulty, we are still planning to have the option of completing the game in a single run as it is now, but will call that option the 'Endless mode' in future versions.

Look at this lad! Mosses is excited with joy about the initial reception of Moss Destruction! And if he is happy, we are happy!

Thanks for all the positive and kind words, the gameplay vids and coverage! We couldn't be more thrilled to go on with the game! Stay tuned for a hotfix soon, fixing some crashing issues and the next Moss milestone later: the local co-op mode!

    The SwG Team

    UPDATE 0.9 "DARK INBOUND"

    Hello Moss Folks!

An unreal amount of time passed since our last public update. Nevertheless we can assure you that the time was worth all the waiting and pretty soon we'll be ready to introduce a the most thrilling world yet to complete the Moss adventure. But let's first take a look at what's new in the existing worlds.

    UPDATE 0.9 "DARK INBOUND"

  • A new weapon enters the arsenal: the Scorcher. A special weapon that will create a devastating aura around the mech, burning up enemies with a great deal of damage inside over time. Because of the uncontrollable heat, the player will also suffer 1 damage with each use. The blazing aura will last for 5 seconds, it does not however protect the player from incoming damage.
  • Because the community asked for this modification, the use of the exit portal now requires a confirmation.
  • As a long asked for option, the keyboard and mouse controls can now be remapped.
  • Also as asked for: options can now be changed under the in-game pause menu too.
  • No more empty mech tech screen! We added some further mech techs that will stick once you installed all the others. Will you see them all?
  • Stronger now: beware that the desert boss' projectiles won't dissolve now over distances and it just got a whole lot harder to juggle your way around them unharmed. The Severe Serpent also got more agile and viscous in the Blu.
  • Bosses received a lifebar so that you can now easily follow up on the carnage you're causing them.
  • Players with controllers will now be able to go back to previous menus in the game by simply pressing the B/ circle button
  • An option is granted now in the options menu to reset all tutorial texts.
  • Stats 2.0: as lots of you reported several problems with the stats system, we reworked the whole thing from bottom to top, hopefully providing now a much more reliable mass of data. Oh, and your highest combo ever is now getting displayed in your stats! The race is on!
  • Mosses and Don Grandmoss got their own models in their mechs now. How cool is that?
  • The content of weapon loot boxes got rearranged, providing now a richer looting experience.
  • The Poing gun got its well deserved own model and icon.
  • At long last, we found the cause and got rid of the bug where some guns would randomly stop doing damage until the weapons got switched. Once again, this was solved with the help of the community! Cheers!
  • The minimap now stays up to date with the enemies already slaughtered when the effect of the spyglass is active.
  • Fixed the issue where you could easily miss the Beamhead of the Blu by firing over its head.
  • Convenience issues: fixed the one where switching from Dr Gizmoss at the character selection screen would render the Stork's extra cartridge slot empty.
  • Corrected the typos you guys told us about in tutorials and descriptions. Tahnk you!
  • Added a credits screen! :)

Once more, thanks for all the support and feedback you guys give us! You rock!
Have something to say to us? Send your opinions, reports and comments in the dedicated Steam threads or send them to
    contact@shotgunwithglitters.com

The time is critically near to unleash the full Moss experience. With the darkness spreading and a bad moon rising, the coming of the third episode overshadows the yet obscure future of all Mossorians. Prepare for the mystical elements of

    DARK MOON MAGIC

Please note that with the conclusive world introduced, Moss Destruction will soon leave early access stage. With the full release will come tons of content, new weapons, new achievements and more! Make sure to grab the game for a more than fair price while still in early access as the price will take a moderate leap with the full release in correspondence with new and crispy content.

See you guys next time with the full release of Moss Destruction!

    Cheers,

    An overexcited SwG Team

    UPDATE 0.8 "HOT"

    Hey Everyone!

