Update 1.8.1 is available - Visual Novel Mode!

Greetings fellow doctors! It's with great pleasure that I'm announcing you update 1.8.1 of General Practitioner. It adds many interesting stuff for the game, fixes some nasty persistent bugs and also introduces you new characters and a brand new medical exam! VISUAL NOVEL MODE You can now start a new game in Visual Novel Mode, meaning you will play the story without medical examinations, moving from one chapter to the next one and choosing who to pursue as a romantic interest.
Visual Novel mode is more than just a re-cut of content: the whole game has been revisited and improved, conversations have been added, the overall pacing of the story has increased and fixes have been applied. We made every effort to give players who already tried the game once to experiment more paths in a simpler way. Whenever a "RED" dialogue option appears, it means that's a "Path Point", meaning you will choose the romantic partner with that dialogue and that choice will accompany you through the rest of the game. You cannot change the romantic path once started (the "Story Mode" will keep allowing you to do so, this is limited to Visual Novel mode only).
NEW RITA, NON-NTR STORY As promised some time ago, Rita's NTR path has been made optional by a setting in the Preferences Screen. You can now live your romantic relationship with her without worrying too much about other guys having an affair with her. Dialogues with Rita have changed, a new ending has been added as well as two different events and sexual situations. Explore the new path in both Story and Visual Novel mode! NEW MEDICAL EXAMINATION: KAVITHA As a reward for pledging on our patreon page, you can write down and ask for a medical exam to be introduced in the game. Kavitha is such a reward and you can enjoy her medical examination helped by a medical student named Jamal.
Follow Kavitha's story and enjoy this fresh, sexy content in both Exam Mode and Story Mode! A lot of improvements have been made throughout the game. I hope you'll enjoy them. The game is constantly being updated with new content, for free. PRICE INCREASE FOR THE GAME As the game gets more and more content it is planned to increase its price a little. The price stayed this way since Alpha release 0.0.18 but it also received many big updates, and more are coming. Those of you who already own the game should worry not, as they will receive every update for free. For the others I suggest you to grab a copy during the upcoming summer sales, as the game will receive a nice discount! The new price for the game will be 19,99$ (and regional equivalents) starting from after the Summer Sales. Of course this doesn't apply to current owners of the game. Added an option to turn off NTR Content with Rita when starting a new game in both Visual Novel and Story Mode. You cannot change that option once the game's started.
Fixed an issue which prevented, in some cases, to play the "Physician, Heal Thyself" doctor's own examination by his relative. The issue occurred if you didn't hire all available physicians. This examination is not available in Visual Novel mode.
Google Analytics' choices tracking system has been removed from the game.
Various bug fixing
Fixed a crash during Katia Lopez's 2nd examination when performing MRI or Urinalysis
Fixed an issue which awarded -5 points for not performing an ultrasound exam on Felicity when it was not intended to be available.
Current release number has been added in the main screen on the lower right corner
Fixed an issue with Maryanne's examination not giving you the right points and outcome for your choice to call social services.
Changed the way you can dismiss Lacey Greene when she comes for her third, fourth and fifth examination.

GAMEPLAY:

Visual Novel mode is now available!

EXAMINATIONS:

New exam available: Kavitha (ID Code 6082756276). This examination has been written upon request as a reward for a pledger on Patreon. You can play the examination in EXAM mode and in Story mode after October 23rd, in-game time.

STORY:

A new ending and new dialogues have been written for Rita if you disabled the NTR content.
A new fully dialogued sex scene with Rita has been added if you follow her path and disable the NTR content.

Live the everyday life of a General Practitioner: go to the clinic every day and meet new patients, develop your skills through study and manage your clinic and your staff. With dozens of items to buy and an always short budget will you be able to treat your patients in the best way?

Deep and engaging narration
General Practitioner features a very long and deep storyline which will take you in a world of mistery and deception. Explore the game's main story while enjoying the other activities available in town. The whole game contains more than 40 hours of gameplay and it's growing update after update!

You decide your own fate
Choices in dialogues and situations really matter! With more than 100 choices to make both in the Main Story and in medical exams you'll experience the consequences of your actions (and in-actions as well). You decide your own fate, do you have what it takes to be a General Practitioner?

Meet new people
The built-in romance system allows you to hang out with dozens of characters of both genders, jog with them at the local park, play a bowling game, relax at the local spa. If you are smart enough you can even make them fall in love with you and ask them to live together, unlocking special conversations and events with them.

You won't know if the date will go well or not, because that depends on fate (and your choices and comfort level of the other one). The more you build up your date's confidence the more chance of success you will have.
Each character you date has a pool different characteristics (i.e. people they like/dislike, favourite foods, informations about their family or job etc.). You'll randomly get to know a different characteristic each time a date will go well and, since they're random, they will be different each time you play General Practitioner or load a save game.

Each patient is different
With a pool of more than 90 scripted patients also comes a random examination system!
Simply put: each time you play the exams will be different. From a pool of 60 diseases and five different patient's archetipes (Children, Teenagers, Young Adults, Adults and Elders) you won't get the very same situation twice!

Medical accuracy
Developed with the help of a real MD, the game features medical informations that are accurate and up-to-date. Please do not take medical informations other than for having fun in the game. If you experience some medical concern ask your doctor as soon as possible.

Original Soundtrack
Ann Sharova (Zup6!, Just Ski, Ezmir: The Last War and many others) composed a soundtrack with 12 different scores to accompany you in your trip as Chief Practitioner of St. Mary's Clinic.
