Transport Fever 2 is gearing up for its last major update this Autumn, packed with exciting new features to enhance your transport empire.
The highlight? Cross-platform mod support is here! Thanks to a new integration with mod.io, players across Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Mac AppStore, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S can dive into the vast collection of community-made mods. Whether youre tweaking trains or reimagining roadways, finding and using your favorite mods has never been easier. Plus, sharing save games and custom maps across platforms is now a breeze.
Join us on X, Instagram, and Facebook in the coming weeks as we explore the upcoming update, showcasing the diversity of mods that will be available, in addition to highlighting the new key features and improvements arriving with this update.
Prepare your transport empire for one last round of major enhancements as the Autumn Update rolls out. Its been an incredible journey, and we cant wait to see what you build next!
This autumn, the upcoming game update will bring many great new features for Transport Fever 2 players. In addition to the expanded modding support, there are many other improvements to make building easier and even more fun in the future.
The most prominent feature of the Autumn Update is the new, fully integrated mod browser, which is available to all players on Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Mac AppStore, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. With the mod browser, it is possible to browse through the extensive range of mods from the community directly in the game, subscribe to your favorites and then use them in the game. Beside the well known Steam Workshop, the mod browser will also support the mod.io platform from the creators of ModDB. By working together with them, we can now offer a common mod platform for all Transport Fever 2 editions.
To make modding easier, the modding tools will also receive useful additions with the upcoming Autumn Update. We are already supporting dedicated modders in transferring their content to the new platform and, if possible, preparing it for the console version. Interested modders can contact us if they want to make their mods available to all players.
In addition to mod support, improved road traffic is a key feature. Thanks to the revised simulation, cars will be better distributed on multi-lane roads and bypasses, instead of having to queue through the middle of the city. To make it easier to build these roads, the construction tools will be improved. For example, it will be possible to select existing bridges and tunnels and change their type after they were built, stations and depots will automatically align themselves with the road and when placing roads and tracks, help lines will support you in building exact angles.
After five years of active development with numerous free updates, the Autumn Update will be the last major update for Transport Fever 2. After that there is something new and great in the pipeline.

It has already been one year since Transport Fever 2 got released on consoles. Time has flown by and we are overwhelmed by the positive response from the community, which has continued to grow on all platforms in recent months. As we are always listening to our players' feedback, we are excited to release several improvements as part of the last game update in the second half of the year that many of you have been waiting for.
Today we want to give you a glimpse of two usability improvements: One of the new features is the implementation of better snapping options for road construction. This will make the placement of right angles and 45 junctions much easier and more intuitive. Another highlight is the ability to subsequently replace bridges and tunnels that have already been built without having to manually demolish them first. This not only saves time, but also makes it easier to adapt your infrastructure more flexibly to the technical innovations that will become available in the game over time.
The central element of this final update will be the announced cross-platform mod support for PS5, Xbox Series and all PC versions. We have already cleared many technical hurdles and are now in the middle of implementing this long-awaited feature. We look forward to giving many more players easy access to the content you've created for Transport Fever 2.
Together we have come a long way and we look forward to continuing the journey with you. Thank you for being part of the Transport Fever community!
As this year draws to a close, we are settling down a little and looking back on an eventful year with many highlights:
We started this year by releasing the Console Edition and a free update for everyone. At the same time, the Deluxe Upgrade, the first expansion for Transport Fever 2, was released. From what we have read and heard, you seem to have just as much fun playing with the additional content as we had creating it.
In the summer, we had a second highlight, which was entirely thanks to you: Transport Fever 2 now has more than one million players across the globe! This is a significant achievement for us, and we are deeply grateful for your continued support and enthusiasm. Making games is great, but making games for a community like ours makes it even more fulfilling. Besides this great news, Urban Games also celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. Neither of both would have been possible without you!
As already announced in our last post, this was not the last year of Transport Fever 2. We will release one more game update next year. More information about this will follow during the next few months.
The entire team at Urban Games wishes you beautiful and healthy holidays and a happy new year!
Exactly 4 years ago, Transport Fever 2 was released for PC. Since then, more and more players from all over the world have joined this amazing community. We wouldnt be here without your support, creativity, and feedback.
Thank you for joining us on this and upcoming journeys!