Let us start by welcoming all the new players to the Moss family, nice to have you here! :)

For those who don't know yet, we at the Shotgun with Glitters team keep updating and patching up Moss Destruction in accordance with constant player feedback and suggestions on a fairly regular basis. Your opinions and recommendations are always welcome! With that said, let's see whats new in

    UPDATE 0.8 "HOT"

  • With this update enters a new weapon: the Lava Gun! Fend off your enemies by creating massive blockades of lava traps around you, or use its blast effect against smaller groups of enemies approaching in a tighter bunch, also applying burn damage. Beware though that the lava puddles left behind can just as well hurt you! Not feeling secure? Equip the B.O.O.T.S. mech tech to protect yourself from all kinds of hazardous puddles.
  • We're through with a major balancing of the Blu Wilderness. All the foes got reevaluated and tweaked on. Some got stronger, others had to take back on the juice, firing methods, behaviours were changed, hopefully all adding up to a more coherent overall feeling while fighting in the jungles. Did it work? You tell us!
  • We hear you! As some of you already asked for, your Krysol counter is now displayed at the beginning of levels and close to the shop portal.
  • The fog in the shop got dissolved.
  • Some cartridge prices were changed for more affordable upgrading patterns.
  • Got rid of the oh-so-annoying constant buzzing sound of the laser sights of Sniper Guards adding up in a level.
  • Your PET could easily block your movement inside tight fort walls. Kicking it around, cursing and yelling, usually the next thing you knew was that you had swallowed a rocket from a Zuka Guard. We got rid of that and the PET will no longer get in your way.
  • Enemies in forts will no longer be able to cause damage through walls.
  • Solved the issue where the shop prices were blocked by the environment.
  • Fixed the issue where the Spyglass picked up wouldn't hold out for the whole run.

We could say that this is all, but... the the evil that we warned you about last time... It is creeping up our way, getting closer by the minute.....

Again, thanks for all the support and feedback you guys give us! You are awesome!

    UPDATE 0.7.5 "CERBERUS"

    Hullow Everyone!

Have you all wrapped up the Blu Wilderness yet? You'd better, as more content is on the way with

    UPDATE 0.7.5 "CERBERUS"

  • Harvested tons of Krysol during the holiday season? Cool thinking! You'll need a smaller fortune to buy the 3 new cartridges hitting the shop: upgrade your faithful PET to PET II - mounted with a bolter gun, split it up into 3 with the Cerberus active cartridge and get temporary buffs when collecting Krysol with the Supersolic passive cartridge.
  • Grab an achievement for slaying the almighty boss of the Blu, the Severe Serpent.
  • We had the PET follow up more closely in your steps, even after gaining speed bonuses. Poor fellow surely won't get lost now.
  • Wiped out those pesky white squares on the victory screen in place of the installed mech tech
  • Fixed the issue where the game and its sound would go on even in the background at the death screen.
  • Fixed the issue of the transparent alien tech shards in the inventory.
  • You got back your button hints in the shop now, that were lost for a while.
  • We also did some visual improvements here.
  • Weapon barrels won't poke through fort walls now.
  • The Beam-head used to leave its beam behind after dying. Not anymore.
  • Further itsy-bitsy visual improvements here and there.

But. This is not all that we've been working on. Something. Dark. Is. Coming.

    Soon.

Again, thanks for all the support and feedback you guys give us!

    UPDATE 0.7 "MINI-ME"

    Hello Everyone!

Hope you are doing well after the Holidays! As for the team, we're all freshened up and in to tackle the various challenges the new year has in store for us! Without further ado, we jumped straight back into action to extend your all-time-fav Moss experience. Speaking of the effort, please welcome

    UPDATE 0.7 "MINI-ME"

  • Beware the MiniBosses! New enemies might emerge in all the levels: you'll now get a pretty good chance at running into a boosted-up version of some previously familiar enemies who will try to give your day the extra frustration it never needed. Please welcome them with smoking hot barrels.
  • A new Mech Tech for the dark ones: The Twilight Knight.
In for some serious challenge in aim? get the "Shashlik!" achievement now! Skillshot!!
  • The desert Boss Worm got some fierce henchmen. They protek and atak.
  • The PET is doing proper damage to the enemy again. It's good with kids and kitties though.
  • Cartridge descriptions are back in the shops! No more pig-in-a-poke shopping.
  • Fixed the issue where your controller would vibrate even if you played with keyboard + mouse
  • Portal descriptions will now appear prior to stepping into them - making a whole lot more sense this time...
  • We made some balancing on the Blu. Among others, Guards will not dance around as much as before, going straight for the kill. The Pigball got faster, while the Tortle slooowed down. The Mortar Mantis made up its mind to attack the player after all and the Hoof-Beak is through with some self-confidence issues therapy too. Some projectiles fired at the player are faster and and the Fire-Claw grew up to the task of being more than just a tame pussy cat. You've been warned.
  • Revised some of the more misleading tutorial texts.
  • Fixed some nasty typos here and threr there.

Once more, we would like to thank you all for your support and the reports you sent us, a great help in shaping the game!

