Thank you everyone for your patience as we launched the game over the last couple weeks. We are pleased to deliver the first major early access update, Early Access 1.1!

What's New

New Features



• Cross-platform Steam Cloud syncing for your Raifu Wars profile and settings
• Support for new UI languages: German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Korean
• Game Speeds: FASTER!! reduce animation speed and make games go faster
• Symbols: customize your profile with one of 50+ symbols

  Movement

  
  
• Limit movement by number of tiles traveled
• Diagonals now cost 2

  Combat

  
  
• New algorithm for finding obstacles in bullet path (Bresenham's) that is more consistent and accurate
• Obstacle Bullet Path Penalties: Tree -15%, Barricade -30%
• Obstacles adjacent to players being attacked raise bullet path penalty 1.5x (take cover behind trees and barricades!)
• For attackers: adjacent obstacles do not contribute to bullet path penalty (shoot from behind cover!)

• Card Art: lots of new card art has been added
• Rebalance deck: draw Blessings, Blitzkrieg, Retreat more to move games along faster

• Various bug fixes including fix broken Fortifications achievement

Known Issues

• Tutorial is only available in English
• Some languages are missing a few translations
• UI alignment issues for some languages
• A handful of cards still have no art
• Sometimes all tiles in editor draw as water tiles

What's Next?

The next update will target the following:

• Improved AI (use of cards, more strategy)
• Map Editor fixes and improvements

Hopefully it'll include even more! What would you like to see in the next update? Want to help the translation effort? Check out the JSON files in your Raifu Wars Install folder (.../steamapps/common/Raifu Wars/lang) to make your own custom language files. Then load it by setting the filename under "language" in settings.json in your local app data directory (AppData/Local/RaifuWars on Windows). We are dedicated to making this game better!
