Added new features for local multiplayer: Now you can choose your time limits from 1 minute to 2 hours and increment from 0 to 30 seconds per move. Also you can now play chess 960 on top of super 960 variant in local multiplayer mode. This is also recommended mode to play over internet with friends by utilizing steam's remote play feature (as the online multiplayer is old code and doesn't seem to deliver that well)
Didn't yet update the game as there were still some issues with ratings. - Chess Engine AI will soon get upgraded (around 200 rating points): The new lvl 8 is approximately as strong as old lvl 10. Now the strongest Chess AI is around ELO level 2200.

Enabled mac and linux builds, as I managed to fix on mac and linux builds a major issue where the game gets stuck after completing the game. Fixed check detection when there's multiple rook+rook or bishop+bishop pieces. So now the game should work in these situations more reliably.

The bug fixes include: 1. Fixed a visual problems with En passant when observing a played game. 2. English grammar corrections to the tutorials, thanks to TraDukTer for a big help here. 3. Leaving a game in progress against the AI and then returning will not set the AI to 700 level anymore. 4. Made the shortcut icon much better, the old one was pretty bad as for some reason it wasn't very sharp. Now the icon is sharp and nice. 5. Updated Mac and Linux builds to 64-bit. Also, Mlyst Corporation is progressing quite well with the new game, I would estimate that it will get launched during the next 1 or 2 months. So the new game takes some heavy inspiration from Super Hexagon and includes cool features to this type of games. But I will tell later more what those features are. This is not yet the proper trailer video, but more of a sneak peek for those who are interested. It's a novel, creative and intellectually stimulating new kind of chess game. It might not look as juicy and tasty as some other games with flashing lights and fancy marketing materials, but this game is actually better for you. This game is like avocado, blueberries and other healthy foods, while most games out there are like chocolate bars with 50% sugar and 20% saturated fat and eating that stuff is just killing you slowly, even if it tastes better for a while. You can choose to take the easy way out and resist getting influenced by me or you can choose to hear me out, because you know it's good for you. Ignore me and the story ends and believe whatever you want to believe. Hear me out and I show you how deep the game is. Remember: all I'm offering is the truth.
I first thought about increasing the price because of the huge content update, but then I thought that okay, lets cut the price instead, because that feels more interesting thing to do for me! So I cut the price! steamhappy
Fixed some issues brought by the new content of chess variants. For example.. -A couple of the variants didn't work. I tested the variants more to make sure that they work. -White 2d Rook+Rook piece had wrong graphics, it didn't have the same look as all the other pieces. -Pawn+Pawn piece was able to jump through pieces if it was on the 2nd rank (for white) or 7th rank (for black). (Pawn+Pawn piece couldn't be found from those places before the added chess variants).
Very happy news for you guys! This is not April's fool joke either!
There is a new "Scenarios" button included right next to the start game button, that will give the player more chances to customize the game!

Hello Super X Chessers! Pleased to announce that this update includes.. 1. Improved, more varied openings for the AI. 2. Cancel move functionality on right mouse button click 3. Other small fixes, such as prettier splash screen. ;) Edit: Apparently there was still one really nasty issue with the tutorial, got that now fixed, too! Enjoy!
- Fixed Linux and Mac builds so that they should be now at least playable. (Sorry for not testing them very actively) And special thanks for Falconboy82 for reporting issues with Linux build. -Added leaderboards shortcut button to "Played Games" submenu. This could be surprisingly important thing as now players could have more motivation to keep playing the game. For example, how about becoming the highest rated Super X Chess player in the world? Demo is now also patched to include recent updates. (1.16, 1.14 etc.)
-Observing old played games now functions bug-free. -Tweak to credits. Thanks to ZoG for pointing out some issues again.
Issues that got fixed: 1: When a Pawn is promoted, the game always freezes in the battle of "local multiplayer". 2: "Played Games" does not work properly. -Possibly fixed some problems with the game not rendering in 3d mode properly. -Added more descriptions on why the game ends in a draw. The game now tells the cause of the draw like this: Fifty move rule, 3-fold repetition, Insufficient material to mate, Stalemate". Thank you for ZoG for reporting these issues.
-Made still one weaker AI opponent to improve the player experience for the majority of people, who don't have much chess experience/knowledge/skill. -Fixed a rare but very annoying issue where the game would switch sides with the AI. -Fixed promotion panel graphics issue: the "promotion option" images were unclear on 3d mode. -Fixed difficulty setting issue after playing tutorial and then continuing to play the game that wasn't finished.
According to the data the easiest AI difficulty level was too difficult for players without much chess playing experience. The chess engine difficulty range was increased and the play experience should improve for most players.
Demo build had issues when the game was over: "the game doesn't exit from "White wins" screen. after i have managed to start the new game somehow i see that i have 2 wins and 2627 losses - my rating went from 1000 to 52 - how that could be?" Thanks for shpasic for reporting the issue.
Demo includes:
- Added ability to hide the GUI in-game with esc button. The second press will reveal the GUI again. This is pretty good to have feature for taking pretty screenshots. -Fixed a few bugs.

! Russian language is now added and so this is the first official patch of the game and I hereby will claim that the game has reached version 1.1.
Recent update of graphics didn't come without bugs. The game graphics weren't working on many resolutions. Now they are!
