Hi community, Yes, we are still alive! It has been a long time since we last posted any update, but today we have pushed a new version of the game, so we wanted to talk about it. It has been two years since the first release of Steamroll already. We have been very busy surviving and working for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, but we decided that it was time to update the Steamroll engine to the latest version. That was a 4-version jump! We hope that now that we are using Unreal Engine 4.18, most of the technical glitches that some users were experiencing on AMD CPUs are gone. We have also improved the support for high-resolutions (4K) that had an uncomfortable user interface, we have solved some level design issues and introduced new textures for the Scarabeus and some other details in level assets. We have also fixed some minor localisation and gameplay glitches as well. We hope you like it. Thanks for playing our game! The Steamroll team

Dear community, We have just pushed a new version of the game adding Korean language support (thanks to our community member Dollppin!) and several fixes like: - cut text boxes in Russian and Ukrainian. - Scarabeus stuck without control at the the start of the "Low Pressure" level. Dear community, We recently pushed a new version of Steamroll with updated translations. There is French now, and we have update dthe Russian and Ukrainian translations. Thank you very much to all the community translators that helped us! We also updated the engine to Unreal Engine version 4.12. This should improve performance a little bit. This update is also comming to Mac, since we couldn't provide the last one because of an engine issue that has been fixed since (thanks Epic). Steam on! j.

Dear community!
We have added a set of 5 music tracks as free DLC to Steamroll. Our musician has been working hard in putting together some of the game music in standalone tracks for you to listen. Moreover, we have added 2 bonus tracks, with music that was developed and evaluated during the audio concept stages of the game. Pay special attention to "Memories of an ancient steam machine"!
We have also added community-contributed translations for Ukrainian (thanks to Andrey Gusev!), and an initial partial translation to Russian (thanks Essencer!). These are still under development and will be completed/corrected in the following releases. Moreover we have updated the Unreal Engine version to 4.11, with some performance improvements. Unfortunately, this update is not ready for Mac yet, since we are still trying to solve some technical problems with Unreal Engine in that platform, we hope to have it ready soon.
Keep rolling!

Dear community, We have setup the leaderboards for Steamroll in the Steam site! If you already solved a puzzle in Steamroll you can now see how your solution compares to the rest of players here. We have prepared two leaderboards for each level:
- time in seconds to complete the level
- resources used to solve a level
We thought that our developer accounts would be at the top of most of the leaderboards, but we have already been beaten by some users... but we warned: we don't give up easily! steamhappy Some users have posted speedrun videos in the Steam community, so if you need ideas to improve your times go watch them! Thanks! The Steamroll team

Hi Steamrollers, We have just uploaded a new version with some fixes to the game. The changes include: - small dialogue hint at the beginning of level 12 reminding that you can control 2 Scarabeus. - added water splashes in level 18. - leaderboard fixes for players who tested the early access version that added them with a 0 value. - Script fixes for English and Catalan, and clipped text in 720p version of the SteamLog. - Cleaned up some collisions in level 18 that were make the route prediction very "randomy" - fixed red mark flickering for bomb predictions. - bombs with a timer will explode now if the steamball hits a crystal. All these were urgent fixes based on player feedback. Thanks to all who reported! The Steamroll Team

Dear community! We have just pressed the big green button on Steam! After working hard for 18 months, we think Steamroll is finally complete. Comapred to the last version in Early Access (#26) we have been optimising more, and we have added support for German. More languages, bugfixes and optimisations will come in the following days, but for now enjoy the game and take a look at the new release trailer in the Steam Store. Thanks all for this support during this long journey! The Steamroll Team