Keep sending your reports and comments in the dedicated Steam threads or to

    UPDATE 0.6 "XMOSS SPECIAL"

    HO-HO-HO to you, Moss Folks!

It's that special time of the year again! The sweet smell of Christmas Stollen is filling up the air of warm and cozy homes, families are huddled together on sofas to pass on the controller to play Moss Destruction while the snow is gently falling outside, Kevin is screaming in front of the mirror and the Nakatomi Plaza is on fire. Because of the special event we also wanted to give you a special, major update, so please accept

    UPDATE 0.6 "XMOSS SPECIAL"

  • Explore and enjoy the full world of the Blu Wilderness! Complete with 15 unique enemies and a terrifying boss, this world is sure to give you a challenge for the Holidays!
  • With the new world, new Mech Tech also had to follow: We give you 9 new Mech Techs and a level II upgrade for Last Stand.

  • We fixed the issue where the dissolving Camo Bug body could still block the players way.
  • Took out the non-existing 'laser gun' item that was dropped sometimes in the previous build.
  • An exit portal was put into the Blu shop, so that you won't get stuck there anymore.
  • The Bomb Bot got back its rightful VFX, going out with a proper BOOM now.
  • The shotgun used to have a slight miscalibration in its aim. Got rid of that.
  • Fixed the issue where the tutorial texts for portals came up only when entering, causing some future disturbances in the following level.
  • Gave back the Sawblade its previous glory, after it suffered some loss in strength.
  • The invisible collider in gates is now gone.

Thank you once again for all of you who helped us reach today's milestone!

We hope that you will have tons of fun with the new features of the game too! Please keep in mind that as this is the first real debut of the new world and enemies, you will most likely run into some bugs and errors at this point. Make sure to

let us know about these on the dedicated Steam thread or via contact@shotgunwithglitters.com

    We appreciate your opinion!

The Shotgun Team will now take some time off for a well earned rest to refill on depleted energies and will respawn fully charged next year.

As we are about to close an awesome year, full of excitements, we would like to take the opportunity to thank you and wish you all a Merry Xmoss and a Happy New Year! :)

    UPDATE 0.5 "BLU"

    Hello Moss Folks!

We have great news coming back to you this week and boy, are we thrilled to share it! Ladies and not ladies, the update we've all been long looking forward to is here:

    UPDATE 0.5 "BLU"

  • Introducing: The Blu Wilderness! The whole new world of Moss Destruction is now open! The first playable level of this exotic chaos of a twisted jungle awaits you with a unique design, fresh layouts, new enemies and brand new challenges. You will be entered the first level of the Blu Wilderness right after finishing off the Dreary Desert.
  • A new Mech Tech Card enters the game. Introducing the Executioner Armor: this baby will generate bullet type ammo for you for the price of cutting down 1 HP from your maximum health. To get it shuffled into your Mech Tech stack, you'll first have to buy it in the shop.
  • 3 new achievements for you to collect, be on the lookout for Flint Mosswood, A Fruitful Comeback and Mossleone.
  • We restructured the way your installed Mech Tech icons appear in the lower left corner of the HUD. You'll now find numbers indicating the time a stackable Mech Tech was installed and the current level of the upgrade, where applicable.
  • Corrected some squashed visuals on the Rainfire Coating icon in the shop.
  • Fixed the issue of the invisible Stork that many of you reported

Once again, thank you all for being a part of what we build here and forming an awesome community!

With the introduction of the Blu Wilderness, Moss Destruction is stepping up a whole new level now and we are excited as ever about your opinions.
Make sure to tell us what you think! Let us know what you like and dislike about the new world! Please keep in mind that so far we put only the first level of the Blu into the game and that many more is yet to come. We are currently at work on the other creatures that will appear on further levels of the Wilderness, new weaponry and of course with higher reachable ranks, we also have to provide you new Mech Tech options to install. Still we wanted to give you a taste of and get your opinions on the new world as early as possible.

    UPDATE 0.4.5 "GREEN"

    Hey there Moss Folks!