As we approach the 4th anniversary of Transport Fever 2, we would like to give an outlook into what lies ahead.
We are currently exploring the possibility of giving players on PS5, Xbox Series and on the Mac App Store, EGS, and GOG access to mod content. We plan to combine this with various other improvements in a major game update for PC and console platforms scheduled for the second half of 2024.
Transparency is important to us: the introduction of cross-platform content is a complex undertaking that can present unforeseen challenges. We are optimistic and committed to delivering the best possible experience for you. Today, we can already assure you that the well-used Steam Workshop for Transport Fever 2 will be unaffected by these developments.
In the meantime, you can expect more minor maintenance fixes to enhance your current gaming experience, with the first maintenance update already going to beta in December. Beyond routine maintenance, the mentioned game update in the second half of 2024 marks what we anticipate to be the concluding major update for Transport Fever 2. With this update, we want to express our sincere gratitude to the community for your ongoing interest and dedication.
Following this final milestone for Transport Fever 2, we have something new and great in the pipeline. It is still far too early, but we are already looking forward to telling you more about it.
Best wishes from the entire Urban Games team.

Even after this update, the Transport Fever 2 development team is continuously working on improving the game for PC and console. The passion and support of the players are of great importance in this process.
Enjoy the summer time and have fun playing!
The whole Urban Games Team

The entire Urban Games Team
We would like to say a big thank you to our community! The launch of the Deluxe Edition has been successfully and countless early supporters were on board right away. Last weekend, a record was even broken! With almost 10,000 players active at the same time, there were more players playing at the same time than at any time since the first months after the release of the PC version over three years ago.
The launch of the Console Edition of Transport Fever 2 was successful as well and we are pleased about the big interest in the game. We worked hard to optimize the interface specifically for PlayStation and Xbox and are thrilled that the game has been well received on these platforms.
We would also like to emphasize that we are still striving to improve the stability and usability of Transport Fever 2. We know that there is still room for improvement and we are working tirelessly to make the game experience as smooth as possible. Thats why we look forward to bringing you more fixes and improvements for the console and PC versions of Transport Fever 2 in the coming weeks. Thank you for your support!

We are thrilled to release a new gameplay video featuring the soon-to-be-available controller support. Together with Nihat Isik, developer at Urban Games, a transport empire is built on a tropical island and the most important game mechanics are explained. In the video, supply chains emerge to deliver cargo to the cities and a local transport network enables residents to travel across the island. [previewyoutube=IFoKYNq58Sk;full][/previewyoutube] For the first time, the new user interface optimized for controllers is used, which makes it possible to play Transport Fever 2 while sitting on the couch and relaxing on a large screen. While the video is recorded with the Console Edition, the new interface and controller support will be available to PC players and Steam Deck users with the upcoming game update too. The game update for PC will be released on 9 March 2023. Thank you very much for the interest in the game and best regards from the entire Urban Games team.
A multitude of enhancements awaits you on March 9th in the upcoming game update. These have already been presented on the Transport Fever 2 social media channels in recent weeks. For all those who would like to see the improvements at a glance, there is a summary in this news.
Selecting the appropriate vehicles for building your transport empire is a crucial aspect of Transport Fever 2. It is the realistic representation of the vehicles in the game world that really makes it possible to immerse oneself in this beautiful game world. That is why an impressive total of 85 vehicles have been completely redesigned as part of the upcoming free game update.
To improve the overall appearance, even more attention was paid to exact proportions when reworking the vehicles. For some of the vehicles, other originals and new paint schemes were used. The new vehicle models feature enhanced textures that fit much better into the look of the game. We are pleased to fulfill a wish of many players with better rendering of glass and eliminate the unwanted transparency rendering artifacts known as x-ray vision.
To provide the best possible gaming experience, not only vehicles have been improved. A good balance between the different hardware components is key to make it work.
The GPU-based terrain tesselation reduces the load on CPU and memory consumption. Less memory is also needed due to texture streaming, which allows clearing textures of models that are not in view anymore and constantly loading textures at the highest affordable resolution. Furthermore, the size of save games has been significantly reduced. Together with the improved map generation, this leads to noticeably shorter loading times.
To grow the Transport Fever 2 family even further, the range of officially included localizations is extended to 13 languages as part of the game update: Italian, Brazilian Portuguese and Korean will be included in Transport Fever 2. The localizations cover the whole user interface and all the written story texts of the campaign missions.