Dear community, We have just unlocked the version 26 of the game. It is still a beta but it may be the last version before we release the final one. We would love all the feedback that you can provide so that we can iron out all the critical issues before 1.0 release. The changes include: - The final level. - Scarabeus animations for moving and charging pressure. - Lots of new sound effects. - Heavy video memory optimisation. - Rework of most of the menus. - SteamLog: the main character's personal journal with hints about what is going on. - Many bugfixes! Some Windows users have reported problems with the Visual Studio 2015 Runtime failing when starting the game. This is an issue common with other games using the same runtime and we are investigating it. If you had this problem and have any information related to this issue let us know! We hope you like it! Dear community, From today we have the beta version available on Steam. It is the complete game, with many improvements compared to the current default version: the final level, more animations, sounds, optimisations, achievements, rankings, etc. But it hasn't been tested much so we don't want to set it as the default for everybody yet. If you are one of those brave souls and want to test it, you can enable it following these steps: - Go to your steam library and locate Steamroll in the list - Right-click with your mouse on the list and select "Properties" from the popup menu. - In the new window, go to the "Betas" tab. - In the drop-down menu you should have the option to select the beta version. - Close the properties window and wait for the game to update. If you want go back to the main version, you can just follow the same procedure and unselect the beta version. Warning: the beta version only supports English at the time of writing this announcement, any other language will show mixed messages. This will change soon and more languages will appear. Leave us any feedback as usual. We are getting close to the completion of the project but we still have time for improvements! Thanks! The Steamroll Team

Hello! We have been working on the implementation of achievements, steam cards, and leaderboards for our game. If you see them in the game steam site, but they don't work for your current version, it's because they will be activated in the upcoming full release! We are almost there, The Steamroll team