As the weather outside is getting chilling to the rhizoid, what better way to pass time than staying inside for the weekend, snuggling in a warm blanky with a hot cup of wuddaver-ye-like and having a couple of runs in the brand new build of Moss Destruction with

    UPDATE 0.4.5 "GREEN"

  • 2 new cartridges enter the game to have you spend all your hard earned Krysol in a couple of clicks. Look for the Xray Spyglass (global) and Chloroplast Suit (mech tech) cartridges in the shop - the former will have Spyglasses picked up also reveal the location of important portals and objects on the minimap, while the latter is a new and shiny healing armor, smelling like photosynthesis.
  • Dealt with the frozen PET. The poor soul just met some of the new Blu enemies during testings and got a bit shocked, He's alright now though and will happily hop along with you.
  • We realized that the Mossgyver cartridge had a double in the shop, so we removed that.
  • Switched the wrong tutorial texts back to the corresponding one for the new mech tech upgrade card in the shop.

As you can see, we are not quite at the Blu yet, but rapidly getting there on the color wheel now. The short list of the update is merely a product of us getting ready to let you into the new world pretty soon, we're putting most of our time into this nowadays.

Thank you for all your support and comments! keep them coming in the dedicated Steam threads, or send them to contact@shotgunwithglitters.com

    UPDATE 0.4.4 "RAINFIRE"

    What's up Moss Folks!

We're back with another weekly update for you! Many minor and major fixes had taken up our full attention but we could still manage to squeeze in some yummy content too. Here's what we're having in

    UPDATE 0.4.4 "Rainfire"

    • A new Mech Tech Upgrade enters the shop: the Rainfire Coating. Mech Tech Upgrade Cards improve the effect of corresponding Mech Techs. When purchased, the Rainfire Coating upgrades the Demo Master Mech Tech, which in turn grants protection from self damage by explosives, when installed.

    • Fixed the problem of the broken kill counters, in-game Stats and relevant achievements will now continue to keep track of the slaughter.

    • In connection with the counters, the issue of accuracy also got fixed, Stats will now accurately measure it and thus the Impressive Shooting! achievement is now obtainable.

    • We got rid of the issue with the 9x Combo achievement, it's up for the taking!

    • You'll also be able to get the Mossacre achievement now.

    • The hint to pick up an item will now only appear once the item can indeed be picked up.

    • Fixed the Cloaking Field Gen, so that it won't render the mechs totally invisible.

    • Corrected the typo in the Mossacre description

We are incredibly lucky to have a steady and firm player community forming around Moss Destruction, and we want you to know that we couldn't be happier to have you. We receive lots and lots of responses, bug reports and suggestions from you, helping us push ever forward to make the game better, thank you, you ROCK!

    UPDATE 0.4.2 "Adapt"

    Hullow Moss Folks!

Exciting times went by here at the Moss HQ, as we received tons of feedback from you guys and we are immensely grateful for these, thank you! Based on what you had to say we can now present you

    UPDATE 0.4.2 "Adapt"

  • 3 new achievements for you to unlock!
  • You can easily jump between heroes on the hero selection screen using the trigger buttons of your controller
  • The names and descriptions of cartridges are now displayed on the selection screen and in the shop as well
  • We had the exit portals suck the player in only from a closer distance now, granting a safe passage next to them even in narrower places
  • Hitting the Revenge button after dying, the game will now also remember your latest setup when bringing you back to the hero selection screen
  • We introduced a damage cooldown on the player side, meaning that the player will not get butchered by several successive incoming hits in a split second.
  • Dr Gizmoss now starts with the extra passive slot that the description was mentioning
  • The "Shy Boss" phenomenon where the boss tended to just not appear on the last level has now been eliminated.
  • We put an end to the Krysol farming after sunsets, where you could easily just stand in one end of a corridor and waste all the enemies up ahead spraying with the minigun
  • Alien Techs now have an outlined name so that they can be read clearly above the fog too
  • Sorted out the matter with the Protein Pus Alien Tech that gave you exxxtra HP in the next level too
  • Brought back the Energy+ Module Alien Tech that was lost on the way somehow
  • Fixed the Alien Techs where their functions would remain unknown in a run even after having been used already
  • Also sorted out the right maximum HP caps for each hero
  • Fixed the bug where you could get the "SPEEEED" and "Right Back at You!" achievements for other reasons than stated in the description
  • You can now also unlock the previously buggy "Oh, I see you kids met!" achievement
  • Fixed the bug where the Improved Targeting System sometimes caused the Nuke-Em weapon to do the weirdest things physics has ever seen
  • Dealt with the issue where the Backup Disk and Last Chance sometimes didn't have their life saving effects
  • The Mr Beam will not damage the player now when firing
  • Dozens of minor bugfixes to make the game flow smoother