There is more good news for Steam Deck users: The full controller support will not only be available for PC on March 9th, but for Steam Deck as well!
Many more pictures of the new vehicle models and the differences to the old models are available on our social media channels:

We are happy to have you on board!
We are very excited to announce a new major game update, scheduled for February 2023.
Motivated by the upcoming release of Transport Fever 2: Console Edition, which we announced today, the update will include the complete rework of most vehicles such as trains, buses, aircraft and ships. Furthermore the game engine has been optimized and brings many noticeable improvements in the areas of stability and performance. On top of that, this version will add controller support to the game.
Game update highlights:
- Better graphics: Vehicles are modelled in even more detail and the rendering has been optimized.
- Increased stability and performance: Many optimizations in the area of simulation performance, memory usage, loading times and more.

Welcome back to the fifth and last game update preview post. Today, we talk about new features simplifying the usage and creation of mods. And on top of that, we invite you to two exciting events.
We start with a great new feature that allows you to easily reuse a specific selection of mods: mod presets. From now on you will be able to save and load a list of mods including their configuration. Moreover, the search for a missing manually installed mod will not be an issue anymore, as mods can now provide a direct link to their download location.
For the modding community, we've improved the model editor's usability and functionality, by implementing custom creation of different types of screenshots, selective saving options by resource types such as model, mesh, animation, or material files, and many small quality of life improvements.
If you are as excited about the upcoming game update as we are, then we have great news: before starting the public beta next week, we preview the new features in two livestreams: Livestream 1 will be run by Skye Storme on March 31st, 19:00 CEST, and livestream 2 will be run by Squirrel on April 3rd, 18:00 CEST.
In both streams one of our developers will be present and we look forward to answering your questions! We will share the links to the live stream on Steam before the events start.

Welcome back to the fourth preview of the next big game update. This week we're focusing on the advanced game settings, newly added fun features and various quality of life improvements.
We've added advanced settings to the menu for creating a new game. It will soon be possible to adjust financial and city growth factors individually. And for the overall difficulty, which determines the amount of income, we've added a "very hard" setting.
Your voice was heard: take place in the driver cab, enjoy the ride and use the horn to make everyone aware you are on the road. In addition to manually triggering the horn, whistle posts can be placed along the rails. This makes the game even more fun.
We gave the green light for the color palette too: from now on it will contain more default colors and, even better, you will be able to define custom colors too. Additional quality of life improvements are: new options to enable or disable bulldozer smoke effects and the persistent storage of the HUD icon filters.
There will be more information about the game update next week.
Welcome back to the third game update preview post. This week we cover alternative terminals for line stops, additional station capacities and higher loading times for trains exceeding their platform length.
The game update introduces alternative terminals for line stops to improve smooth cargo and passenger handling. In addition to the existing main terminal selection, further alternative terminals will be configurable. The vehicle will automatically be redirected to the next available terminal if the main terminal is already occupied. Station load balancing is now a matter of a few clicks.
Another important aspect of handling cargo and passengers is the capacity of a terminal. Currently, the storage capacity of terminals can be increased by extending the length of the platform. With the new game update, the modular station buildings will get capacities, too. These additional capacities will be shared across the station and can be used by all terminals.
At train stations, the length of the platform now also comes into play, because the loading and unloading times will increase, if the platform length is not sufficient for the train. This feature is optional and affects trains only, whereas alternative terminals and additional station capacities are available for all means of transport.
There will be more information about the game update next week.
Welcome back to the second game update preview post. This week, well take a closer look at the new features that allow better control over ship and road lines.
In the current version of the game, the player can control the road and rail lines using waypoints. The game update extends this ability to ship lines as well. Buoys can now be added to ship lines to guide their vehicles through the waters according to your needs. Have it your way!
Waypoint handling for road lines has also received an enhanced feature. After the game update, you will be able to select your preferred lane per line to use as a waypoint. They are no longer bound to the outermost lane.
There will be more information about the game update next week.
Welcome to the first preview post of the next major game update. For this first one, we will focus on two new tycoon features: additional cargo demands in towns and the dynamic development of industries.