Dear community,
We are working hard to push a huge update to Steamroll. This update takes much longer than any other because it has a lot of changes, and it is a candidate to be the complete game.
Here is a list of some of the changes we are trying to include:
- added additional final level.
- added Scarabeus moving and shooting animations.
- redesigned all the user interface.
- final version of all props.
- reviewed the script and added the "steamlog" to keep track of the story.
- extended the music loop system.
- added internal per-level goal systems.
- added steam achievements.
- added steam trading cards.
We are not sure when will this version be ready, but we are sure we want to have it in beta for some time, to be able to fix all the bugs and optimise it. We will provide access to anyone interested, but we won't push it as the main version until it is good enough!
Back to work!
The Steamroll Team
Dear community,
We have just pushed update #22 out on Steam! This version has some changes related to the feedback received by players during the Granada Gaming show: faster balls. We had heard that request before, and always tried to resist, but this time we had to yield and do it :). Now steamball simulation is faster and people will have to wait less to see their pretty walls deployed. Oh, and we added a new level:
Bullet list of changes:
- added new level "Uphill Struggle"
- steamball physics simulation goes faster.
- fixed the usual typos in translations.
- fixed some crashes in the Driller level.
- added camera position widget when deployed in a base.
We will spend some time now in bug fixes and optimisation before releasing new levels, since we have some accumulated work in that area.
Enjoy Steamroll, and happy solstice holidays!
The Steamroll Team
Hello community!
A quick announcement to say that we have released another update! This one is more of a bug-fixing update, but it also includes refreshed 2D artwork like this:
...and some usability improvements like colouring the walls and ramps in the prediction with the same colour than their icons and item pickups.
The next update will bring a new level and many more improvements next week!
The Steamroll team
Hello again,
This has been a very busy week and we are back with a new update, number #20 for Steamroll Early Access. In this update we have added many things, including another new level.
We recommend to everyone who played the "Driller" level, to play it again because we have added a final cut-scene that introduces the next level (otherwise you may not understand what happened).
Change log:
- Added new level: "Low Pressure"
- Added cut-scene at the end of "Driller"
- Added decals on the ground for explosions.
- Fixed mouse focus problem with the change list in the main menu.
- replaced some button by a bigger version to show that they can be pressed with the Scarabeus (no need to shoot a steamball all the way up the Escher level!)
Enjoy it and let us know your feelings, as usual!
The Steamroll Team
Dear community,
The 19th update for Steamroll is live now for all platforms! In this update we added an additional level where you enter Valuska's workshop. Big problems require big solutions!
We also fixed several bugs related to mouse focus reported by our players, tweaked the difficulty of some levels like the Meeting Point and added the coolest "Level completed" and "You died" sounds you'll ever find in a game with steamballs.
As usual, send us your feedback and any bugs you find!
Enjoy!
The Steamroll Team
Dear community,
We have released the version number 18 of Steamroll over the weekend and applied a small fix today. This version is "the best version yet"(tm) and it includes a number of small fixes and improvements as well as an entire new level, "Depot", continuing our young enginner's quest to escape the mine.
Linux is also now officially supported. We hope you enjoy it and as usual let us know your feelings about the game!
The Steamroll Team
Dear players,
We are happy to announce yet another release of Steamroll Early Access. This is version 17 and it includes a nice new level introducing multi-slot steamballs!
These are the most relevant changes:
- New level "Port"
- User interface redesign for the steamball configuration controls.
- Messages now have larger, nicer images
- The trajectory prediction includes an end-of-route mark.
- CPU usage optimisations when predicting the shot.
- Mac version is now official!
- Unofficial Linux version is available for the brave hackers.
Known issues:
- Linux version for some NVidia cards and drivers combination (340) will show colorful rendering artifacts.
- Spanish and Catalan translation will still claim to be version #16
Send us our feedback, reviews, or death-threats (if you are stuck in a level) as usual!
The Steamroll Team
Dear Mac players, We are pleased to announce that the first version that supports OSX for all the Mac users! This version should be considered "beta" since we haven't had the chance to test it on many of the Mac computers in the market. Let us know if you have any problem with it and we'll fix it for you. Just get it on Steam and play! The Steamroll Team
We have just uploaded a new release of Steamroll Early Access! We have fixed many bugs, added many more sounds, and improved the graphcis with some tweaks here and there. The main addition again is a new level: "Meeting Point".
This is maybe the hardest level we have created so far, so let us know your thoughts! Is it too much for you?
Dear players and supporters, We have just released the version #15 of Steamroll in Early Access. This version has tons of fixes, art tweaks and even a new level "Coordinated Descent". Try it and give us some feedback here or write a review if you haven't already! Changelist: - Added level "Coordinated Descent" - Fixed camera closeups - Added many more sound FXs to events and cinematics. - Minor optimisations in video memory usage. - Added level start captions - Minor changes in some maps to avoid "easy solutions" that we hadn't planned :P - Removed "Undo" system in favor of "Checkpoints". ...and probably more! Give it a go and tell us what you think! The Steamroll Team
Ahead of the Early Access release of the game later this week, we have activated the store page and the community hub for Steamroll. Please take a look and use it to send us any feedback and to share your thoughts about our game!

Steamroll - Original Soundtrack
In Steamroll you are a young engineer in his first day of work and take control of the Scarabeus, the greatest new steam-fuelled vehicle invention, while you try to survive in a crumbling mine and look for a way out.
The Scarabeus
Half beetle, half armadillo, this amazing rolling vehicle can transform and deploy itself into certain bases. This allows you to fill the steam tank and, most important, to shoot steamballs. In its shooting form, the Scarabeus is connected to an underground resources tank. From there, you'll have to find out the best angle to solve the puzzles this mine proposes. Precision and calculus are needed to push buttons, activate switches and open doors.
Steamballs
These small spheric devices can be shot in several angles and intensity. You'll have to be careful using them, you'll have a limited amount of resources in each deployment base. Steamballs can be filled with latest technology inventions, which will deploy after the steamball is shot.Walls will allow you to create surfaces in which steamballs will bounce.
Explosives might be very useful to get rid of garbage and obstacles.
Placed correctly, a ramp is the best way to reach higher places.
Explore this dark steampunk adventure and meet some weird characters in your great and dangerous escape. Use your skills wisely and remember that patience is a virtue.