Meanwhile, with the time to introduce the Blu Wilderness creeping ever forward, we officially closed the voting on the Worthy Foe 2 Reward on BrightLocker. According to the Moss community and thus the ramming enemy to appear in the new lands is going to be:

    The Hoof-Beak

    UPDATE 0.4.1 "SIGNAL JAMMED"

    What's up Moss Folks,

Wow, crazy couple of weeks passing by for Moss Destruction! After having been on the front page over at our friends at Game Jolt and pushing through a drive with Alienware Arena, we can clearly state that the Shotgun Team has forgotten what the word boredom means. We are happy to welcome a new wave of players in the realms of Mossoria! Along with that, we are truly grateful for all the feedback you guys have given us, you ROCK! It is thanks to your responses that we can now introduce

    UPDATE 0.4.1 "Signal Jammed"

After the huuuuge update of last time, when we introduced the shop feature, it's high time we patched up some issues coming along with it. In the meantime, as you guys eagerly emptied the shelves of the shop in no time, we wouldn't forget to give you more goodies too. You guys are real collectors, you know that?

  • 4 new, nifty Cartridges await your discovery in the shop of the shady merchant, Looga. Grab them. Grab them all!!
  • 3 new achievements enter the picture this time, some calculation may apply to attain them all
  • You'll get a much better idea now about cartridges and their types at the shop, to help you get just what you need.
  • As we have initially forgotten to do so, we have now cleared up the difference between the 2 rows of slots on the character select screen. The upper row stands for the active cartridges, while the lower for the passive ones.
  • The mech won't switch to "auto-fire" now if you pause the game while shooting
  • No more dying with health points still visible on the health bar
  • After dying, hitting the 'Revenge' button will now take you back to the character select screen, as asked for.
  • Fixed the bug where some alien techs picked up already revealed their function in the inventory before first use, while others would simply forget theirs, even after having been used already. Weird.. but hey, it's alien tech after all, huh?
  • Fixed the issue where you were told to press a button to pick up an item aaaaand you wouldn't get the item. Sorry about that..
  • Got rid of the bug where you could easily grab a Minigun + the Fast Clip Chip Mech Tech and just gun your way through enemies like a lawnmower, for the Mech Tech caused the Minigun to eat no bullets at all whatsoever. Admit it, it was fun though, right?
  • Also fixed the bug where you could quite ironically get the "SPEEEED!" achievement by stacking 2 Lead Boots, thus moving with the speed of a beaten snail.
  • The super slow motion of explosive projectiles caused by the installation of the Improved Targeting System Mech Tech you guys reported were also taken care of.

Once again, Thank you for all your support and feedback! We believe that it really starts to show on the directions Moss Destruction is headed that the community is constantly expressing their opinions and thoughts, for this we are grateful and encourage you to keep sending those reports and suggestions to

    contact@shotgunwithglitters.com

Make sure you check out and follow our Facebook page as well!

Keep tuned for more content with every update and soon..SOOOOON... the Blu Wilderness! ;)

    UPDATE 0.4 "IT'S A BARGAIN!"

Introducing with Update 0.4 "It's a Bargain!": The Super Secret Secret Shop!

If lucky and persistent enough, you can now find the portals on levels of Moss Destruction which will teleport you straight to the merchant of exotic wares.

Here you will find 3 items picked randomly from a pool of many. These can be cartridges you can install into your mech to influence the gameplay for your benefits. You can find yellow, Global cartridges, which - once bought - will activate and grant a certain bonus or modification for you in all the runs that follow. You will also find blue Passive and red Active cartridges here. These can be installed into your mech before each run and depending on your choice of selection will change the gameplay accordingly for that run only. Selected Passive cartridges will do their magic on their own, no need to interfere, while selected Active cartridges can be activated by you during the run. These will most likely have a cooldown on them after each use.

Another thing you will find in the shop are new Mech Tech cards and Upgrade cards for existing Mech Tech already in your possession. If bought, these will automatically be shuffled into your mech tech deck from which you can randomly pick from with each new rank in the game.

Last but not least you will find new heroes you can buy at the merchant. Once unlocked, these heroes and their corresponding mechs will be available to pick at the beginning of runs.

Unlock as many of these as you can to find the modifiers and characters that suit your playstyle best!

Collect Krysol scattered around the maps to spend at the shop. You can also get more Krysol from some enemies killed, for completing special actions and combos. Note that while lingering around in levels after sunset is potentially more dangerous, it will also cause enemies to drop Krysol much more frequently! All Krysol you collect throughout runs will stay with you even after death. Keep collecting Krysol to boost your mech and overcome previously difficult challenges more easily next time!