In the current version of the game, each town requests two types of cargo - one for the industrial and one for the commercial district - and these types do not change over time. With the upcoming game update, towns will require additional types of cargo as their population increases.
Regarding dynamic development of industries, the update will allow additional industries to be spawned on the map during the game. Currently all industries are placed on the map at the very start.
Both new tycoon features are optional and can be adjusted as needed. We hope these changes will spice up your game experience. Enjoy the new challenge!
There will be more information about the game update next week.
We are back with fresh news about the upcoming major free game update, which includes various new tycoon and gameplay features. The team was deeply involved in the development process, and we are excited to share a short status update.
Most of the features are already implemented, and we are in the phase of internal playtesting. At the beginning of March we are going to start a series of feature previews on our social media channels. A little later we will release a beta testing version accessible to all of you, similar as we did it with the previous game updates. The team is already looking forward to your feedback.
So get ready to start exploring the new highlights soon. While we are at it, this year is a promising one for Transport Fever 2, we have a full agenda, plenty of plans, surprises and improvements. Just sit tight, hold on, and enjoy the ride!
Two years of Transport Fever 2 and counting! This year was a big one for our team, we launched significant updates, released the Mac version and tried to keep you posted on the progress we were making as much as possible.
We are baking a new update, ready to amaze you with added features and bring you more joy than ever before. There is of course more to come and we are going to keep you informed of all the innovations we are preparing.
The team is extremely thankful for your feedback, cause it is our endless source of inspiration. We managed to reach our goals in 2021, looking forward to this coming year and road ahead.
As we reach every milestone, we are proud to have such an amazing community next to us. The Urban Games team wishes you a happy and healthy holiday season.
It has been two amazing years since we launched our best seller and we want to thank the community for their participation, we couldn't have done it without you.
With this occasion, we must also express our gratitude towards your feedback on the next game update.
The realization of the next game update for Transport Fever 2 is picking up speed. After planning, we are now in the process of implementing the features and testing them in the game.
As announced, we are focusing on tycoon and gameplay elements. A small foretaste of the possible features:
More variety for tycoon lovers. There will be additional settings to customize the gameplay. The player can choose at the beginning of the game whether to have all or only a fraction of the total number of industries on the map. The remaining industries are then randomly placed on the map as the game progresses.
Additionally, line and vehicle management will be improved so that vehicles of a line can stop at different terminals of a station. This enables better utilization of the individual terminals and avoids traffic jams. We are also examining the introduction of waypoints for ships in order to be able to better control their routes.
Please bear in mind that the game update is still under development and the content may change. The concepts we are considering must first prove themselves in practice.
What is your feedback on the planned functions?
The team would like to thank you again for your continued interest in our game. Follow our social media channels to stay up to date.
The Transport Fever 2 adventure keeps going on and we are very excited to share our future plans with you.
The team is grateful for all the feedback and comments players shared in the past few months after announcing the "Summer Update". We truly want to make the best out of the game and great news is coming your way.
You asked, we listened: the planning of another new major game update just started. Even more thrilling is that we are focusing on the tycoon and gameplay elements. Additional details will be shared on our social media channels and here on Steam as we progress in a few months.
We are keen to road trip through this valley of innovative development and happy to see you embarking with us on this amazing journey. Destination will be truly epic!
We are very happy to release a new major Transport Fever 2 game update today.
The new Summer Update is based on community feedback and includes a great number of usability improvements, enhancements and bug fixes to enrich the gaming experience:
- More control over vehicles and lines
- More intuitive user interface and better tools
- An even more beautiful game world
- Better game menu and new settings
- More performance and stability
- Many other improvements
The public beta version has been available for two weeks now and thanks to your valuable feedback, we managed to fix the most significant issues. We will continue to stabilize the new version before the release next week.
We would like to highlight the new functions recently added during the beta phase, starting with another usability improvement: the bridge, tunnels and track crossings menu has been unified.
In addition, in case there are missing resources when loading a savegame, a popup window will display the missing or faulty mods.
Our team is looking forward to the release on the 8th of July.
We are happy to announce the release date of the next major Transport Fever 2 game update. The Summer Update will be released on Thursday, 8 July 2021.
The update includes a great number of usability improvements, bug fixes and enhancements to enrich the gaming experience.
Some more good news for you: the testing version is now available on Steam and GOG. We created a Steam group for feedback. Check our article in order to find out how to activate the testing version.
