For the desktop version, I updated to some 4K textures on the flooring as well as improved the shadows when the lights are on. Gives it an even more realistic look. -Raising Awesome

VR Beta now included! After purchasing, right click on Son.Light.Sleepwalker in your library and choose Properties-->Betas and select vr_beta. You can flip the selection back to none to play the desktop and Linux versions. This is an early release, but VR absolutely creates an immersive, scary experience like no other! -Raising Awesome

VR is coming! It's already working and by 11/30, we'll upload a separate download for VR users. For one price, you get the desktop version, the Linux version, and the Oculus tested version. We can't believe how much VR adds to the immersion. You hold the tablet in your hand and can peek through the door now. Having the "game in a game" is a super rare game mode. So, challenging, we had to change some settings to make it a little easier. Get you an Occulus 2. Get you a PC link cable. Get freaked out!!

When a tablet such as Microsoft Surface Pro 7 or Surface Book 2 is used in tablet mode, you no longer have the space bar and escape keys readily available. With the new UI, everything you need is on the screen. This allows for the most immersive experience since the game is about a mom and dad in their bedroom on a tablet. Don't Freak Out!!! Sean

For more immersion, we added 32 additional voice tracks. That's 78 total. They are randomized at the beginning of the game so that it is very rare to hear the same expression twice in a setting. I also added suspenseful music to the final segment - adding to the tension and jump scares. Enjoy! -Sean

We have a new character to help with the jump scares - Arania the Spider! She likes to crawl around a particular camera to give you a little jolt when you least expect it. Have fun! -Sean

Did I make it too hard?!?! It appears I'm the only one of all early release owners that has actually been able to beat the game. Tell you what: if you are first to beat the game, I'll send you a RETRO PI. If you don't know what that is- look it up. You'll thank me!!!!! Also, let me know how it could be better (for a 7-12 year old) after you beat it! -Sean

0.9.9.1: Now that you can Continue or do a new Game, I now have it skip the intro. This allows you to get to the action quicker from the main menu. Sean

The Main Menu now has been redesigned to allow one to Continue where you left off or have the option to create a New Game. It's the little things that add up to awesomeness. ;-). For you Early Release owners, a lot has been added to the house in the last two weeks. Have fun! -Sean

I've been working my tale off to polish this off for the full release. The latest build now has all the new cutscenes to transition between restarts. There are 10 recorded that are randomized at the start of the game - so you won't get that Bethesda robot feeling from the AI while playing. There is also a new animation for the son when he pounds on the door. Enjoy! -Sean

In the final chapter, a bug was introduced after I inserted a new chapter. It caused the player to bounce up and get stuck in the ceiling when running into walls. Ouch! It's now fixed, so you now can much more easily navigate to the music horse and beat the game! -Sean

Son.Light.Sleepwalker now autosaves after each chapter. This will take away frustration of having to repeat chapters after leaving the game. We'll add a menu to front screen that will let you select "Continue" or "New Game". For now, it is continuing where you left off the last time played. We also threw in autopausing if you hit Shift Tab to view the Steam Overlay. -Raising Awesome

Based on the data from the steam Achievements, it appears that I needed to add another level after the first one to allow the player to get use to the mechanics. So, we added the "cookie jar" level. In the story, the boy is just sneaking a cookie in the middle of the night. But, because the Dad is all freaked out by him "sleepwalking", they play the night accordingly. As we watch the stats from user interaction with the game, we'll continue to tweak the gameplay and levels. Thanks for playing!

We have integrated the Steamworks API into Son.Light.Sleepwalker! The first achievement will be for getting the boy back into bed the first time. Its fully test with both Windows and Linux. We'll release more achievements in the next week. Do you have any achievements you would like to see? Comment below! -Raising Awesome

I just uploaded the latest build with Maker Mode! This allows 4D gaming - that is, triggering of real world effects to add to the jump scares. It will be available on 8/13/2018 when Steam allows the game release. This is a mode for Makers - you know - people who like to hack with the Raspberry PI, Arduino, Trinket, etc. You first connect the microcontroller to the PC via USB. When you pause the game, hit the letter 'm' for maker to cycle through your available COM ports. When you resume the game, it will start sending a number 0 through 9 to the microcontroller at key events. Makers can code a microcontroller to trigger things like the following: -blink lights on and off in your house -turn on a fan -start an old school tape recorder playing something creepy -triggering a buzzer clipped to your collar to give you a jump If you are a maker, the sky is the limit to adding in the 4th dimension. Here is an Instructable to help build your Arduino code: https://www.instructables.com/id/4D-Gaming-With-the-Arduino-aka-4D-Gaming-Engine Remember, don't let him go into the light---or he may awake! See ya', Sean

🎮 Full Controller Support
- Son.Light.Sleepwalker Linux [867.83 M]
Son.Light.Sleepwalker is a strategy game full of building suspense, jump scares, and eerie challenges. It covers a four night period with an unsuspecting story with an amazing twist at the end. You have to use your whit as the suspense builds through each encounter.
The ideal gaming scenario would be lying in bed with a laptop/tablet and head phones - or on a PC with the lights out. The game is fully voice acted in stereo as though your wife is sitting right next to you. The frightful whispers between the two of you will cause chills up your spine. This presents an immersive, almost too real experience to what you see on the screen that will give you a most memorable experience. Share a headphone connection and play side by side for even more immersion.
This is an Indie game presently Early Access, but playable to its end. It is aimed for ages 7 to 70.
In the screenshots available on the Steam Page, you will notice a grainy look. This look is due to much of the game being played through security cameras which you are controlling. Each camera has its own "quality" issues which add to the immersion of the gameplay as you control the security system and Smart Lights.
