A few reasons for the name change. 'RPG' was a fun title to give the game, and the new Argument System worked incredibly well with the Paper Shakespeare universe, but at the end of the day, we just couldn't figure out how to make it all fit together perfectly. We wanted stats and abilities that we weren't sure worked. We wanted an item and money system when we didn't have a working stat system. We saw that we already had a "point-and-click" puzzle mechanic in place, so we decided to streamline things and make the puzzles the star gameplay mechanic. So we had to ditch the 'RPG' in the title as to avoid confusion and potential anger.
The game also went from a fun little side project, to something that we ripped our hairs out thinking about programming. Other things came up, other investors bought into our visions of sugar plums and whatnot. Suddenly, we didn't have time for the side project. With this simplified version of the game, we can get it done and put it out into the world as something fully baked. Not half-baked. We fully intent to come back to a Paper Shakespeare RPG in the future, but only when it can be done right, and have more of our attention.
