Here's a small patch to address a bug related to non-16:9 monitors.

Changelog from 1.3.0 (2022-03-19) to 1.3.1 (2023-12-05):

  • Fixed UI issue when fullscreen on non 16:9 monitors

If you have any problems with the settings, you can always tweak them from outside the game with the config file. It's located in "Appdata/Local/TypeKnight".

Type Knight - Quality of Life Update


Hello! Here's a big update for Type Knight that focuses on quality of life features. Let me know if this new patch introduces any new bugs, I really appreciate the feedback. The linux version of the update is postponed since I was having issues with my ubuntu install.


Changelog from 1.2.1 (2020-10-16) to 1.3.0 (2022-03-19):

  • Updated the font
    • Some characters have been edited to differentiate them better (u/v and capital i / lowercase L).
    • Other character were edited to make them more aesthetically pleasing (characters with accents).
    • A lot of new characters have been added. Mostly letters with accents but also symbols. You should now be able to type in most (if not all) languages that are based on the latin script.


  • Split English language localization into English (US) and English (UK)
    • The game now has a dictionary with american spelling.
    • Added support for the UK QWERTY keyboard layout (Note: the keyboard layout option is only used for the on-screen keyboard feature in the custom game menu and navigating the menus. You can use any layout during the main gameplay.)
    • Story panels and menus are properly localized as well.
  • Added alt-codes to write certain characters.
  • Slowed down bats by 25%.
  • Fixed ground gradually disappearing after playing for a very long time.
  • Fixed blue or green text not being loaded correctly.
  • Fixed URL links not working in google chrome.
  • Removed some offensive words.

Type Knight - Anniversary update!


Type Knight's release anniversary (Oct 25th) is coming up! To celebrate this, here's a big update!


Changelog from 1.1.2 (2020-06-01) to 1.2.0 (2020-10-16).

  • Added 16:9 aspect ratio
    • You can revert back to the old format in options menu if you want to
  • Added fullscreen
  • Added a new song to the in-game playlist
  • Updated the steam library banner
  • Added a new tips section with various info
    • Very useful for new players!
    • Veteran players might learn something too!
  • Added two extra difficulty levels
    • Pecking Peasant is extra easy, for people who have never touched a keyboard before.
    • Loggorheic Lord is extra hard, recommended for expert typists only.
  • Slight rebalance to the other difficulty levels
    • Enemies are slightly faster in Palindrome Paladin
    • Enemies are slightly slower in Spelling Squire
  • The combo timer will now scale according to the difficulty (easy = longer timer, hard = shorter timer)
  • Explained better how to use the shield in the story panel
  • Disabled gameover buttons for a short moment while the menu fades in
  • Fixed the background effect in the main menu not working properly at different framerates
  • Fixed various strings and icons not displaying properly


Note: A new version has already been released (1.2.1) a few hours after 1.2.0 to fix a crash and a small bug that sneaked through.

Type Knight version 1.1.2


Hey! I've just finished working on a new patch for Type Knight. I couldn't recreate on my end alot of the bugs that have been reported but I still did my best to investigate the game's code to fix most of them. Please let me know if the patch feels like an improvement or not!


Changelog from 1.1.1 (2020-01-08) to 1.1.2 (2020-06-01).

  • Fixed the unhinged dynamic difficuly for the script flow game mode. The longer you had the game open, the faster the skeletons were walking because the game didn't take into account the time you started the new round.
  • Potential fix for the game over screen sometimes not fading in.
  • Potential fixes for crashes related to weather effects (objPluie, objBrouillard and so on).
  • Standardized how the words appear above the sorcerer. The words should behave like for other enemies (graying out instead of disappearing). It should also make the system less prone to bugs. (Some of you had a problem where a new word would fail to appear.)
  • Removed some offensive and vulgar words from the dictionnaries.
  • Updated the readme.

Type Knight version 1.1.1


Hello! Here's a small patch for Type Knight. I tried my best to fix the crash related to "objEntites" that's been reported multiple times, however I couldn't recreate the issue on my end. I've made a small change that I think should fix the issue but there's no way for me to know for sure. Let me know if it still happens.

  • Possible fix for the crash related to "objEntites"
  • Fixed not always being able to hear the attack sound effect of skeletons
  • Removed crickets from the background audio during winter mode
  • Updated the alternate version of the mountain sprite used for the lightning strike special effect to the newest version of mountains (you will see the change after winter mode ends)
  • Tweaked the game over screen during winter mode

[u][/u]Hello! I hope you will enjoy this winter-themed update! From now on, the cemetery will be engulfed in snow every year from December 1st to January 15th. Additionally, there's a small surprise if start the game on the 24th to 25th December! Here's the patchnotes:

Hello! Here's the first patch for Type Knight.

If you experience any bugs or crashes or see obscene words, please report them to me! Video footage of the game when you're triggering a bug/crash is especially useful if you want it to get fixed quickly.

    • Sound cue when the word appears above the knight