    UPDATE 0.3.4 "DODGE THIS!"

    What's up Guys!

As you can see, we've got a brand new and shiny cover image! You like it? We do. Time seems to be flowing for us here at the SwG HQ, having our hands full with Moss Destructions brand new world, the Blu Wilderness. Nevertheless we still still need to find time to patch up whatever seems to be leaking in the current build (Since when have days become so short??). Anyhows, here's what we got for you in

    Update 0.3.4 "Dodge This!"

  • We made some much needed mods on most of the Mech-techs you can install, providing now a better balanced quarry of choice for you.
  • New achievements enter this time too! It will probably take serious skills to get "Right Back at You!". Can you pull it off?
  • Some refreshment for your eardrums: a remastered desert world track is playing now through your stay.
  • A whole lot of minor bugfixes yet adding up to a major elevation in experience :)

Once again, thank you for your all your support and feedback, it means a lot in this process!

Keep sending those and any other thoughts to contact@shotgunwithglitters.com

Meanwhile, the new world, Blu Wilderness is neatly coming together. Even though it's not yet ready, we put most of our time now into building it and we cannot wait to show you the whole picture! Until that time comes, here's a sneak peek of what we've been up to and what is coming your way really soon:

Don't forget to head over to the rewards section of BrightLocker to help us populate this wilderness! Look for "A Worthy Foe 2" reward!

In hope to keep you thrilled until next time, best,

    UPDATE 0.3.3 "MULTIKILL"

    What's up Folks!

We are back with this weeks update right at you:

    Update 0.3.3 "Multikill":

    • Improved the HUD so that some important information are now clearer and easier to see. For example you will now see the type of ammo your current weapon uses highlighted in your ammo counter.
    • You'll also get a clue about what ammo a new weapon you have found consumes, helping you decide if you want to make a swap. Don't forget: It is wise to carry around guns eating different types of ammo!
    • The Engineer Drone building them nasty turrets is now easier to spot. Stop them as quickly as you can!
    • Don't like the controller vibrating in your hand? That's all right, our mothers didn't like it either, so you can now turn this off in the menu
    • Combo up! Supercool combat stickers will now splash onto your screen in the right moments! Try to go for combo kills and multiple melee kills to name a few of them. But just how does one get a MMULTIKILLLL??
    • 7 new achievements enter the scene! + one hidden achievement - can you trigger it?
    • Hordes of bugfixes we are too embarrassed to detail here

Can you unlock all the achievements? Will you be among the first few who can beat the game at its current stage? Do you have any idea for achievements you would like to see in the game? Don't hesitate to drop us a line to contact@shotgunwithglitters.com

Meanwhile we are hard at work creating the next world of Moss Destruction: the Blu Wilderness, a beautiful but deadly cruel, wild jungle with it's characteristic, primitive, but yet brutally strong creatures.

Now go out there and collect ALL the achievements!

    Cheers,

    The SwG Team

    UPDATE 0.3.2 "H-BLADE"

    Hello dear People!

Here's our very first update since we have hit the shelves on Steam Early Access. Lot's have been going on and we were extremely excited to see how the wider public will accept our baby. It was amazing to see how people liked playing Moss Destruction and the initial responses were truly positive, giving us another boost of enthusiasm to push even harder at shaping the perfect game! Thank you for your trust!

Game development is but never without some errors. In this Update: after having watched a lot of Moss Destruction gameplay videos online we mainly focused on reacting to flaws and shortcomings that came up during these clips. It was massively helpful and instructive for us to see people playing the game for the very first time without knowing anything about it. It gave us a clue about where we need to show some more directions and hints to help the players pick the flow up easily.

And thus, Update 0.3.2 "H-Blade" was born:

  • Some tutorial layouts are now popping up upon first run, explaining the core elements of the gameplay and the ranking system. Power-ups in need of explanation also got a text, so you're not left in the dark anymore. Until sunset that is..
  • Incoming damage of the player is now visibly displayed too
  • Cleared up the much chaotic misunderstanding around the terms used in the game to describe the level of a world you are playing in and the current rank of your mech. And it was about time too.
  • Your current ammo counters are now displayed on the mech tech upgrade screen too if you select the Supply Drop option - to help you decide if you are in need of some extra necessities.
  • The PET is now a much more effective sidekick!
  • Once discovered, the exit portal will now be displayed on your minimap
  • A new mech tech upgrade enters the scene, please welcome the H-Blade: a much more powerful upgrade to your handy melee weapon. Slice-n-dice, baby!
  • Introduced the player shield power-up
  • Solved a bunch of minor issues that needed patching here and there.

