Hello everybody! After some delays, we present you Empire TV Tycoon Enhanced Edition. This patch was going to be the version 1.3 of the game, but we’ve added so much new features, upgrades and implemented lots of your suggestions -during those last months- that we decided to skip 2 game versions, so this patch will become Empire TV Tycoon v1.5, also known as Empire TV Tycoon Enhanced Edition. Due to the massive changes, improvements and new features that have been added to the game with this patch, the 1.2.3 save files (latest stable build) aren't compatible with the 1.5 version. But as usual, the old version is available under the “beta” option of Steam Library for Empire TV Tycoon, so if you still want to finish your saved games, you can revert your game to the 1.2.3 version and keep playing. The new features of Empire TV Enhanced Edition are: Mods and Workshop Empire TV Tycoon v1.5 include mod support and steam workshop. Right now with mods you will be able to modify or add the following: - Add new movies into the game and modify any value(name,genre,score...) of the existing movies of the game. Also add a poster for your movies, visible in the movie tag, and Add or Modify the lower left image that appears in the tv for each movie when it's on air. - Add new ads and Modify any value(name, description, rewards...) of the existing ads of the game. Also add a poster for your ads, visible in the ad tag, and Add or Modify the lower left image that appears in the tv for each ad when it's on air. - Add new actors with their photos and Modify any value(name, prefered genres...) of the existing actors of the game, and add a custom photo for them. - Add new news and Modify any value(description, genre...) of the existing news of the game, and add a custom tv image for them. - More options will be added over time (feel free to make your suggestions in this subject). Antennas Map The antennas map is our new progression system for the game. We weren't 100% happy with the progression system that we had in which you had to buy 2 upgrades for increasing your max audience, it was a little simple and the audience numbers increments were too drastic, so we wanted to change it at some point. Also, the community was nostalgic of how Mad TV handled this issue and suggested us to do something similar, we were a little hesitant at first because we thought it wasn't needed and we didn't want to make the exact same system that Mad TV had. Finally, we decided to implement it but in our own way and with a twist, buying antennas will not only increase your channel max audience, it will also attract a specific audience groups that you choose and make them watch more your channel. With this feature you will be able to customize your channel even further and thus if you decide to specialize only in one genre or audience group and only buy antennas that attract that group you will start noticing with each antenna than more and more hours of you daily schedule is filled with your prefered audience groups. This opens even more the possibility to make a themed channel because buying the right antennas will fill all your scheduled hours with your selected groups. Reworked Ads We have changed how the ads works in the game, thanks to the new progression system with the antennas. Now, to complete an ad you must achieve a minimum of viewers, based on a % of your channel average potency (which you upgrade buying new antennas). The required viewers and % to complete an ad varies depending of the ad and his difficulty, also keep in mind that harder ads gives better rewards. When you are playing a game you will see new and harder ads appearing while the easier ones disappear during the game progress. We have also added over 50 new ads in the game to make things more varied and interesting. Special Content With this patch we introduced 6 new tags for default content and also for player made content, those tags add another layer of options and possibilities on top of the movie genre types. The special content gives a bonus to normal movies making them even more liked by specific audience groups. - movies have a bonus to all audience groups. - <+16> movies have a bonus to all audience groups, but children shouldn't watch them. - movies have a huge bonus to elders and a big bonus to other male audience groups, but female audience groups don't like it. Those movies shouldn't be scheduled before late night. - movies have a big bonus to all female audience groups, but male audience groups don’t like it. - movies have a big bonus to children and a bonus to men, geeks and women, but elders don’t like it. - movies have a big bonus to geeks and a bonus to children, but elders don’t like it. The players will be able to produce special content once they buy the corresponding upgrade at 300 fame, but added a custom game option to have that upgrade on day 1. Also now, the player made content have a chance to become cult content when it gets high audiences during the emission of the content. Movie Archive The new movie archive keeps records of all your produced movies during the same game. In there you will be able to see how many points you assigned in each category in the production process and the score you got in each of them. Also you can use the previous movies as a template, and assign the same point distribution into your new production with just one button. And finally the movie archive also keeps a record of the awards that won each movie that you produced. Second Seasons Now you can produce sequels, prequels, spin offs and new seasons of your produced content! To do so, the scriptwriters can produce special scripts based on the previous movies that you produced. Those scripts have special bonus and tend to have higher probability to become a master script. Then you can keep the actors that performed at your first production and they will get a bonus in performance, and finally in the production window you can choose what type(sequel,prequel, new season,,,) of content you want to do. Workers - New worker: Content Specialist. This worker increases the freshness recovery of your content and greatly reduces the reroll cost for ads and movies . - The Public Relations now also reduces the cost of hiring actors. - The Hacker now also reduces the monetary penalty of any police mail. - Fixed the tooltip of the Community Manager ultimate. - Reworked the way in which workers appear in the hire worker window, and now one of each type are guaranteed. Custom channel logos This is the first iteration to customize the tv stations logotypes in Empire TV. Once you launch the game with the v1.5, the game will create a folder ‘logos’ under your local folder. This folder have 3 transparent images (80x60) named logoBlue, logoRed and logoGreen. Feel free to modify those images with the logotypes that you want for each channel. This images will be shown in the TV Picture (bottom left) and in the main floor of each player (floors 1, 5 and 9) near the elevator. New languages and custom translation The game have been translated to French, Russian and Portuguese (movie names are still in english, but fans will be able to modify, add and translate them through mods and the steam workshop). With this version you are able to create your own translations and/or modify existing ones. Once you launch the game with the v1.5, the game will create a folder ‘translations’ under your local folder. This folder will contain 7 files (6 for each language available in the game and 1 for your custom translation). The 6 language files are here for reference, that means that if you modify any of this 6 files the changes will not be shown ingame. On the other hand, the ‘Translation_custom.xml’ is a file with a custom translation that you can modify and share with your own translation (or a improved one) for the game. To use this translation, while you are ingame, select Options/Language/Custom. Other fixes - Added the channel names in the floor selection window in the elevator. - Removed the movie tag, now the content made by players is listed with the name in blue. - Added the current episode number in the tv show tag. - Raised the max number of movies you can have to 35. - Added a new smiley (dark red) for the really hated content. - Added over 200 new movies and tv shows - Added a button to reset your game global stats. - Modified the color of some texts in the game to make them more clear. - TONS of quality of life fixes We are really happy with this patch. Of course we will be adding more features and improvements over time and more options to do more varied mods with the workshop. We will continue fixing any new bug that appears with this patch while we plan new features, and also we are finishing a version of the game for tablets, we hope to have it ready for this summer.