We look forward to hearing your feedback once you get to test the new features and improvements we worked on. The highlights of the Summer Update were featured on our social media channels over the past few weeks. For a detailed list of changes see release notes.
Thank you for your continuous interest in our game. The entire Urban Games team wishes you lots of fun with Transport Fever 2!
Apart from the already described usability aspects, there are more updates wed like to talk about. For players who prefer to play in fullscreen mode and make use of multiple applications simultaneously, we introduced a new borderless mode besides the fullscreen and windowed one.
Those who often load a savegame from the pause menu within another running game, can now access the full load dialog with mod options etc without accessing the main menu beforehand.
If players are experiencing crashes, the game will now try to save the current state of your map as long as it's still possible. Additionally, the log files will be saved with an individual filename instead of being overridden on the next game start.
Moreover, the beta testing for the summer update starts next week.
The game performance is of great importance to us and we are continuously analyzing it in order to identify potential for improvement. We reached the milestone for better graphics performance with the last Vulkan update. Currently the focus is on the simulation performance.
In Transport Fever 2, each person and cargo is simulated individually. There is no limit for the population or number of cargo items. Other aspects of the game, such as the complexity of the road network, are also not limited by the game itself.
The simulation performance is mainly dependent on the available computing power. In the coming summer update, improvements will be implemented and the calculation time for the simulation steps will be reduced. We will also try to further optimize performance in the future.
There will be more information about the summer update next week.
Not only the selection of the appropriate means of transport is a key aspect in Transport Fever 2, but a good loading configuration too. In order to enable an even better control of the traffic flow, the option for waiting in stations has been revised.
The waiting time can now be adapted to the needs of each individual station, while previously it was configurable only for the whole line. In addition to the maximum waiting time, there is now also a minimum waiting time.
The departure of vehicles can now be customized with mods. For that, the vanilla departure logic can be deactivated individually for specific vehicles and instead triggered using script commands.
There will be more information about the summer update next week.
Selecting the right means of transport is one of the key aspects in Transport Fever 2. To make the work of the transport company easier, the vehicle purchase window has been revised.
In addition to the existing filter options, it is now possible to filter by cargo type. With the also newly available sorting, all means of transportation can be sorted according to their vehicle properties such as name, capacity, speed, etc.
There are also minor improvements in the search field and in the configuration of longer train compositions.
The vehicles and lines can now be renamed in most of the display windows, which also simplifies vehicle and line management.
There will be more information about the summer update next week.
Let's take a closer look into towns this week. In order to ease cargo management, the supplying industries are now displayed in the town details.
The residents received traffic training and do no longer cross the road at red lights. To further increase safety in town traffic, trams can blink when turning at intersections. Speaking of lights: the flickering has been reduced and there is a new setting with which the bloom effect can be deactivated.
Moreover, we also invested in stability. For example, previously a missing street mod led to a savegame not being loaded anymore. Now, the most important properties are cached in the savegame so that the traffic infrastructure remains functional, even if the mods are missing.
There will be more information about the summer update next week.
Welcome back to the update previews. Today we take a look at some of the usability aspects of the coming update.
To improve navigation speed we implemented significant changes to the user interface. These are based on player feedback and aim to enhance your everyday experience.
For example, we reworked the construction menu for easier navigation and replaced the previous scroll buttons with a scroll bar and the search field will keep focus when entering the keywords.
We also moved the submenus for road and rail into the top level tabs so they are directly accessible. Additionally, the tabs feature the small icons that help you find the right one in no time.
See you next week on our social media channels and by popular request, here on Steam, for the next update preview.
Join us on the ride to the coming update. Whether you are a tycoon or sandbox player or a modder, there is an improvement prepared for you, no matter what your goal is in the game.
Particle emitters for all vehicles is the first visual addition we are happy to bring to your attention. Not only trains and ships will support emitting particles, but trucks, buses, trams and aircraft too, thereby you should notice an increased sense of reality. Feel the smoke!
Talking about sense of reality: The handling of animation times for barriers at crossings and door closings when trains depart has been adjusted. No more driving off too early or departing with open doors. Safety first!
Furthermore, the sound performance will be improved. You can no longer expect individual vehicles driving silently through the landscape.