We are immensely grateful for all who helped us shaping this update with their feedback, bug reports and gameplay videos, Thank you!

Your thoughts and feedback are always welcome at
    contact@shotgunwithglitters.com

Enjoy and let us know what you think!

This only means you might just have a fighting chance! Let's see what else was on plate for the last few weeks:

  • Repaired the bug where dead Engineer Drones could still install new turrets into play
  • Brilliant new sounds of play, happiness, and intestines falling out. Oh, the joy!
  • Solved the issue where some sound-FX were much louder than the others. Our ears are still ringing from some blasts.

  • Found the lost minimap! It is there now for good
  • Updated the movement pattern of the Roto Node Mech Tech. You might now find it much more useful next to walls or in corners.

  • Introduced some well needed new power-ups to aid you, make sure to find them all!
  • Got rid of the issue of the "zombie mech" where you could still crawl around the map in a semi dead form after being blown up in a blast. It was kind of fun for a while though..

    UPDATE 0.1.0 "VICTORY"

    Hello Everyone!

Once again, with your help - for which we are immensely grateful! - after crazy long hours of work we are thrilled to announce a MAJOR milestone to you:

    Update 0.1.0 "Victory" has cometh!

Wow, aren't we really heading somewhere?! Okay, okay, let's see what we're having:

  • Major gameplay updates: The first 5 levels of the game are now balanced through and through. In each level you can find one crate that will surely grant one of the new weapons belonging to the actual tier. You can either rush through levels and advance as fast as you can, or you might want to hang around a bit to collect all the weaponry you can get. The longer you stay, the higher chance you'll have that an enemy will also drop a weapon. Linger too long and the sun will set, alarming you that enemy reinforcements are inbound. Remember that the risk is getting higher with every extra second you spend in the same place after sunset. You can also use your extra time to level up more in a single level, but you will now find that you can advance a maximum of 2 more levels in the same place.
  • You will now have to face 2 new vicious enemies: the Technician and Commander Bots. Even though these two will not attack you directly, they are capable of calling in multiple reinforcement teams of further bots. They are highly dangerous in greater numbers so make sure you try to eliminate them as soon as sighted.
  • The Gunner Drone has also entered the picture. Similar to the Engineer Drone in movement, but the Gunner Drone will directly attack you with laser cannons equipped.
  • The end is nigh! You can actually finish the game now after the 5th level. Or can you? The task at hand won't be easy! Make sure to use all the advantage you can get along the way. Oh and maybe, JUST MAYBE you will find one last challenge after the 5th level?? We surely wouldn't know of an evil desert boss if there was one. Nnnnope.
  • End stats! Finish the game and check your stats out on the victory screen! Compare your stats with other players!
  • New enemy death animations! You gonna love this..
  • Love to play with fire? Your time has come: The Flamer has been introduced into the game: a very powerful weapon with a short range. You will now also have the chance to significantly improve the usage of this and further other fuel consuming weapons if you pair them up with the also newly introduced Pyro Rig Mech-Tech upgrade. You can find the Flamer in higher levels.
  • Solved the issue of the ammo counter running into negative values
  • HUD layout was updated, new graphical elements were added, for instance you will now see icons indicating the current power-ups in use.
  • TONS of minor bugfixes you wouldn't be interested to read about.

As you can see, a whole new experience awaits you in the game now and we are extremely curious about what you will think!
We would like to shape Moss Destruction the way you can easily get hooked right from the start, but we do not intend to make the battle against evil an easy one! Take your time to get into the game, to get to know new enemy behaviors, shortcuts you can use, power-ups at your disposal, master the skills necessary for the ultimate victory! Develop your tactics, collect top-notch gear, figure out patterns that work out best for you and share them with the community! Maybe you'll have the missing tips to help another player achieve final completion.

Do you have something to say to us? Have you encountered a bug we should know about? Do you think we miscalculated things here and there? Shout out to us! As always, we are positively curious about your experience with the game and all your thoughts about it! Write us to

    contact@shotgunwithglitters.com

Moss Destruction won't stay in its free state for long! Spread the word, ensure your friends grab the game while it's still free for everyone!
Make sure you check out and follow our Facebook page as well!

