Bard's Gold 1.2 Halloween Update
Hello folks, It was a lot of work, but we are finally finished and the Halloween update is here! I would like to start by thanking everyone who has supported us and helped with bug reports/feedback. Turning Bard's Gold into a better game. We have a lot of new content and a new game mode! Here it is:
New game mode : Hardcore
We have added a health bar in the new game mode versus the current standard of instant-death. You will also be able to upgrade your stats as you progress throughout the run. However, you will not benefit from upgrades nor will you be able to upgrade your passive skills after the end of the run (upon permanent death.)
- The level loading system has been changed to be a bit more complex, increasing the random factor in the new game mode.
- New leaderboard
- Secrets
Halloween Content
We have developed all new levels, spooky enemies and traps, and even a complete new world. They are all hidden within the stages; you just have to find them!
Bug Fixes & Changes
- Skill Book Names were not appearing correctly on some resolutions, but has now been fixed.
- Boss health has been reduced, but their mitigation has been increased resulting in decreased damage taken.
- Applying gems to passive skills now has a quicker rate of application.
- In world 2-1 after acquiring a map piece and entering the shop, the map piece would disappear. This has been fixed.
- On certain resolutions the game was too dark due to surface issues. We have now fixed this.

Hello folks, we are happy to announce that Bard’s Gold will be released at 14.8.2015!! It was an incredible journey for us and since this is our first commercial project we gained a lot of experience as well. We sincerely thank everyone for their support on our way through the greenlight process and the feedback/bug reports which came in during the Alpha Build Phase. Unfortunately due the some problems the Mac version of the game is temporary disabled and will be available at a future date. Thanks for your support/ understanding and we hope you are hyped as we are!

This game takes inspiration from early 90's platforming classics such as Rainbow Island, Rick Dangerous, Alex Kidd and Erik, which at the time were popular on the Amiga and consoles. Bard's Gold is slower paced than most current day platformers, but is extemely challenging. Players need to avoid enemies, traps and projectiles in order to progress. Being hit by any of them means instant death. Difficult puzzles and towering bosses will have to be overcome to reach the filthy goblin that stole the family treasure.

- Old school platforming experience - No tutorials or explanations how things should be done. Everything including the basic game mechanics must be figured out by yourself as you go.
- Rogue-lite - Different layouts for each level is randomly chosen every playthrough.