See you next week on our social media channels and by popular request, here on Steam, for the next update preview.
We are very excited to announce a new major game update today.
Based on the feedback we receive every day, we have been working for some time now on a long list of bug fixes, usability improvements and small enhancements to enrich the gaming experience. The update is to be released this summer and will be available as a test version before that.
Over the next few weeks we will provide further insights into the upcoming update via our social media channels. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram so that you don`t miss any information.
Thank you very much for the great ongoing interest in Transport Fever 2. We assure you that we will continue to listen to your feedback and improve the game.
We are very happy to officially release the Mac version of Transport Fever 2 together with Good Shepherd Entertainment.
Mac users can now start building their own transport empire and join an ever-growing global community of active players. In addition to the Mac version, the Vulkan Graphic API update for Windows and Linux is now available, too. Vulkan is a modern cross-platform graphics library, and the now added support can lead to significant rendering performance improvements over OpenGL, especially on modern hardware.
Please find the detailed release notes HERE. Be assured that we will not stop improving Transport Fever 2 and expect additional major free game updates in this year.
The entire Urban Games team wishes you lots of fun with Transport Fever 2!

Please be advised that the Steam Awards have commenced and are now accepting nominations. Transport Fever 2 was tailor-made to help give industrious players, such as yourselves, a fun way to watch time fly by as you build your own towering empires. Because of this, we couldn't think of a better fit for the game than the "Sit Back and Relax" award category and we would love your support in securing a spot on the final nominations list.
So all of you passengers who have been enjoying the ride with us thus far can show your support by casting a vote for Transport Fever 2. All you would need to do is click on the "NOMINATE FOR" checkbox above this announcement. Together with your help, we can continue to spread word of the game and welcome new members on-board the Transport Fever 2 community.
Thanks again for all of your continued support!
Despite the current difficult times, we managed to be productive when it comes to the completion of our Mac version of Transport Fever 2.
Our developers are still arranging the last details so that the internal tests can be successfully completed. A beta version for testing will then be made available. Interested testers can apply with immediate effect.
We are happy to accept applications for the beta test via the contact form. Participants will have to enter the Mac system specifications in the form. Applications are only taken into consideration if participants use a valid Mac system that meets the minimum requirements (at least macOS 10.14 and a dedicated graphics card with 2 GB of video memory). Applications will be accepted until the 11th of November, after which the partakers will be announced by the end of all registrations.
We will inform you as soon as possible about the start of the beta testing and the official release date of the Mac version.
We would also like to take this opportunity to announce that further major free game updates for Transport Fever 2 are arriving next year. We would like to thank all our players and fan communities for the huge interest in our game.
The entire Urban Games team sends best regards, and wishes you to stay healthy!
Our developers are working hard to complete the Mac version. The release is planned for November. The exact date will be announced later.
Besides the version for Mac computers, an update for Windows and Linux will be released, which will add Vulkan as a new graphics interface.
For Mac computers, the operating system macOS 10.14 and a dedicated graphics card with at least 2 GB video memory will be required.
The Mac version will be available on the Mac App Store, Steam and GOG.com.
A beta test will be conducted prior to the release. More information will be announced in October.
We are very happy to finally welcome the Mac community and send best regards from the whole Urban Games team.
There's never been a better time to jump on-board Transport Fever 2 for all those who haven't bought their ticket yet. Transport Fever 2 is now available for 30% off until September 18th as part of Steam's Midweek Madness deal!!
We are very happy to be able to release another major game update today.
With this update, we fulfill the widely expressed request for stronger modding support. Many new modding possibilities have been added and exciting new applications can be expected. The update is a big investment for the future.
We have also greatly improved the tools and documentation. Among other things, an extensive wiki was developed, which contains a complete modding specification and a game manual.
Based on the feedback we receive every day, additional improvements have been realized. For example, we have improved the simulation performance and usability. And as with every update, there are various bug fixes and small improvements.
Please find the complete release notes here.
Be assured that Transport Fever 2 will continue to be improved in the future. Since we receive a huge amount of feedback, we are unfortunately unable to fulfill all requests at the same time.
We send the very best regards from the entire Urban Games team and thank you for the great interest in Transport Fever 2!
After a long development phase and extensive tests, we can announce the release date of the upcoming update today. The "June Update" will be released on Monday, June 22.