    To VICTORY!

  • The PET will now follow you instead of dragging behind, trying to win desperate wars.
  • Solved the issue with the always-expending lifebar. No more god-mode for you! I know, I'm sorry..
  • The gates got some smooth looks.
  • Dedicated projectiles will now bounce of walls as if the surfaces were flat. Easier computing for you.
  • We refined the looting system to ensure the drop will help you with the loot you are mostly in need of. The game will now constantly monitor your stats and arrange the loot drop accordingly. Note that some helpful items are now harder to acquire, so keep a firm grasp on them, once you find 'em!

As always, we appreciate you sending us your feedback to contact@shotgunwithglitters.com!

UPDATE 0.0.4 - "KABOOM" LIVE NOW!

Hey Everybody! Loooots of thing happening today! But what could one expect? It's Friday the 13 after all :)

First off: The community has picked their Tentacle of choice: Tentacle 5 emerges from the rest, be prepared to meet the creature you helped bring to life.

Then again: The voting for your fav Xplosive weapon is officially over! And because you guys distributed your love almost evenly among the two weapons, it is only fair to introduce both the Bazooka AND the Grenade Launcher into the game! Thank you for your votes! Meanwhile, head over to the rewards section where you can once again decide what you would first like to see in the game!

And finally: Update 0.0.4 - "Kaboom" i blowing up NOW! Again, thank you for all the feedback and thoughts! You guys really helped us a lot in putting together this update :)

Apart from the the bug-fixes, there's a mighty fine content boost coming your way with this one:

  • Introducing the
    Bazooka and
Grenade Launcherweapons! Please handle with caution!
  • What can possibly be better than explosions? Bigger explosions of course!
  • You will now find a new Mech Tech in rotation to enhance your explosive weapons
  • You guys told us how the Mech was kind of vulnerable in battle. Two new armor upgrades are available for you to select among the Mech Tech, both with different bonuses. Choose wisely though, for you can only equip one of them in the same run!
  • You can now bring up the controls layout any time during your run by pressing F1 on the keyboard or pressing the left stick on the controller. You also have the option to check the controls from the menu. But make sure you have eaten beforehand. Or that you haven't.
  • A whole new perspective: the camera has been slightly lifted - as many asked for it - thus now you can see a lot more of what is happening around you.

Many of you have also pointed out how we have left you clueless sometimes about what one item or the other does. We have heard you and are putting together an in-game knowledge base for your convenience in our next update.

Thanks again for all the thoughts you sent us and remember to keep 'em coming! Your feedback is always welcome at contact@shotgunwithglitters.com

Follow Moss Destruction on Facebook and Brightlocker too to participate in shaping the game! :)

    Stay safe out there! Cheers,

    From the Mocyclopedia: The Worm

First thing to ensure when you go to war: know thy enemy!
We will try to help you prepare for what lies ahead when you step up against the allied forces of evil threatening Mossoria
The worm is a minor threat in the battlefields but by no means should be neglected! Their huge number and the poison they leave behind make them as fierce of an enemy as they get. Make sure to avoid the puddles and take out as many of them slimy freaks as you can!

    From the Mocyclopedia: Backup Disk

The Backup Disk is a quite useful item to keep in your inventory. Think of it as a life insurance: this rare passive powerup will automatically trigger on the first incoming blow that would otherwise prove to be lethal. Instead of dying, the disk will fill back half your lifebar. You can carry around one disk in both inventory slots at any time. Reassuring for sure, but any disks you keep with you might take up space from other useful items, so the choice is up to you: would you rather stock up on safety nets, or give room for other items you might encounter on you run?

    UPDATE 0.0.2

    Hi Folks!

We are truly thankful for all your initial responses and bug reports! These were possibly the most important feedback at this early stage and we've been busy correcting what was not right. Keep 'em coming guys! :)

So here is today's minor update note:

  • controller support issues corrected
  • controls are now displayed on screen
  • fixed alien tech icon glitch
  • minor animation bug fixed on some enemy types
  • enemies now don't 'stack' on each other
  • pathfinding mechanism updated
  • pause menu UI issues fixed
  • other minor bug-fixes

We've also balanced a bit on your starting weapon and tweaked some on the default controls, but most importantly: You will find some really cool, NEW alien tech that you can pick up and use! Make sure to try them all, if you dare to, that is.

Once again, thanks for your feedback, we appreciate it a lot and are looking forward to hearing more of what you have to say!
