More gameplay options (including optional timers and map sizes), UI improvements and bug fixes We've made some changes following your great feedback! Here's a list of everything that's changed in version 1.1:
- You can choose some gameplay parameters when starting a new single player game: - Turn timer can be set to 60, 90, 120 or unlimited - Map size can be set to small, medium or large - You can choose to be the one who always ends the turn (even during a building turn)
- Hovering the mouse over a resource in the top-left panel will show the rate at which you are gathering that resource
- Units are partially visible (semi-transparent) when they are behind buildings and trees
- When placing a card, you can move the mouse to the edge of the screen to scroll
- Horseman stats changed: - Changed the base HP from 4 to 8 - Increased the unit's gold cost from 25 to 32 - Decreased the effect of the HP upgrade from 5 to 4
- The Select Unit button (or F key) will select any units that have not moved first, followed by those that have not taken any actions
- Fixed a bug that would cause tamed animals to be unable to attack in some circumstances
- Fixed the "polar opposites" achievement
- Fixed rare crash when loading the menu

Cardlings is a novel tactical game, with new mechanics that result in fast paced games with no waiting time between turns.
Your goal is to either destroy the enemy castle with any means at your disposal (and there are lots), or fully upgrade your own castle by gathering enough resources.
But this is not a traditional turn-based game. While you play a combat turn, moving your units around and attacking, your opponent plays a building turn: they can place buildings and collect resources. At the end of each turn you switch roles.
Only the player playing a combat turn can decide to end the turn, and it's in their best interest to do so as quickly as possible (to stop their opponent gathering lots of resources). This results in very intense, fast-paced games that still preserve all the depth of more traditional turn-based strategy titles.
Ultimately it's a game of wits where the winner is the player who makes the best use of the cards in their hand and the resources in the procedurally generated maps. You will have to think quickly. Will you be able to defeat the AI on the hardest difficulty level? Will you be brave enough to challenge other human players online?