In addition to many small improvements, this free update will bring heavily improved modding support and better simulation performance. We also publish an extensive wiki including a game manual and a modding specification.
Interested parties can get involved in beta testing
We are very happy to make two announcements today: The Mac version of Transport Fever 2 will be released in autumn this year and another game update will be released in June.
With the announcement of the Mac version, we can meet a strong player need. Due to Apple's decision to no longer support the OpenGL graphics library, intensive technical efforts were required to enable publication on Mac.
The game update, which will be released in June, will further improve Transport Fever 2 based on player feedback. In addition, we want to express our appreciation for the modding community with strong modding support. This will also create a solid foundation for exciting additions that you can expect later this year.
At the same time as the update, an extensive wiki will be published, which will contain both a game description and a modding reference.
Interested parties can inform themselves here about details of the update and get involved in the development.
We thank you for the great interest in Transport Fever 2 and send the best regards from the entire Urban Games team!
Based on your feedback, we have been working on a new major update in the past few weeks to further improve stability, performance and usability.
In particular, the RAM usage was significantly reduced, which leads to more stability and better performance.
Here are the highlights of the update:
- More stability and better performance
- Reworked bulldozer with construction costs refunding
- New road construction mode for building straight roads
- Better usability for example with line management
- Various changes regarding modability as well as new debug tools
- Countless small improvements and bug fixes
Today we are very happy to release a mainly bug-fixing update which addresses a wide range of issues. Thanks a million for all your reports and feedback!
Please find the release notes >here<.
We will be very hard at work also in future and won't stop improving Transport Fever 2 (not only bug fixes but also performance optimization, usability and new features). Therefore please don't be concerned if your specific issue has not yet been solved.
In particular, we are aware of an issue related to RAM usage. The less RAM your system has, the larger maps you play, and the more mods you use, the higher the risk that you experience crashes. We will soon release a next update to address this issue.
We hope that this newest update improves your game experience and wish you a lot of fun with Transport Fever 2.
It's been eight days since the launch of Transport Fever 2 and we are still overwhelmed by your feedback and the many positive reactions. We are grateful for the countless discussions and reports, and since the launch we have tried to read everything possible and implement the most important improvements as quickly as possible.
Today we can release a first major stability update. Please find the detailed release notes here.
Please be assured that we will continue to make great efforts to implement further improvements in the future. Based on your feedback, there will be a number of free updates. Accordingly, you do not have to be concerned if your specific issue has not yet been solved with today's update.
We are really looking forward to the upcoming improvements and promise you that we will work very hard also in the next year. The entire Urban Games team says thanks for your interest and wishes you a happy holiday season.

Free play offers a huge range of creative possibilities, while campaign mode re-writes transport history across three continents. Transport Fever 2 offers a choice of over 200 vehicles from Europe, America and Asia, modelled in extreme detail; and with the in-game map editor, you can re-create landscapes from three different climate zones. Finally, the realistic transport and economy simulator, along with comprehensive modding support, round off the gameplay experience.
Open Up the World
A huge game world is waiting for your railroads, road vehicles, aircraft and ships. Intuitive interactive rail construction tools and a modular construction system for stations make it easy to build and expand your transport empire; and thanks to a wide range of configuration options, every free play game provides a new challenge, where completely different strategies can lead to success.
Write Transport History
Three historic campaigns set in different time periods and located on three separate continents will challenge you with different objectives …only transport magnates will manage to complete all the missions! Voiceovers and cutscenes enrich the story and contribute to a thrilling gameplay experience, and even the free play mode will challenge you with different achievements to unlock.
Optimize the Infrastructure
It is vital to adapt your company to the needs of the economy and cities: bridges, tunnels, switches, rail signals, one-way streets, light signals, and bus lanes are just some of the possibilities you can use to optimize the transport infrastructure. Even train stations and airports can be expanded with modules in order to meet different requirements; and various data layers help you visualize traffic volumes and emissions, and provide information for further improvements.
Free your Creativity
Thanks to the detailed game world, you can develop your very own virtual railroad landscape: the map editor provides the possibility to create countless different worlds; the terrain in the game can be adjusted and painted; and thanks to the extensive modding support, new creations are being developed constantly, which are available for free via the Steam Workshop and which can be easily integrated into the game.
